Anything that you understand and know and are planning about, is already enveloping your citta. Be it anything. 5th house is guiding the intelligence. So, it is something deeper than intelligence. Citta takes you in some direction, and has strong influence on the Mind. This Citta is in 5th house. The kāraka of this bhāva is Guru. The first symbol of Guru is peace. So, Citta should be at peace and that is what is required for mantra to settle properly. Like you need water and fire to cook food. Likewise, the basic requirement for a mantra to settle down in you, is a peaceful citta. This is called Sat-cit-ānanda or Saccidānanda. Sat is Guru, Cit is 5th house, Ānanda is Guru. Saccidānanda is Guru.
Intelligence has two components in it:
- The truth associated with any information, that is Lagna. For example, Manmohan Singh is the prime minister of India, you know it, I know it, we all know it is true. The truthfulness of this information. In this, there is nothing called good and bad. It is just an information having truth in it. Truthful statement is Lagna. But whether you like it or you don’t like it, is Lagna lord. What is the difference between Lagna and Lagna lord? Paka Lagna is where Lagna lord is placed. Paka Lagna denotes whether you like this information or you don’t like this information. Your personal intelligence is coming into the picture. How my personal intelligence works, is Pāka Lagna. Lagna is for everybody. Lagneśa is your working intelligence. Your conscious intelligence. Does my Buddhi like this information or don’t like this information. You have to check the relation between Lagna and Lagneśa. Guru is the Kāraka for Lagneśa and Pāka Lagna. Is Guru in a kendra or Kona or Upachaya or is it in a Duḥsthāna from Lagneśa? Depending on where Guru is from Lagna lord, your basic intelligence is working either on a shant level or ashant level. Śānti, sanskrit word means peace), (aśānti, sanskrit word means lack of peace). Then you have to check the same between Lagneśa and 5th house.
That is very important. Something is influencing in my Citta, and is completely dominating my citta, do I like it or do I hate it? Kaṃsa (maternal uncle of Śrī Kṛṣṇa) was having only one name in his mind, “Kṛṣṇa, Kṛṣṇa, Kṛṣṇa”. Same way, Saint Mīrābāī also used to take Kṛṣṇa name all the time. Both of them had Kṛṣṇa in their Citta. 24 hours, they were talking about Kṛṣṇa only. Likewise, I have Jyotiṣa in my consciousness, and if I meet someone, if he is not having some Jyotiṣa content, I start to think, “Why has he entered my life”. That is not matching with my Citta. Kaṃsa was stuck with name Kṛṣṇa in his citta, likewise, Jyotiṣa is sitting in my citta. But the question is whether I like it or I don’t like it. I will like it, when this Citta is having good sambandha with my Lagna lord. I will not like it if my citta is not having good sambandha with my Lagna lord. 5th is 5th house for everybody. But the question is, where is your citta from your Lagna lord. Depending upon the planetary placements from your Lagna lord, you will like certain things and you will not like certain things. It is very clear. Whom will you like the most. You will like the most, that which is in 5th house from the Lagna Lord. But that may or may not sit in your citta, depending on whether it is linked or not linked to your 5th house. Likewise, the graha that is sitting in your 5th house, you may or may not like the same depending on whether it is well placed from your Lagna lord. So, we are having a peculiar situation. Now we can also apply it to all things w.r.t. Lagna Lord.
Lagna lord is you. There are many people who are born and die without having known anything about mantra. This can be analyzed only through Lagneśa.
- 5th house: 5th house is something that comes naturally to you. The Devatā who comes to you without invitation, that Devatā is from 5th house. 5th house has this quality. It is the house of Bhakti. I also gave a good mail on Sohaṃsa, about bhakti. I hope you read that. The knowledge related to the graha in 5th house, is the knowledge which you CAN digest completely. 5th house is Jala Tattva basically,
5th house is something you can digest. That which is there in your consciousness. That which is going to influence your citta completely. You will have the understanding of that subject or something that is in your 5th house. So, that is why that is a Devatā. And you will feel devotion to that devatā, and will be very dear to you. 5th house is that for which you can sacrifice your life. 5th house is the house of children, so, parents can give their life for their children. You have tremendous love, compassion and devotion for the 5th house. But this devotion is like that of a mother for a child.
Kṛṣṇa has given example of 5th house in form of Yaśodā’s and Devakī’s compassion for him. Devakī had so much devotion to Kṛṣṇa, so he had to be born as her son. So, Kṛṣṇa said: “Since I have come as her child, so, I shall give her Mukti”. So, that devatā for which you are devoted birth after birth after birth; will sit in your 5th house only. I have bhakti for Sūrya in this life and I study Jyotiṣa 24 hours. Jyotiṣa is a subject coming from Sūrya. The name of Sūrya is Jyotiṣa. So, that means I have bhakti for Sūrya. So, that means in my past life also, I had bhakti for Sūrya. My next life also I will have bhakti for Sūrya. So, the placement of Sūrya in 5th house must follow me in my next life also. So, devotion follows you life after life. That is Citta. That is Saccidānanda. This is the source of your happiness. When the mother looks at the little child, she becomes so happy. Why is she happy? The baby is shitting all over the place and spoiling her dress. That little child is crying all the time. Mother cannot sit down and eat. Mother cannot sleep. Mother’s life becomes hell. But, yet she is very happy. Why? That means whoever sits in the 5th house, has the power to make you dance on its tunes.
For example, if the mother has sat for lunch just now, the child starts crying and does all things, and the mother has to leave food and runs to the child. Whoever sits in the 5th house, has the power to make you dance on its tunes. This is what Citta is all about, it is what is authorized by you to sit deep inside your mind. Parents can be angry with their child because the child knows that his parents love him more than their life. This is what 5th house is. Neither the Lagna, nor the 7th house, nor anything else, but only the 5th house follows you life after life after life. Saccidānanda or Sat-cit-ānanda, will be there with you life after life.
I am often asked a beautiful question. “Will I study Jyotiṣa in next life?” The answer is: “Yes, you will study Jyotiṣa life after life after life; provided you have Bhakti/devotion for Jyotiṣa”. Jyotiṣa is not my 4th house or formal learning, I am not studying Jyotiṣa to get some degree certificate. Jyotiṣa is not my 9th house, that I will or want to get respect because of my knowledge. If I have bhakti for Jyotiṣa, then Jyotiṣa will stay with me in all my lives. This is the first consideration from 5th house.
I gave you example of Kaṃsa and Kṛṣṇa. Kaṃsa had Kṛṣṇa in 5th house. Mīrā also had Kṛṣṇa in 5th house. But in principle, Kaṃsa viewed that 5th house as house of enemy, he was very anti-children, he killed several children, what kind of a demon he was. But from the Lagna lord, the 5th house must be inimical. But still Kṛṣṇa was in his 5th house. So, a Devatā is sitting in 5th house.
What do you mean by the word Devatā? Devatā is a sanskrit word derived from the root word “div”, “Div” means light. So, Devatā is he or she who gives light. Light of knowledge. Think of it like this, suppose you have a room full of darkness. And there is a small candle lighting in the corner, having a flame. That is the devatā in 5th house. So, you are following this devatā like Arundhati was following the Saptarṣi. Saptarṣi or the seven great vedic seers, are like 7 stars lighting in the sky when no other starlight is there. And you are following these seven stars like Arundhatī. This is the light from 5th house. That is the devatā. This devatā will never leave you.
You see, humans are schizophrenic. What we do is that we change our bhakti after some years. For example someone will do Kṛṣṇa bhakti for 10 years and then shift this bhakti to other devatā. But the devatā does not do this with you. You are changing the bhakti because the daśās are pressurizing you to change your focus. Daśās can do that to you. Our citta are completely weak, it is not Sat-cit-ānanda. If I have truth in my citta, then my bhakti won’t change. If I love Jyotiṣa in my childhood, then I love Jyotiṣa today also. Daśā can change from Śani to Sūrya to Guru but my love for Jyotiṣa does not Change. Whatever be the daśā, it cannot shift the graha sitting in your 5th house, because daśā are temporary but the houses and Graha placement are permanent. Some people change their gurus like they change clothes. That means there is no truth in your Citta. The Citta which does not have truth will not be there with you in your next life. So, if you are doing Jyotiṣa in this life, and you want that Jyotiṣa should come in your 5th house in your next life, then you should hold the truth and only the truth in your Citta. So, first you should ask yourself: “Do I have that devotion”?

Devotion/Bhakti is that which is there in your citta all the time. If you are doing mantra only 108 times and then if it is disappearing from your citta for the rest of the day, that is not a good mantra. Mantra is that which is all the time in your consciousness. If you are awake for 10 hours, then that mantra should be in your citta for those 10 hours. That is what mantra is. Bhakti should do that to you. The mantra that is done only 108 times or few malas in the day, is a thing of the amateurs if that mantra is not staying in your conscious mind throughout the day. I am talking about a very high level thing. It is the life devotion. There is a beautiful song on it, which sings about the dissolving of the mind of Mīrā into Kṛṣṇa. I am dissolved into Jyotiṣa like that in Jyotiṣa, because I have Sūrya in my 5th house. The procedural worship of Sūrya is fine, and I like that. But I am studying Jyotiṣa all my life, every moment of my day, and that is actually like doing bhakti for Sūrya. So, look at your own 5th house and find out what is the truth in your Citta, and hold that truth and follow that. That is what true bhakti is.
5th house is an unconditional house. Can you know when the baby will pee, when the baby will do potty? There is no timing for child. There is no timing for 5th house. So, there is no timing for bhakti. Mother has to run whenever the child wants her. That is bhakti. There are no time restrictions in 5th house bhakti. That is very, very important. The graha sitting in 5th house will indicate the direction of the bhakti. We see the graha like this, and this formula is infallible
- Sūrya = Sūrya devatā
- Candra = Jala or Gaurī also called Pārvatī Mā. Basically, bhakti for mother forms of Devī.
- Maṅgala = Skanda. Or Hanumān and other. I explained the meaning of the term Skanda.
- Budha = Viṣṇu, ahimsa (non-violence). The bhakti also changes the living style. If somebody is eating chicken two times a day, how can he say he is a devotee of Kṛṣṇa. Each bhakti has its color.
- Guru = Śiva bhakti. Jnana (Gyaan) yogi. They are seeking knowledge.
- Śukra = Lakṣmī Mā. Lakṣmī Mā has many forms. To win in court case, it is Vijay Lakṣmī Mā. Maha Lakṣmī Mā makes you win a war. Dhan-Lakṣmī Mā is for wealth. There are many forms. Other devī or devatā that i am telling you, have many forms, you should read about them.
- Śani = Brahma. Śani is kāraka of creation. We are born due to sin. Sin is known by Brahma Ji, he puts you in many forms of animals, birds or living beings. A person with Śani in 5th house wants to know about sins and is always interested in who has done what amount of Pāpa in their life. Whereas Guru is focused on the good deeds of a Jīvātman whereas Śani is focused on bad deeds. That is why they can not sit together. When they sit together, they will fight for sure. Śiva is more powerful and that is why he will Kick Brahma out. That is why it is said that Śiva does not let Brahma be worshiped. Because if you are looking at the good deeds of someone, then you won’t like to look at the bad deeds. Some people who always like to see faults of others and always like to say bad things about others have Śani in 5th house because Śani is making them do it. People having Guru in 5th house are generally happy because they see good in others, and they like to look at good deeds of others. So, if you want to choose a good subject on write a book on, choose that from the graha in 5th house. You you will always reflect your 5th house in your book. I know a person, he is a very, very good Jyotiṣi, and has written books. You pick any of his books, in each book he has said bad things about at least 5 to 10 people. It means Śani is sitting in his Citta. If Śani is sitting in 5th house, Guru will not like to go there. These two can’t sit together.
- Rāhu = Durgā / Cāmuṇḍā
- Ketu = Gaṇeśa
In life some things are opposite opposite to each other.
- Śani and Guru can’t sit together. Śani- Brahma. Guru -Śiva.
- Candra and Śukra can’t sit together. One of the two will be dominant.
- Sūrya and Budha can not sit together. One of the two will be dominant. King cannot be non-violent, he has to punish, so, there is violence. Sūrya can give capital punishment, so, Sūrya is not non-violent. Because capital punishment is a murder. It is sin from Budha’s perspective. So to check this, ask this question to person, “what do you think, should there be capital punishment or not”? If he says that “capital punishment is necessary because if there is no such punishment, crime will shoot up in this world”. This is correct from Sūrya’s point of view. But this is a murder from Budha’s point of view. So, only one of them can be powerful in 5th, not both. When opposites sit together in 5th house, you will notice that there is a conflict inside that person. Your duty is to guide that person towards the one who is more beneficial one even if it weaker. Here, beneficence is more important than strength. The most benefic is Guru and the 2nd most benefic is Budha. Then Śukra then Candra. Guru is the most benefic in 5th house. These people do good in this world because they see only the good in others.
Student: even if it is nīca or vakra?
Guruji: We are talking about Mind and Citta. We will go into that, and I will also discuss madness caused by Guru in 5th house. We will come to that.
Śiva is 5th house. Śiva means that which is benefic. Śiva means that you are always thinking about the wellness of others. 5th house means beneficence. That is Śiva Bhakti. Just saying Om Namaḥ Śivāya and not meaning it, is not Śiva bhakti. I consider that in 9th house. Japa is in 9th house, not in 5th house. Bhakti of 5th house is very different from the bhakti of 9th house. 9th house bhakti has rules regulations and Guru. In 5th house bhakti, there are no rules, no regulation, nothing. Am I clear on this issue, it is plain love and affection.
Now, let us take a situation:
Kanyā Lagna
Lagna = Ketu
5th house = Guru retrograde and vargottama
6th house = Candra
7th house = Rāhu (in badhak)
10th house = Maṅgala
11th house = Sūrya
12th house = Budha, Śani (5th lord), Śukra
Please Discuss his 5th house, and see the problem in 5th house. I also taught you some rules about 5th house. Please apply those rules.
Student: Guru in 5th house will give auspicious results
Guruji: Yes, Guru in 5th house will give very auspicious results. He has two sons. He has the best children any parent could want. So handsome are both sons. Their marriage has happened to very good families. 1st son married a girl, and after marriage, she stood 1st in All India Civil Services. He himself is a top class student. God has been very kind to him when it comes to children. Two excellent sons.
Student: (….)
Guruji: Excellent point. Guru is debilitated and retrograde, so it is giving results of exaltation. That is why he has excellent children. Guru is vargottama, generally gives good children. Nīca plus Vakra it means that when kids were born, family’s financial conditions was weak. And then they will keep rising and will reach very high position. And that is what happened.
Another important point is that Guru is in 6th from Lagneśa. So, this person hates Guru. His Pāka Lagna considers 5th house as enemy. If Guru is in 6th or 11th from Pāka Lagna, the person has mental disorders. Because there is lack of peace in Dhī; there is fire in Dhī all the time. This is a very simple but very important dictum. What happens when such Guru is in Makara rāśi which is the house of cremation grounds and crematoriums. Guru is sitting there and is in 6th from Lagneśa. What do you think? Which devatā is in his Citta? What is the devatā that he hates? Guru in 5th means Śiva is that devatā, but, Śiva is in his Citta, and all the time Śiva Śiva Śiva, this name is sounding in his Citta. But like Kaṃsa, he hates Śiva. He is foolish. So, what else will happen? He became mental patient. He has Schizophrenia. Hard case of Schizophrenic. Very hard Schizophrenic.
Student: Right from birth?
Guruji: No, not right from birth. Some weird happened with him. When he was doing job and he was 26 years old, something happened there was a fire. Even today, that fire is inside his head. That fire related accident has not left his mind yet. How an accident can make a person psychologically ill? When there is a graha in 5th house and is in Duḥsthāna from Lagneśa, person can go mad, and will behave like one. If his planet is Guru, the person will go mad for sure. Specially if such Guru is afflicted and especially if this Guru is vakra. Guru should not be in 6th or 11th from Lagneśa. There can be lack of peace in Dhī. And in such cases, depending on which planet it is, the problem will be indicated. If this planet is Guru, this can be fire, or it can be a fight related to religion. If this planet is Śukra, love and love breakup, can cause mental disorders. If this planet is Budha, then some natural disaster can cause mental disorders.
Student: Where should these planets be, to cause mental disorders.
Guruji: They should be in 6th or 11th from Lagneśa but in 5th house from Lagna. Each of us has something like this. Jaimini has explained this very beautifully, Tanau Tanah Danda harah. The rāśi which is in 6th from Lagneśa, is called Daṇḍa rāśi or punishment rāśi. It can punish. The 11th from Lagneśa is worse than punishment, it completely removes something or takes something away. Budha in these places can cause mental disorders in after effects of some natural calamity or money-related events. I know of a lady, Śukra is in 11th from Lagneśa, somebody raped her and she completely lost her head, has serious mental disorders now. That rape incident got stuck in her head, and she is 24 hours going through that same rape events in her head. Likewise, this person is thinking that fire is still there. He is still fighting that fire. It is called, being stuck, the record is stuck. Budhi is disfunctional in that area. So, you can look into Jaimini Sutra and check depending upon which planet is such places i.e., 6th or 11th house from Lagna lord is very dangerous. People laugh at me and say: ” Sanjay why do you always keep talking about dog bite”.
In my kundli, Lagneśa is Guru and is sitting in Lagna, Budha is 6th from that. Budha is in Siṃha rāśi. I had a dog bite is totally associated with that planet Budha, I have proved this to my friends from various calculations, even then they do not understand why that thing is dysfunctional in my head. It will be. That is Budha in 6th from my Lagneśa. Animal problems come from Budha and Śani. I have Budha in 6th house and Śani in 11th house, that’s why dog bit me. That is stuck in my brain. How can I come out of that. My Gurudev said to my mother, “tell sanjay to chant Viṣṇu name, chanting “Viṣṇu Viṣṇu Viṣṇu Viṣṇu” will bring him out of this”. I did that and kept doing that and I came out of that. But even now I cannot say I am fully out of it. Because those graha are here. Budha can cause problems of finance, natural calamities, you will see that when these things will happen, the person will have to bear a lot of pain and sorrow. It can damage him mentally. So, planets in the 6th and 11th house from Lagna lord, are the worst planets in a horoscope as far as the intelligence of the person is concerned. If this graha connects with your 5th house, then it will cause serious trouble. It is better that you worship the Śakti related to that graha. You need Śakti because Śakti means strength, and inner power. Since that graha is punishing you, you have to strengthen-up. I have given a mantra to the suffering person for the graha in the 6th or 11th house from Lagneśa, and I have seen that when they do that mantra, they go through suffering for about 40 days or so. Then they come out of it and the problem never appears again in life. If I have to pull this person out of his mental disorders, what is the Śakti form of Guru? I have given the hint: It’s Tārā Mā.
Student: there is affliction coming on Guru from Maṅgala and Śani. Maṅgala has graha dṛṣṭi and Śani has rāśi dṛṣṭi.
Guruji: He won’t do any mantra, he has hard-core schizophrenia. Very bad situation. But remember the incident about fire. Jaimini is so accurate, you know. It will be fire or it will be religious differences, that will be the reason.
Student: Why is fire related to Guru?
Guruji: I understood why Jaimini linked religious differences to Guru. But i could never understand why fire is related to Guru.
Student: Guru is Ākāśa tattva
Guruji: There are parts to Jaimini, which I don’t fully understand. I can still understand why he linked natural calamities to Budha because Budha rules Pṛthvī tattva. Love from Śukra. Why is fire related to Guru? But in Ṛgveda, it is said that Guru is the keeper of the Holy Fire.
Student: (….)
Guruji: Hmm Yes. So, basically Guru has two forms:
- Teacher of dharma
- Agnihotri
Student: third eye of Śiva is Guru.
Guruji: Yes, you are right. Your point is correct. There are religious Hindu Religious connections. But there is no direction connection from Jyotiṣa point of view. For example, Pṛthvī tattva is linked to Budha. You cannot say that Agni tattva is linked to Guru. Yes, we can say this that Guru controls Agni otherwise Agni will go out of control for this we say that third eye of Śiva gets opened. Thats why Guru is very powerful. It is said that if Guru is positive in a horoscope, whole horoscope is positive.
Maṅgala in these position, can cause mental disorders due to fights, violence, war.
Rāhu in these positions, can cause mental disorders due to some cheating, if the person gets cheated badly.
Ketu in these positions, can cause mental disorders due to some accident i.e., mistake.
Candra in these positions, can cause mental disorders due to Jala doṣa.
I am reminding you again, the graha sitting in your 5th house have the power to make you dance on their tunes. They will control completely, and you can do nothing. So, what is the best solution? Everyday morning, worship the Devatā indicated by graha in 5th house, and pray that day goes well. And in this graha in 5th house, becomes favorable to you, they make your Citta to function i such a manner that you get the complete knowledge and wisdom of that craft. Because 5th is the house of deep understanding. Every graha has an ocean of their stream of knowledge, it can give you that ocean.
For example, Rāhu in 5th house gives mantra tattva which refers to deep understanding of mantras, good mantra, bad mantra, all types of mantra, Rāhu is best in that. Bṛhaspati will hate tāmasika mantra, and will not teach such mantras. But Rāhu has knowledge of every type of mantra.
If Sūrya is in 5th house, he will give full knowledge of Jyotiṣa and Vedānta.
If Guru is in 5th house, he will give you full knowledge of any one religion among many.
If Candra or Śukra is in 5th house, he will give you full knowledge of physique, ayurveda, medicine etc.
Maṅgala in 5th house, can give full knowledge of Nyāya Śāstra. Like this…
Depending upon the planet in the 5th house, if you propitiate that properly, people will respect you for the knowledge given to you by that graha. You will get fame beyond death. This is the power of 5th house which is not in any other bhāva. Kaṃsa and Mīrā are known even today. 5th house is the Veda. If you take even a small portion of Veda, people will remember you forever. For that, you need that bhakti, which sees no day or night, and you should be totally dedicated to your subject. This has nothing to do with the 4th house of formal learning. I need 5th house. I want to understand, I am doing Bhakti of Jyotiṣa.
If Rāhu is in 5th house, Patañjali Yoga Sūtra, if you start worshiping patanjali, complete yogasutra knowledge will come inside you. That is the power of Rāhu in 5th house. You can take up subjects according to 5th house, and find out Gurus for that subject and find out who has the same graha in 5th house.
So, we are talking about mantra bhāva but I am not talking about mantra. Mantra chanting is indicated by 9th house. Where it takes a form, has rules and regulations, because that is dharma, so you follow dharma. Guru indicates rules and regulations, controlling factor is father and Guru. 9th house is the house of Nīti. Nīti means norms of social conduct. There are various Nīti.
Student: Vidura Nīti.
Guruji: have you heard about “Bṛhaspati Nīti”? This is Kali Yuga, people remember other Nīti but have forgotten Bṛhaspati Nīti. You also have Śukra Nīti. Please read that Nīti which is indicated by strongest graha in the 9th house. If there is a direct connection between a planet in Lagna and the ninth house, then that planet will dominate the Nīti. You will like that Nīti.
- 1st check whether there is a planet sitting in the 9th house.
- If there is no graha in 9th house. Check for a relationship between 1st and 9th house. Then that graha will give Nīti.
9th lord can teach you some Nīti in childhood, but some other planet can change that Nīti. It happened with me. There is no planet in my 9th house. So, my Nīti in childhood was Maṅgala Nīti, violence, fighting etc. But gradually i realized this taught by my father to me, was not right, and what my Gurudev was saying was the right Nīti. Why? Because Guru is my Lagna lord and is aspecting my 9th house. You see how the change is coming? Now these Nīti is your dharma-mantra. Nīti indicates your dharma and thus deciding your dharma-mantra. Gāyatrī Mantra is the mantra for Satya Sanatana Dharma. Satya Sanatana Dharma means “I will never lie”. Satya is primary. If that be so, then who is the significator of that satya? Is it Guru or is it Sūrya? Satya comes from vak, from Guru. That is why this mantra is given on Thursdays, it is not given on Sundays. Tat savitur vareṇyaṃ… This mantra. Savitur means “prasava karana”, who gives your birth. Which is the graha giving you janma? It is Guru. Guru is Savitur. These days, astrologers are recommending Gāyatrī to everyone having bad Sūrya. What nonsense. Tat Savitur means Prasava-Kaarana, who gives janma, it is Guru. Kāraka for Janma is Guru. Guru is Jiva. Guru is Brahmana, so, this mantra is the symbol of a brahmana. The one who does not do this mantra, is not a brahmana. The requirement is that you can never lie. This is the path of 9th-house of Guru and Gāyatrī mantra. What about Sūrya in the 9th house? What about Maṅgala in 9th house? You all know about it and still are in doubt.
See, all these grahas have digbala and that’s how you understand the Nīti of each graha. Guru and Budha will have that effect on the 9th house that you will always care for your name, you will think that at least my name should have fame. Why? Because they have digbala on Lagna. Budha and Guru get digbala on Lagna and want you to maintain your reputation. So, Śiva and Viṣṇu are considered the highest and equal. And those people who fight whether Śiva is greater or Viṣṇu is greater, are foolish people. Truth alone is not sufficient, non-violence is also equally important. You need both for mukti. Only then you can say that your Lagna is perfect. Then you can get mukti. Guru and Budha have digbala in Lagna and push your intelligence towards Lagna.
Sūrya and Maṅgala have digbala in 10th house. These two graha are Agni tattva graha. Agni’s focus is on artha trikonaa. 10th house is the pillar of artha trikonaa. That is why Artha Śāstra is the Śāstra of Maṅgala and Sūrya. If there is lack of governance and security, how can you talk about economic development.
When you buy something from market, you pay currency notes. It is just a paper note. But the power behind it is Sūrya, because govt has printed it. Maṅgala helps Sūrya in establishing the governance. Hanumān helps Rāma likewise, Maṅgala helps Sūrya. Those who have strong Maṅgala and/or Sūrya in 9th house, they will like to study Artha Śāstra (economics).
Student: only in 9th and not if they are in 10th?
Guruji: If they are in 9th, it is for sure they will abide by dharma. 9th house means you are abiding to dharma. Cāṇakya’s artha shastra had some parts to it. Nīti means policies, and the policies of economics are related to Maṅgala and Sūrya in 9th house. There are other things to economics which are related to 10th house. The killing of enemies cannot be called Nīti of 9th house. This is Rāja Nīti. It is not dharma. Cāṇakya Nīti states at one place that you should not marry a beautiful girl because you could spent yours life protecting her from other men. This type of thinking is not Nīti of 9th house, this is not dharma of 9th house. Have you read Cāṇakya Nīti? If you will not read then for whom these books have been written? Please buy and read the different types of Nīti.
Student: are some parts of Nīti also related to 5th house?
Guruji: Not exactly. Nīti are policies, they are rules and regulation and are linked to 9th house. The graha in 5th house is going to make you dance on its tunes. But it can do that only until the 9th house gives you the knowledge about that.
Student: (….)
Guruji: Nīti is nothing but the does and don’ts. So, We are clear now.
So, if there IS a planet sitting in the 5th house, it is wiser to be friendly with that planet. If you are not amiable to the graha sitting in your 5th house, then that planet will make you dance on its tunes and it will use its own kāraka-elements. So, take my example. I have Śukra in my 5th house, and what will you say? General prediction is love marriage is certain. Yes, I had previous marriage as love marriage. And then this love marriage controlled me completely. Śukra in 5th house does this. What is the way out from the controlling nature of Śukra in 5th house? Worshiping Lakṣmī Mā is the way out.
Rāhu in 5th house makes you badly cheated by someone close to you. That is so bad that the native always gets cheated repeatedly again and again in their life. And then the person slowly starts losing faith on people, and becomes skeptical of almost everybody around them. So, the person is in fear of being cheated and feels this 24 hours a day. The person is completely shaken and cannot trust anybody. So, what can be the escape from this, how to protect yourself from this? The way out, is the worship of Durgā Mātā. Whenever this person will stop worshiping Durgā Mātā, will get cheated for sure. This worship of Durgā Mātā for Rāhu of 5th house, should be done in evenings or night because the worship related to Rāhu should be done in night. And I have already taught you that there are no hard rules in 5th house, and it is not the morning prayer. The worship related to the planet placed in your 5th house, should be done during the part of the day assigned to that Planet.
So, we are clear on the planets in 5th house. Now let’s start.
Student 1: I have got Ketu in my 5th house.
Guruji: You should worship Gaṇeśa.
Student 1: (…)
Guruji: People with Ketu in the 5th house will be highly intuitive people. They are very intuitive. They are very unpredictable people. A person having Ketu in 5th house will always feel that “whatever I am doing, i am doing it perfectly. And whatever I do, I am always perfect”. But nobody else would be able to understand these people. You will normally think about a person having Ketu in 5th house, “why is he doing that, I can’t understand”. This is about the peculiarity of Ketu in 5th house. They are very peculiar. There will be no reasoning. Reason doesn’t work with them. The person having Ketu in 5th house, will normally act like they are listening to everybody, and every advise or suggestion that other people are giving to him. They will normally be very friendly, and very duty-bound like Gaṇeśa. Gaṇeśa is very duty bound, and when Gaṇeśa Ji decides to do something, he ultimately achieves it. These people will be duty-bound to three generations up and three generations down. They will attend to the duties of even grandfather (3 generations before), and to the duty of grandchild (3 generations down). I consider Ketu in 5th house as very nice. Such a person is very duty-bound.
See Śukra is controlling my life completely, I am drinking tea without sugar. Guru is in my Lagna, but Śukra doesn’t want me to have sugar but because of Guru in Lagna, I love sugar. So, I am stuck and cannot do anything. I love sweet food and sugar, but, I can’t have it now. You can see the power of the planet in 5th house.
So, let us start to discuss every chart, what is the planet in 5th house and where it is from your Lagna lord. It will be a nice exercise. This will clarify, there is no point in theory without practice.
Student 2: no planet
Guruji: No planet in 5th house? One thing: it is very peculiar to have no planet in 5th house. It is weird. It is like, if you marry you are in trouble, and if you don’t marry then also you feel alone and want to marry. It is a problem to have a graha in the 5th house but it is also a problem to not have a graha in 5th house. That is the peculiarity of 5th house. Because then you do not know what are you going to carry to the next life. You do not have a clear direction.
Student 2: Śukra is the Lord of 5th house and it is aspecting 5th house from the 11th house.
Guruji: Where is the Lagna lord?
Student 2: 10th house.
Guruji: So, what is the relationship between Lagna lord and the 5th house?
Student 2: its 2-12 relation
Guruji: That is 5th lord. What is the relation between Lagna lord and 5th house?
Student 2: 5th house is 8th from the Lagna lord.
Guruji: 8th house. But is the Lagna lord is not in the other sign of 5th lord? Tulā is the house of Śukra, and Vṛṣabha is also the sign of Śukra. So, Lagneśa is exalted in the other sign owned by 5th lord. This is not a bad placement w.r.t. 5th house. So, tell me what does it mean
Student: Is she having Makara Lagna?
Guruji: She has Makara Lagna, 5th house is Vṛṣabha, so, the deity is Lakṣmī Mā.
Student: where is Śukra?
Guruji: This bhakti of 5th house is different from the bhakti of 9th house, and it is linked with Śukra. So, ideally it should be Lakṣmī Mā. 5th lord is having 2-12 relation with Lagna lord, and I don’t consider 2-12 as a problem.
Student: do you take 6-8 and 3-11 as a problematic relation?
Guruji: Yes, 6-8, and 3-11 can become a problem.
Student: So, planet in 6th and 11th from the Lagna lord are the worst?
Guruji: Yes, planets in 6th and 11th from Lagna lord, are the worst. So, Śukra is not in a bad position from Lagna lord. The house which are in worst position from the Lagna lord in the 10th house, are 3rd house and 8th house because they are in 6th and 11th from Lagna lord, respectively. And, you will have understanding these houses. But there is no such problem. She has the 9th house kind of bhakti. The bhakti having rules and regulations. It is the not the bhakti where one becomes totally engrossed.
Student 2: I have it
Guruji: For whose is it? Lakṣmī Mā?
Student 2: For Durgā Mā.
Guruji: Why is it Durgā and Lakṣmī Mā, can you explain?
Student 2: Because it is in Martial sign.
Guruji: No. That is not the reason. I want a clear answer. Where is Rāhu in your chart?
Student 2: 12th house.
Guruji: Rāhu has no relation to 5th house.
Student: (…)
Guruji: Explain please..
Student: (…)
Guruji: Yes, there is an explanation. Do you remember that I explain the thing about Candra and Śukra in 5th house? Either it will be Śukra or it will be opposite of Śukra, i.e., Candra. There is no planet in your 5th house. So, we will check it from the lord of 5th house. 5th lord is Śukra and has runaway to opposite sign, so, something is opposite. The opposite of Śukra is Candra, that is why it is Durgā. Similarly, remember the opposites. When Sūrya is in 5th house, either there will be devotion towards Sūrya Deva, or it will be for Viṣṇu Ji. Because Budha is opposite of Sūrya. It depends on the placement of Lagneśa and where is this 5th house with respect to Lagneśa. If 5th lord is exalted, etc, then that bhakti will prevail. Or if it is in enemy’s sign or debilitation, or neutral sign; it will be the opposite graha that will denote the bhakti. So, her Śukra is in Maṅgala’s sign and that too in Vṛścika, so, she will choose the opposite of Śukra. So, it is Durgā. Śukra is harassing her, annoying her, troubling her. Hence, she has run towards Durgā.
When I was undergoing Budha Mahādaśā and Śukra antardaśā, I was facing many problems in my life. So, my mother took my horoscope and went to the place where my ancestors belong to, the copper plate oracle in Odisha. His name is just to read it whatever appears on the copper plate. Then we note it down and bring it to home and check why he said it. So, he made absolutely correct prediction about me. He said that I have Śukra in 5th house and I would have police cases and court case against me. He recommended me to worship Durgā. These problems are caused by a woman. So, he was not wrong. Think calmly, I was undergoing Budha mahādaśā and Śukra antardaśā, and Śukra is in my 5th house. He has the power to torment me, so, Śukra bullied me, tormented me. Mahadasa was of 7th lord Budha, and antardaśā was of Śukra. Budha Mahādaśā was superb for me, it was a Śukra antardaśā which was hell. Remedy given to me was not Lakṣmī Mā worship. It was Durgā worship. Because Śukra was tormented me. Whenever graha torments you, use opposite formula. You have to check if the graha in 5th house is helping you or is it tormenting you? That is the thing you have to check.
For example if somebody has Sūrya in 5th house, then the father can also torment him or control him? So, what should the person do if such a Sūrya is tormenting the person? Viṣṇu worship will solve this problem. You will see that the people who have strained relation with their father, will be able to solve this issue, if they start worshiping Viṣṇu. It will work. Remember this opposite formula. Shall we go back to our formula? Do you understand why is it Durgā for her? Next chart:
Student: (….)
Guruji: You cannot go back and change the past. Like I cannot do anything about the dog bite. Śani tormented me in his antardaśā. In Śani antardaśā, I was forced to do engineering.
Student: So, if there is no graha in 5th house, we have to take the lord?
Guruji: We have to take the lord. But, if there is no planet in 5th house, then there is no problem. But keep in mind, that those are your weak points. You all have weak points.
Student 3: Chart has Vṛścika Lagna. Since the starting of Guru daśā, the relationship with husband has become very, very bad.
Guruji: please tell me the chart.
Student 3: Lagneśa Maṅgala is in 2nd house.
Guruji: So, Vṛścika is Lagna and Maṅgala is in 2nd house.
Student 3: Rāhu is in 4th house, Śukra and Ketu is in 10th, Candra in the 8th house, 11th house has SūryGuru, Sūrya and Budha. As soon as Guru’s daśā started, both have been very inimical to each other.
Guruji: Guru is going to break the marriage. Look at the Upapada. Upapada is in Mithuna Rāśi, Guru is 2nd lord and 7th lord from that. Guru is badhakesh and 7th lord from upapada. From UpapadGuru is the 7th lord, so, Guru is maraka. From Upapāda, Maṅgala is in 7th house. That means this person wants to break the marriage. (Maṅgala is Lagneśa).
Student 3: No, she does not want to break the marriage.
Guruji: Okay, then where is Ketu?
Student 3: Ketu is in 10th with Śukra.
Guruji: That means Maṅgala is not indicating this person. We won’t take his ārūḍha Lagna in Makara. We should take the ārūḍha Lagna according to Ketu, and is in Kumbha. Because Ketu is stronger than Maṅgala. Ketu is with a planet, Maṅgala is without a planet. That means her nature is indicated by Ketu. That means she is a spiritual and good person. So, the ārūḍha Lagna and upapada Lagna are in mutual trines, so, it means she likes the husband very much. But 7th lord is in 10th house with Ketu, that means the husband will be unpredictable.Upapāda is with Candra.
Student 3: So, is there any remedy?
Guruji: Wednesday fasting and worshiping Viṣṇu Bhagavān. It is compulsory. It requires her to be completely vegetarian. She is still a brilliant person because she has Lagna lord in 10th house. She has blessings from Gaṇeśa Ji. I am taking Ketu as Lagneśa. She is not at all Maṅgala. See how many graha are in trikona to that Candra in Upapada
Student 3: Rāhu and Candra.
Guruji: So, she has two kids. Right?
Student 3: Yes.
Guruji: That’s how you catch how many kids the person has, because it is the trine to upapada for kids. Kids come from marriage. So, graha in trine to upapada, give kids. That is the fruit of marriage. One kid will be very favorable, while the other kid will give tensions. (Candra and Rāhu).
Student 3: So, can we use this and advise some person if their future marriage is going to break?
Guruji: You will be able to do that only if that is in the bhagya of the native. It depends on Bhagya. Kids are destined to come. You tell me, is it not important for the kids to come to this world?
Student 3: 5th house is empty and Guru is aspecting its own house.
Guruji: It should be opposite of Guru, so, Śani.
Student 3: Śani is debilitated in 6th house.
Guruji: That is Good. Thats very good she is very competitive, very brilliant, she always duffer from jealousy of her enemies, there will be so much jealousy.
Student: Śani is retrograde.
Guruji: That’s also nice. But she had Sūrya and Guru in 11th house, very nice person. If she fasts on wednesdays, everything will change. Where is Budha?
Student 3: Guru Budha and Sūrya are in 11th house.
Guruji: the marriage is a good marriage but the question is that he gets disturbed
Student 3: The question is, will the divorce happen?
Guruji: It is hard to save. 2nd lord from upapada is Candra and is in Candrāṣṭama Doṣa. Candra will give maximum 10 years to marriage. When was she married?
Student 3: (….)
Guruji: Yes, it will be maximum 9 to 10 years in marriage.
Student: (….)
Guruji: What can do now. The husband is thinking that she will never be able to understand me. The upapada is in the 11th house from Paka Lagna. You have to take Ketu as Lagneśa otherwise whole calculation will be wrong. She can’t understand what the husband wants because of this 3-11 relationship. If Candra is with Ātmakāraka, or if Kārakāṃśa is in Kark Rāśi, whenever Candra enters these personal relationships, know that the person will run after other married women. If that is Guru, (for female horoscope) then he personal will go after other married Men. That’s why that curse came over Candra. Candra ran away with Tara (wife of Guru). So, she already knew that he was this kind of person because Candra is in Upapada and having Candra-ashtama doṣa.
Guruji: How? Check where is Rāhu. Is Rāhu aspecting Candra?
Student 3: Rāhu is in 4th house.
Guruji: Yes, Rāhu caused that cheating. Rāhu in 4th causes severe kind of cheating to the native. It means that she did not know about her husband, and she was shocked.
Why does she wants to live with him?
Student 3: (….)
Guruji: The more you drag it, the worst it is for the kids. It’s stupid. See, it has been studied that in most of the schizophrenia cases, the childhood, children had seen major separations or fighting between parents. The more fighting they see, and the longer the fighting is dragged, more chances are of developing mental disorders. Separation happens and then peace comes thereafter. But if fight drags, that is like there is continuous fire in the house, there are high chances of developing schizophrenia. All of us have schizophrenia because all of us have seen our parents fight. All of us. We should accept it. The more fights that have happened between our parents, that much schizophrenia has developed in us. Actually if you ask me frankly, the husband is not going to change, he is unlikely to improve himself. Rāhu in 4th house is so terrible that God should save her from this. This Rāhu will cheat her so badly inside her home, just terrible. Whereas, Ketu means mistake, and mistakes can be made by anybody. But that is a mistake. Rāhu means cheating, he knew that he was cheating.
Student 3: Rāhu is in Kumbha
Guruji: That means it is more powerful. There is no one other than Kṛṣṇa who can cut this situation. Because this Candra is in Gemini and Budha is exalted, and Candra is in Rāśi of Budha. So, Śubhapati is Budha. So, this Candra is Kṛṣṇa. So, it is Kṛṣṇa specifically, also according to Praśna Mārga. It is Kṛṣṇa who has that power to cut that Rāhu because Budha can cut Rāhu. So, only through Kṛṣṇa can we ensure that this Candra also becomes favorable, and Budha is favorable and Rāhu is cut-out. You see that? One remedy for three planets, that is how you should give remedies. So, she needs a Kṛṣṇa Mantra. Budha is in 11th house. So, Sarbani! Please tell me an 11-syllable Kṛṣṇa Mantra.
Student (Gurvi Sarbani Ji): Om Klīṃ Gopījanavallabhāya Svāhā. Or just Klīṃ Gopījanavallabhāya Svāhā.
Guruji: Klīṃ Gopījanavallabhāya Svāhā. Budha is in 11th house. Please always give mantra according to akshara. See, she has (Gurvi Sarbani) has Rāhu in 5th house, and see how she has told appropriate mantra. If you ask me, “she should leave him, because it is good for the kids”. Candraashtama is very bad and is additionally worse because Candra is also badhakesh. Oh My God, it is unbelievable. So, he is like the husband of Dimple Kapadia, what was his name?
Student: Rajesh Khanna.
Guruji: We were shocked to hear about that man, he used to bring another woman in front of his wife. Can you believe it? And she had to see all this. Such a pervert. If kids see him doing this, what effect will it have on them? Leave him, trust me. He is foolish. Because of Candra Aṣṭama, she had to see this torment for 10 years.
Student 3: How did you say Candra will break?
Guruji: Because Candra rules sustenance (2nd) from Upapāda. This is a small example. There are so many used for periods of Viṃśottarī Daśā.
Student: (….)
Guruji: Naturally! Check for the good planet which is saving her. Problem is regarding marriage. So, we saw Upapāda. The lord of Upapāda is Budha. So, Budha denotes Viṣṇu. Now we see which avatar of Viṣṇu. Budha is in Virgo, and is exalted. So, it is a sāttvika form, Kṛṣṇa and Rāma, ideally. We are at that sāttvika level. So, now we know that Candra is causing this issue, So, it is Kṛṣṇa. There is no doubt. Who other than Kṛṣṇa can cut Rāhu? When somebody has Rāhu in the 4th house, then the only solution for the person, is to take the name of Kṛṣṇa. You take it from me. You won’t find any other solution. A person having Rāhu in 4th house will see sorrow through his/her entire life.
Student: Have you taken Budha as a solution for Rāhu from the concept of Kāla Cakra?
Guruji: Yes, definitely. In Kālacakra, opposite of Rāhu, is Budha. (in Kālacakra, Rāhu is kalagraha in North-East, while Budha is kala-graha in South-West direction). So, Budha indicates Viṣṇu Bhagavān. The kāraka of 4th house is Candra. That’s we have taken Kṛṣṇa avatar of Viṣṇu Bhagavān. If Rāhu is in 4th house, nobody can save you, only Kṛṣṇa can. I have Rāhu in 4th house, that is why I am telling you. When that Rāhu will hit, there will be only one way to be saved, Kṛṣṇa. Other people will be surprised to see how you get saved from such situations. Rāhu will hit you, and Kṛṣṇa will save. But the condition is that you have to be completely non-violent. If you trust the lord, then don’t do violence, and so, you have to take his shelter. He will take care. That faith should be in you. If you don’t have that faith, Kṛṣṇa will not come.
Student 3: (….)
Guruji: This person is spiritual, there is no doubt in it. But people who have Lagneśa in 10th house, they believe more on Karma.
Student: (….)
Guruji: That is not the reason Sara. You see, her ārūḍha is in Kumbha. 7th from ārūḍha Lagna is Siṃha Rāśi. Are both signs equally strong? Which sign is stronger? Siṃha is more powerful. So, it means a change must have come in her life. And when she would be 25-26 years old, she must have started believing a lot in God and then she would have very spiritual, very extreme. Ketu means blind spirituality.
Student 3: She is not spiritual.
Guruji: Spirituality is different from religiosity. Religiosity is zero because 9th lord is in 8th house. Religiosity is like going to temple, doing japa.
Student 3: (….)
Guruji: 5th lord is well placed. There is no doubt that 5th lord is aspecting 5th house. The 7th from Ārūḍha is much stronger than the ārūḍha. It’s same like Aurobindo. Aurobindo was not at all spiritual. He went to jail because he was throwing a bomb somewhere. You see the chart of Aurobindo.
Student: He was a freedom fighter.
Guruji: But its not morally correct to throw bomb on two ladies. How could that bring freedom to Bhārata? I don’t agree, what’s wrong is wrong. He has Rāhu in Ārūḍha in taurus. But Kṛṣṇa changed the whole game. Kṛṣṇa cut Rāhu. Study the horoscope of Aurobindo and study how the ārūḍha changes. And who can change the ārūḍha. Kṛṣṇa cuts Rāhu like anything. Kṛṣṇa will just cut Rāhu out. You cannot imagine. Kṛṣṇa will just cut Rāhu out. And when he cuts Rāhu out, the opposite to Rāhu, is becoming stronger. So, that is when the person becomes very spiritual. And Ketu does not have a head. So, blind spirituality. So, the Writings of Aurobindo on the Bhakti of Kṛṣṇa are very important to understand bhakti. He had clear vision of Kṛṣṇa, Kṛṣṇa said: “You will not even debate with the lawyer, I will send the lawyer. I will fight the case. I will take you out. You will now stop all this and devote yourself”. And when the lawyer came, he stopped speaking. He thought, “Why should I talk, Kṛṣṇa will save me, if not, I will die, but I will not debate”. At that point, suddenly, a lawyer who had stopped practicing law, decided to take up his case, and he did only that one case. He was the greatest lawyer at that time. And he won. Aurobindo came out of jail. The entire heart of the people changed, everything changed. It’s very interesting. Aurobindo totally surrendered to Kṛṣṇa. I have studied it very carefully. I have followed the daśās. How that daśā, “Scorpio daśā came, he went to jail, and all that had to happen in jail”. Please study that. Because the ārūḍha problem is there. That Rāhu in ārūḍha means, the head ought to be cut off. He had so much ego before that he was educated in Landon and all that. All the ahaṃkāra was finished when he had to go to jail. Then the Aurobindo we know, was born.
Student: (….)
Guruji: Shifting of Arūḍha is definitely possible. Never take it blindly that the ārūḍha from birth will continue for entire life. It changes in lifetime. It shifts according to daśā. It jumps in 7th from itself.
The advantage is that if you have Rāhu and Ketu axis, and you take the name of Kṛṣṇa, then Rāhu will get cut and you will stick to this Ketu’s mokṣa kāraka side. Because Budha will cut Rāhu out. This is the advantage. That is why Budha and Guru have digbalaa in Lagna. They protect your Buddhi and protect your Lagna. Budha is Viṣṇu and Guru is Śiva. Next chart:
Student 4: Maṅgala in 5th house,
Guruji: Maṅgala in 5th house.
Student 4: ( …)
Guruji: So, Lagneśa is gone into 6th house, and Maṅgala is in 5th house. It’s peculiar. So, tell me the devatā for this?
Student: (….)
Guruji: No, Maṅgala is sitting enemy’s house.
Student: (….)
Guruji: Enemy’s house. So, Maṅgala is tormenting him. His work has to do with speculation, see the 10th lord in 5th house. Because of Maṅgala, his speculation is disturbed.
Student: Hanumān for Maṅgala
Guruji: No, Maṅgala is in enemy’s sign. So, tell me the opposite.
Student: Why are we trying to find the opposite?
Guruji: Why should I not take the opposite? Achyuta Das told me to worship the opposite.
Student: Maṅgala is afflicted. Why Maṅgala is not giving him good results.
Guruji: How will it give him good results? It is sitting in enemy’s house. So, tell me the opposite. In opposite-formula, the opposite of Maṅgala, is Śani. What will you say about the devatā of Śani? Brahma?
Student: Brahma
Guruji: So, tell me the devatā related to Śani.
Student: Narayan.
Guruji: Śani will indicate something, tell me the devatā indicated by Śani. Who do you worship?
Student 4: Śiva.
Guruji: Why Śiva? Is Guru related to 5th house?
Student: Guru is with the 5th lord.
Guruji: Ohh, you should have already told me that. 5th lord Budha is with Guru, so, he likes Śiva. But I have a question. He chooses 5th lord instead of the planet in 5th house, so, he is foolish. But tell me the truth: 5th lord and 3rd lord have exchange. Like my 5th lord is Candra and aspecting Budha, so, I WILL worship Viṣṇu and Kṛṣṇa. But, let’s leave that for a moment. But I want to solve my problem. What he is doing will not solve his problem. Worshipping Śiva, will not solve his problems. Problem will solve when he does something for Śani. Problem is coming from Maṅgala because Maṅgala is tormenting him. Maṅgala is slowly, slowly destroying his career. There is nothing wrong in worshipping Śiva. This will not solve Maṅgala problem in 5th house because this Maṅgala in 5th house is going to continue to torment you. His life is not coming on track. Your whole life is not coming on track if you are not going to keep that 5th house planet propitiated. The planet conjoining the 5th lord shows a devatā whom you love a worship. Likewise, I love to worship Kṛṣṇa. Next chart/
Guruji: What is the planet who is with the 5th lord?
Student 5: Budha and Maṅgala.
Guruji: Budha and Maṅgala. And which are the planets that are in the 5th house?
Student 5: Rāhu and Śukra are in 5th house. They are in 6th from the Lagneśa.
Guruji: Śukra is very bad. So, who is the opposite of Śukra that you should worship?
Student 5: Candra
Guruji: Which devī/devatā is indicated by Candra?
Student 5: Devī
Guruji: It can also be Durgā.
Student 5: Durgā.
Guruji: So, either we take Śukra or we take Rāhu, there is only name that is coming in 5th house: Durgā. So, as long as you keep worshiping Durgā, your life will stay in track. If you become lose in your devotion to Durgā Mātā, these graha in 5th house will start tormenting you. Firstly, there should not be any planet in 5th house.
Student: there is parivartan of 5th lord with 3rd lord.
Guruji: Parivartan doesn’t matter. The planet that is sitting in 5th house, is not at all concerned with parivartan. This planet will not let go of the 5th house because he is sitting in prime seat of power in the chart. Tomorrow if you say to prime minister, you do my work, I do your work, he will leave his prime minister power for you. That is 5th house, nobody gives up 5th house. Tell me about your chart
Student 6: Śani, Candra, Rāhu and Sūrya are in 5th house.
Guruji: in which house it is from Lagneśa?
Student 6: There are two Lagneśa, from Maṅgala, it is 12th, and from Ketu it is 7th.
Guruji: Which is stronger?
Student 6: Ketu is stronger.
Guruji: okay, now tell me the devatā for 5th house. Among these planets, who are in friendly signs.
Student: Sūrya and Candra
Guruji: Among these Sūrya and Candra, who are in the better sign? Because it is water sign, so, Candra is in a better sign than Sūrya. But if the same combination was in Sagittarius, then you will say, Sūrya is stronger. Because that is a fire sign. So, now we have Candra is a water sign, to be the strongest indicator. And, it will be in a friendly sign, so, it will be a mother indicator. Right? What is the form of mother because of this indication?
Student 6: It should be Durgā or Kālī.
Guruji: Durgā or Kālī because of the effects of the two Vāyu planets. So, it is Kālī. Next chart.
Student 7: No planet in 5th. 5th lord Śukra is in 9th house with Sūrya.
Guruji: Śukra is in friendly sign or inimical sign or what kind of a sign?
Student: inimical
Guruji: How is it inimical. It is a friendly sign. It is in Śani’s sign and Śukra is friendly to Śani. But it is with Sūrya. So, we are talking of some form of enemy. So, instead of Lakṣmī Mā, it would be Durgā. Do you Durgā more or you like Lakṣmī Mā more? You like Durgā more?
Student: yes.
Guruji: Same story. Do you see the story?
Student: there is exchange.
Guruji: doesn’t matter. These 5th house don’t change bhāva but change other things. Bhāva remains the same. It is showing Durgā. You like Durgā and that is a confirmation.
Student 8: Ketu is in 5th house and Lagneśa is in 10th house.
Guruji: It means Gaṇeśa is sitting in 5th house, and you are saying why is Gaṇeśa sitting in my 5th house. So, you should worship Gaṇeśa. And by your nature, you must be very duty bound. Ketu in 5th makes you very duty bound. This is in a difficult house from Lagneśa, so, it will be tough for him to worship Gaṇeśa. Even if there was a Rāśi dṛṣṭi, it would solve easily.
5th house is very important. If 5th house is not well, there is no clear direction in life. You don’t know what you are doing and why you are doing it. Who is a lunatic person? Suppose a person stands in front of president’s home and says, “Mr. President please come outside, I will make a temple in place of your house, please empty the room, I want to do Pūjā”. Wont you call him a lunatic? His Citta is not working correctly. You will know what to do, at the right time, and what is reasonable. Reasonableness comes from 5th house.
Student 9: Lagna is Tulā. Śukra is in Lagna. Candra is in 5th house.
Guruji: Candra will indicate who
Student 9: Gaurī
Guruji: Why not Lakṣmī Mā
Student: (…)
Guruji: Your Buddhi has become so slow. Is it in a friendly sign or inimical sign? Then it should be Lakṣmī Mā. Note it. Focus on Money.
Student 10: Aries Lagna. 5th house has Maṅgala and Rāhu
Guruji: Meṣa Lagna but Maṅgala is in 5th house with Rāhu.
Student: (….)
Guruji: Maṅgala is in friendly sign. And hence, Maṅgala is stronger. Maṅgala indicates Skanda and Hanumān.
Student 9: Also Durgā Mā.
Guruji: Durgā Bhakti is also there but Hanumān Bhakti is very strong. As long as there is name of Hanumān on your tongue, your life will go smooth.
Student 11: 5th lord is Maṅgala. And with Budha.
Guruji: So, what is the bhakti?
Student 11: Hanumān Ji
Guruji: Who do you like to worship?
Student 11: Viṣṇu Ji.
Guruji: Why Viṣṇu
Student 11: Because Budha is Ātmakāraka
Guruji: What kind of logic is this? My Ātmakāraka is Śani, so, I should start worshiping Brahma?
Student 11: Budha is with Maṅgala
Guruji: So, why Maṅgala and not Budha? If 5th house is empty. Then take the 5th lord and see which graha is yuti with 5th lord. Among all the graha yuti 5th lord, the sāttvika graha will show its effect first. Budha is there so, it is Viṣṇu. If 5th lord would have been with Guru, it would be Śiva. Budha and Guru will come first in line. Form a ranking. Put Budha and Guru on first place. Śiva and Viṣṇu are always first. If they are there, then other devtas become insignifican’t. When a graha is sitting with 5th lord, you have to ignore the 5th lord, and take the other graha. Next chart.
Student 12: Siṃha Lagna.
Guruji: Siṃha Lagna.
Student 12: (….)
Guruji: Your Lagneśa is in 5th house?
Student 12: Yes.
Guruji: So, if Candra and Ketu are in 5th whom do you consider strongest? Ketu is exalted. Candra is eclipsed. It is a eclipsed situation. Technically, it should be Gaṇeśa. If you ask me, I recommend Gaṇeśa so that your life runs smoothly. If you agree with that, what should you do about Candra? Exalted Ketu will not cause any issue. The grahan Candra will cause problems. Tell me its remedy. You have two planets, you cannot ignore the other planet. When the daśā of Candra will come it will torment you so much that you will know its importance. Candra is afflicted and eclipsed. So, opposite is Śukra, and thus Lakṣmī Mā is your deity. You need to worship Lakṣmī Mā so that you are more stable in finances. Otherwise there can be a lot of problems related to your relationships and finances. Generally you will observe that you may be forced to go from one place to the other and you may be forced to go and live in places you don’t like to live. For example, how long have you been in Delhi?
Student: since birth
Guruji: Since birth. So, you are very happy over here and marriage is fine. So, Candra has not created any problem for you. Where is your upapada?
Student: 10th house
Guruji: you also never had any other girlfriend. So, basically you have no such problems. Think what I saying, think. Śukra means respecting the Griha Lakṣmī Mā. Think on what I am saying, Lakṣmī Mā Vrata is the best. Respect Lakṣmī Mā like other devī devtas, and you will see that you will live a very happy life with your family.
Student 13: I have Sūrya and Budha in the 5th houses in Mīna.
Guruji: So, which is the deity
Student 13: Śiva
Guruji: why Śiva? Why not Sūrya as the devatā
Student: Sūrya.
Guruji: Sūrya is in his friend’s sign, but it is in Jala. That is the problem. I have same problem. We both must be more regular in Sūrya worship. It’s in Jala so, I forget and you also forget to worship Sūrya. What have you thought about Budha? That is a debilitated Budha. That is a problem.
So, you have to take the opposite of Budha. So, Sūrya has got doublt importance now in your 5th house because the opposite of Budha is Sūrya. Otherwise you will not get financial stability. Worshiping Sūrya, will bring financial stability to you. Next chart:
Student 14: No planet in 5th house.
Guruji: Very lucky.
Student 14: 5th lord Budha is in Lagna with Śukra.
Guruji: I had already told you about Śukra. Śukra is the graha you should focus on.
Student 14: Lagna lord Rāhu is in 3rd house.
Guruji: Lagna lord is not important
Student 14: 5th lord is in 11th from the Lagneśa.
Guruji: Ohhh….it means that it can cause severe punishment.
Student 14: Śani is in 2nd house
Guruji: Rāhu is stronger and all these planets are in 11th from your Lagneśa. Have you had any Śukra type problem in your life. If you don’t want to reveal, that’s totally fine.
Student 14: wife or women?
Guruji: Yes, wife or women..
Student 14: Yes, little bit.
Guruji: Okay. So, should you worship Lakṣmī Mā or should you worship Durgā?
Student: Yes. Lakṣmī Mā is indicated because Śukra is in friendly sign.
Student 15: Mithuna is the janm Lagna and Budha is in 5th house.
Guruji: Beautiful. Do you like Viṣṇu Bhagavān? If you don’t worship, Viṣṇu, please start it and bring your life on track. Start chanting Hare Kṛṣṇa.
Student 15: My marriage had happened in a Kṛṣṇa temple. Father in law was staying there
Guruji: Your father in law was staying in a Kṛṣṇa temple? So, what is the indication? That whenever something good is going to happen in your life, Kṛṣṇa will be definitely linked to that and will leave a mark to indicate that, “see, I came”. Because he is in the 5th house.
Student 15: My father in law was staying in that temple. So, after marriage, I stayed there for 5 years.
Guruji: You stayed inside Kṛṣṇa temple after marriage for 5 years? People like you have such auspicious bhagya. You lives there, ate there did everything there.
Student 15: Whenever bhoga had to prepared, I used to prepare that Bhoga for the temple, for all the three times of the day. My mother in law lived there and she was totally into devotion to Kṛṣṇa. So, she used to ask me to prepare bhoga for the temple.
Guruji: Look at that, what would you say to that.
Student 15: But I had to do a lot of household activities, so, I did not have the time to go to temple and sit and chant mantra.
Guruji: You are truthful about that fact. The point that I am trying to make is, What is Bhakti? Bhakti is not a feeling of something. It is like a mother’s duty for the child, she was duty-bound to Kṛṣṇa. So, the mother had to run whenever child cries and calls her.
But no matter how busy you were every day but you still had to prepare three times bhoga for Kṛṣṇa daily. Kṛṣṇa is sitting in your citta, 24 hours a day. Because the condition is no rules, no timings. If you start applying rules, regulation and procedures to this bhakti, then it is all 9th house and not the 5th house. Differentiate between 5th and 9th. If you want to worship Kṛṣṇa, do 5th house kind of bhakti. The deity which you will like from heart is indicated by 5th lord. But the deity sitting inside the 5th house, like in this case, its like a mother-child relationship. It’s like he is sitting inside your citta 24 hours a day.
Student 15: I have 5th lord Śukra in the 3rd house.
Guruji: Do you like Durgā?
Student 15: I like Cāmuṇḍā Mā very much.
Guruji: See, it fits, it is your 5th lord, and it is what your heart likes. Look at me, Sūrya is in my 5th house, and its like he is saying to me, “You fool! I will give you Jyotiṣa, this world respects you because of your Jyotiṣa, which I have given to you”. You have to focus on the planet in 5th house. If there IS a graha in your 5th house, then you have to focus on this more than the 5th lord. I keep doing Isht Devatā calculations for myself and I am blind in my love for Jagannath. But, who is the one actually given me a good life? Sūrya has given me Jyotiṣa, and wherever Sūrya shows up, I can’t lose. I always win in Sūrya related things. So, Sūrya is my Guru. He has given me all this good in my life. So, what should I do? Should I not worship Sūrya? I should.
Student: So, I should start worshiping Viṣṇu.
Guruji: Yes, although you can carry on with your worship of Cāmuṇḍā Mātā, but Viṣṇu or Kṛṣṇa is more important. Offer Bhoga daily.
Student 16: I have Mīna Rāśi in the 5th house, and Guru in the 7th.
Guruji: There are no planets in the 5th?
Student 16: There are no planets. Aspected by Sūrya and Maṅgala in Vṛścika in Lagna.
Guruji: Sūrya and Maṅgala in Vṛścika in Lagna? Wow! You must have started astrology in little age.
Student 16: No, No.
Guruji: May be you were interested in astronomy and things like that?
Student 16: No.
Guruji: Okay. Which is the devatā indicated by Guru? 5th lord Guru is in 7th house. It should give Śiva’s devotion, has it?.
Student 16: No. It is not so.
Guruji: Where are Budha and Śukra?
Student 16: Budha, Śukra and Ketu are in 12th house.
Guruji: Please note! Budha, Ketu and Śukra are having Rāśi dṛṣṭi on Guru. Whereas Sūrya and Maṅgala are having graha Dṛṣṭi. People don’t agree with me when I say Rāśi dṛṣṭi is important. See now. So, which dṛṣṭi will decide bhakti?
Student 16: Rāśi dṛṣṭi.
Guruji: Because of the Rāśi dṛṣṭi of Budha and Śukra, she will be easily devoted to Rādhā and Kṛṣṇa. That house is 12th house, so, mukti and all that. Were you feeling cold just now?
Student 16: Yes
Guruji: You didn’t say a word, but you just came here and put if off. And we were just talking about the Rāśi dṛṣṭi of Budha and Śukra. Kṛṣṇa keeps you with such comfort. This is the thing about the 5th house and mantra. It works automatically without you even saying a word. It is like Ramana Maharshi. He did not even used to talk. There is no need to talk. What is there to talk. If you just focus on the deity, and everything gets done without even uttering a word. So, as an astrologer, I will say, “You should chant the name Rādhā-Kṛṣṇa”.
I have Sūrya and Śukra in my 5th house. Śukra torments me and I have to worship Durgā Mā. Sūrya is in my 5th house, and I have to do Gāyatrī Mantra, and worship Sūrya in aṣṭa-dala padma, but I forget it daily Sara. What can I do? I just forget. My 5th lord is Candra and it is having yoga of 4th lord with 5th lord, and 5th lord with 7th lord, that is, Budha-Candra yoga, so, I just remember Kṛṣṇa and listening to his bhajans.
Gurvi Sarbani Ji: Sūrya in 5th is Śiva according to many texts
Guruji: Some texts say that Sara. But they are actually confusing Śiva with Sūrya. Sūrya is Sūrya and Guru is Śiva.
My Gurudev gave me that copper made Aṣṭa-dala Padma of Sūrya, and what did I do? I lost it somewhere. Yes, I have to get that made.
