Nāma Brahma Tattva of Acyuta

Once, while immersed in samādhi, Acyuta Dās[1] was blessed with the divine vision of the Supreme Absolute, the Niraṅkara Nārāyaṇa and seizing this opportunity he wished to be graced with the precious knowledge of Nāma Tattva.  Upon which, the Supreme Lord Nārāyaṇa Jagannāth imparted the philosophy of Nāma or names.

Dear Jyotishas,

Abraham Lincoln and Charles Darwin are interesting pair of individuals for Jyotish study. They were both born on same days but at different places and time. This makes their charts almost similar except for the position of lagna. Such charts are very good candidates to analyze what factors in charts are contributed by grahas(Karaka) in Rashi chart versus the lagna. The Lagna indicates the individual whereas the rashi and graha’s indicate the surroundings with people. Each individual may react in a different manner to the same set of surroundings. The individual’s reaction depends on Rising Lagna with various special lagna’s.

Vedic Astrology is a commonly used term for the astrological principles enunciated by the seers belonging to the Vedic faith which originated in erstwhile India. The appropriate term used for this, by the seers and practitioners, is Jyotiṣa. Because of the vastness of the field of Jyotiṣa, as well as its age some consider this to be the origin of the astrology practiced by the Zorastrians, Greeks and many others. Just as with modern Astrology, Vedic Astrology or Jyotiṣa is a means to predict the future of any born soul or event.
