Guruji: So, your biggest problem is that the doctor is unable to find the disease. Tell me your kuṇḍalī.
Student: Lagna is Mithuna. Candra and Ketu are in Lagna.
Guruji: Candra and Ketu are in Lagna. First and foremost, you should know that whenever Ketu is in Lagna, either Rāhu in Lagna or Ketu in Lagna, the doctor will not be able to catch the disease easily. The native will be normal healthy, and then suddenly fall sick and the doctors will not be able to catch the diseases easily. This happens especially with Ketu. The reason is very simple: nodes have a weird effect on Lagna. In today’s class also, I am going to teach about Lagna. Like we studied the 9th house that day, some basic ground rules, likewise, we will study Lagna today. What is Lagna and what is the effect of Lagna. And what is the importance of Lagna. I don’t need the chart, you tell me the chart. I don’t need any chart. First see that Ketu is sitting in Lagna and Candra is also sitting in Lagna. Rāhu is Nīca in Bādhaka. Rāhu being in Bādhaka, is very harmful for the native. It indicates Sarpa doṣa. If there is Sarpa doṣa in the kuṇḍalī, then first you have to know where do the Sarpa come. How is the Bādhaka affecting you, and how is your health getting ruined?
Student: 7th lord is in 8th house.
Guruji: In Gocara, Rāhu is transitting over your Lagna lord. Is that clear? (after giving medicine for one month, the doctor came to know that the medicine that the native was being prescribed, was not the correct medicine, and now the doctors were trying to find the correct medicine). What should we do to help the doctors? Jyotiṣa, this knowledge, is supposed to help the doctors. Rāhu’s Gocara is on the Lagnaesh, so, what is the degree of your Lagnaesh?
Student: 1deg 5min.
Guruji: Right! It means that it is in the first Drekkāṇaa. Look how I am analyzing the Lagnaesh in matters of health. First I looked at the Lagna and saw Ketu in Lagna, and Ketu is in Candra in Mithuna Lagna, that means that Rāhu is debilitated in Bādhaka. When Rāhu will Gocara over the Lagnaesh, this Bādhaka will automatically get activated. Now, focus on this point very carefully. If there is a pāpa grahaa in Bādhaka Rāśi, worst is Rāhu, then there is Śani, and then there is Maṅgala, and then Sūrya, in the decreasing order of malevolence. Rāhu and Ketu are absolutely worst in Bādhaka Rāśi. If they are in Bādhaka, that means that they will start creating Bādhaka in your life when they are transitting over the Lagnaesh. This is when Rāhu and Ketu are transitting over the Lagnaeśa, not on the Lagna. On the āLagnaesh! Because basically, they are hitting your intelligence. Bādhaka starts when your intelligence starts going down a wrong path.
Student: So, for this to happen, they must be sitting on the Bādhaka?
Guruji: Yes, they must be sitting in the Bādhaka Rāśi. If they are not sitting over there, how can they create obstacles?
Student: What if there is not grahaa in the Bādhaka?
Guruji: If there is no graha in the Bādhaka, then you have to take the lord. But the lord will not do as much damage as the graha sitting in Bādhaka. A graha sitting in Bādhaka shows that you are having Bādhaka Doṣa. Suppose if Śani is sitting on the Bādhaka Rāśi, that means that you really have Śani Doṣa. If Rāhu is sitting in the Bādhaka, then, that is a serious matter. Don’t take it lightly. See, my dear student, Visti Larsen has Rāhu in Bādhaka Rāśi. You know how much he was afraid and disturbed when he first came here. I told him, “see, your Rāhu Daśā is starting”. I told him a whole list of remedies for this Rāhu Bādhaka. I told him, “listen to no one, trust me and do all these remedies, even if you have to do them all by yourself, just do them. Even if you wait for someone to go with you and do this remedies (like family members, or parents etc), there will be so much obstacles standing in your way. Just keep chanting the “Hare Rama Krishna”mantra and finish all these remedies”. He went to the Śiva Temple, and donated 9 little Gold made eggs, and did all the remedies I told him. His Rāhu-Daśā was so nice, he told me, “this Rāhu-Daśā is going like a Jupiter-Daśā”. See the effect of remedies. Remedies will always work.
Student: is it for Rāhu and Ketu or is it for other grahas also?
Guruji: Malefics, depending on what the malefics are.
Student: what if there is a Śubha grahaa
Guruji: if there is a Śubha graha in the Bādhaka Rāśi, it will remove the Bādhā. (Bādhā means obstacles, problems, suffering). Actually, that’s a very good thing, If Pāpa graha is sitting in Bādhaka, it will increase Bādhā. Bādhā is something evil. That evil is either being increased by evil grahaa or it is being decreased by good grahaa. The Bādhaka Rāśi is like a glass of water. How do you know if there is clean or dirty water in that glass? If there is evil grahaa, then the water inside that glass is dirty. If Śubha grahaa sit’s i in hat Rāśi, it filters the water. The more you filter, the cleaner the water will be.
Student: what if there are both evil and Śubha grahaa in the Bādhaka Rāśi?
Guruji: Then they will give their own result in their individual Daśā. Take care of your Bādhaka, it is very crucial. When will the effect of Bādhaka will show up? When that Pāpa grahaa, in Gocara, Rāhu is the special Kāraka of Bādhaka Rāśi, this I explained in detail in my Bādhaka paper. Everything has a Kāraka. For example, The Kāraka of Ārūḍha, is Candra. Kāraka of Lagna, is Sūrya. The opposite of Lagna is Bādhaka. That’s why the Kāraka of Bādhaka, is Rāhu. The way Rāhu puts Grahaaṇa to Sūrya, in the same manner, the Bādhaka does Grahaṇa to your Lagna and buddhi. 99% of cases that I seen, it is the Gocara (transit) of Rāhu over the Lagnaeśa that activates bādhaka on you, irrespective of Śani or Maṅgala or Sūrya in the bādhaka sthāna. This is the case when there is a paap graha in your bādhaka sthāna (Rāśi). Okay? Especially, when Rāhu transit’s in the Drekkāṇaa in which the Lagnaesh is placed, bādhaka is certainly activated. You can exactly time it. You check in which Rāśi, Rāhu is today. From a month or so, he has come in first Drekkāṇaa of Mīna. You have Lagnaeśa in that Drekkāṇa, as soon as Rāhu entered that Drekkāṇa, this problem of yours started (to a particular student). That means bādhaka has been activated by Rāhu. Your problem is in bādhaka. Until you pacify your bādhaka, no doctor can help you. Am I clear on this?
What is the best remedy for bādhaka? We are talking about the Grahaṇa of Rāhu on Sūrya. Here, Lagnaeśa is like Sūrya because Sūrya is the Kāraka of Lagna./ Bādhaka is like Rāhu, because Rāhu is the Kāraka of Bādhaka. So, we have to strengthen Sūrya. How to strengthen Sūrya? Gāyatrī mantra. I also told you from the start, to do Gāyatrī mantra. Gāyatrī mantra can save you. Because Gāyatrī mantra sharpens your intelligence. And if, buddhi is working, Bādhaka will resolve.
Student: (inaudible)
Guruji: See, a person who is sick, don’t have to necessarily, take bath and follow all the rules of mantra japa. This is for those who are healthy. If a healthy person is following the etiquette of mantra japa, then that is bad. But if your health is not right, and you are lying on the bed, how can you do all the niyama of mantra japa? You can at least listen to Gāyatrī mantra. Keep listening to the Gāyatrī mantra, that’s number one, for making the Sūrya strong. You Lagnaesh is Budha, so, go now to Āditya chakra, do you remember the Āditya chakra? Aṣṭa-dala Padma (aṣṭa = eight, dala = petal, padma = lotus), eight petal lotus of Sūrya (Āditya), it is the eight petal lotus or the Kāla Cakra of Āditya (Sūrya). It is very important. We will be doing the eight petal lotus in almost everything in Jyotiṣa.
East = Sūrya
South-East = Maṅgala
South = Guru
South-West = Rākṣasa, Budha sit’s there and removes the Rakshasas (demons).
West = Varuṇa. Śukra resides in the west direction. It is the also the Dig-bala of Śani, Śukra sit’s in west. Where there is Duḥkha (sorrow, Śukra gives you happiness. There is Duḥkha in the west because your evil karmas are being calculated, recorded in the west direction. So, it is the direction from where Duḥkha seeps in. Śukra sit’s here, and ensures happiness for you.
North-West = Vāyu Deva (the wind God). It is the direction or dig (as in Dig-bala) of Moon. This NW direction, gives you longevity. Moon decides your longevity, and Vāyu Deva can give you a very long life. As long as you breathe, you are alive.
The graha that resides here, is Śani. So, North-West where Śani sits, and Vayudeva gives Dig-bala to Moon. So, Śani is also the Kāraka of Longevity.
North = This is the dig of Budha. Here, you do karma yoga. The lord of Karma yoga is Kubera. This is why this is the direction of Kubera. The grahaa which can bring you out of this, or save you from Karma yoga, and gives you success in karma yoga, is Candra. That’s why Candra sit’s in north direction of Kālacakra.
So, you see carefully, I am teaching you two things here. One is grahaa and the dig of graha. Second is the graha who sit’s in this direction. The concept of a graha permanently sitting in a direction is totally different from the concept of the Dig-bala of a graha or dig of a grahaa. Like in north direction, Grahaa-dig is of Budha. Grahaa-Vaas is of Moon. It is the Kshetra of Kubera, that is Dhana, karma.
North-East = This is the Graha-dig of Bṛhaspati. This is where all the good karma are recorded and kept, I.e., Puṇya. It is the Uttama dig. Here, Īśāna Śiva is residing. Īśāna Śiva is the Parameṣṭhī Guru. There are four levels of Guru :
- Guru = your Guru. Om Gurave Namaḥ.
- Parama Guru = Guru of your Guru. Om Paramagurubhyo Namaḥ
- Parātpara Guru = Guru of Lineage. Om Parātparagurubhyo Namaḥ. This is the Guru who assembled all the knowledge of the Paramparā. Like, for some people, it is Guru Nanak. For some it might be some other Paramparā starter, like Vedavyāsa etc.
- Parameṣṭhī Guru = Īśāna Śiva. He is supporting all the lineages, and all the Gurus, that’s why he is the ultimate Guru of all the Gurus. Om Parameṣṭhī Gurubhyo Namaḥ.
North-East is the direction of good karmas, Puṇya-dig. But, here too, a Graha is powerful and is the Graha-vāsa. The Graha-vāsa in North-East, is of Rāhu.
Now you see that I talked of two chakra together. One was Dig-cakra, and the second was the Kāla-Chakra. I took two of them together. Dig-cakra tells me the karma that I want to do. Kāla-Chakra tells me, the vighna (obstacles) that is going to stand in my way. So, these are two things. There is a vighna creating Graha for every karma. In the direction of Sūrya, I.e., east direction, Sūrya himself is the vighna creating Graha. No other Graha can create vighna before Sūrya. This has two meanings. You are yourself responsible for your health and safety. You have to protect yourself, nobody else can be held responsible for it. Sūrya decides that.
South-East = This the Agni-Koṇa. Graha-dig is of Śukra. Agni and Śukra are closely linked. Agni is energy. Graha-vāsa is for Maṅgala. In marriage, seven rounds are done around Agni. Agni is Sākṣī for Vivāha. Dig-cakra can tell you who is the Sākṣī for which work. Like, Kāraka of marriage is Śukra. Sākṣī for marriage, is Agni. Dig-bala of Śukra comes from South-East. The devatā for Dig-bala of Śukra is Agni. Agni is proof of marriage. Vighna creator is Maṅgala. That’s why Maṅgala should be carefully seen in marriage ceremonies. That’s why Marriage should not be done on Tuesdays, not if Maṅgala is in Lagna, or in 8th house, during the time of marriage ceremony. If the native has Maṅgalika Doṣa, then we have to take care of that before matching the horoscopes before marriage, and should be taken care of. If Maṅgala is too strong and dominant, one should not marry, because Maṅgala means Brahmacarya. Brahmacarya is the vighna for Vivāha. If you want to keep Brahmacarya, you should not marry. Two things cannot go hand in hand. There are rare people like Thakur Ramakrishna, who maintained Brahmacarya even after marriage. That is very difficult, and is an impossible situation. Because that burns you from inside. So, even when you see a horoscope, we have to see both of these, together. We have to check Agni, Śukra as well as Maṅgala, simultaneously, for marriage. We can rectify the marriage of anyone, by worshipping Agni. Because he is the deva of that direction, South-East. Graha-dig is Śukra, and Graha-vāsa is Maṅgala. Deva is Agni. These directions are karmic directions. Graha-vāsa is also called the Kāla, and the word kāla, is not a nice word. It is the time that destroys you. Kāla means, everything gets destroyed with time or kāla. That is true.
Student: how to worship Agni
Guruji: there is mantra for Agni deva, and that’s very good for the marriage. Pacifying Agni Deva is so nice for Śukra.
East = Deva is Indra. Graha-dig is Sūrya, as well as, Graha-vāsa (kāla) is Sūrya. This is means you are responsible for yourself, for your karma, you will do for yourself, and you are yourself the vighna-creator for you. The story about Indra Deva = (there were thousand Yoni in the body of Indra, so that he will create life with that. All creation comes from yoni. Every being is created from yoni. That’s why Sūrya is the creator of the universe, he creates through yoni. The first dharma of Sūrya Graha is to do creation. That’s why when you want to check whether a person is able to have a child or not, don’t run straight away to Jupiter. First check Sūrya, if Sūrya is badly placed, it’s hard for the native to have children. If Sūrya is nicely placed, offspring will certainly come. That’s why Indra had thousand Yoni on his body. For this Jaimini has taught us to take 3rd house from Sūrya and 9th house from Sūrya, and then find it’s Ārūḍha, and see where that Ārūḍha is. If that is in a good placed, then that can give children, and if that is not in a nice place, it cannot give children. What is Kāla? When Indra came to realize that he was stuck in the repeated cycles of birth and death in the previous births, Indra Or indriya (indriya ia our senses, and is derived from the word indra), realized this and wanted knowledge for getting mukti from all the bad karma he had performed. Then, Bhagavān told me, “Indra, I bless you, that all these thousand Yonis will become 1000 eyes”. This blessing is called Indrākṣī. That’s why the thousand yonis he had in his body, became thousand eyes. And with the help of thousand eyes, indra got knowledge. Now, you can understand the meaning of Sūrya having Graha-dig as well as Graha-vāsa in east direction. Doing creation is the dharma of Sūrya, but after getting repeated births, you will think “what is all this happening and when will it finish, when you will realize this, your eyes will open, you will come to a realization, like Indra’s thousand yonis became thousand eyes.”Then you will get knowledge, and mukti is certain. Do you understand? The path of self realization is through knowledge. When we are talking of eyes and yonis, we are talking of Sūrya. When you will go to Konark Temple, the statues in lower part of the temple, you can’t go there with father and mother. But you go in upper part of the temple, is absolutely clear, not such thing there. There was no ornament inside the temple, absolutely clean. No ornaments, no embellishments, no design, nothing is there. All such things are for the mind. This is the story of Sūrya and East direction.
Dakshina dig / South Direction = this is the direction of Mṛtyu or death. Deva of this direction or dig, is Yamarāja. Kāraka is Maṅgala, Maṅgala is Kāraka of Mṛtyu. And, he is the strongest, when there is a war, or such thing, according to him, he would kill thousands of people at once. The stronger the Maṅgala is that much higher number of people will he kill at once. That’s why Maṅgala likes WAR, because he can kill a very large number of people at once. For a moment, forget about Maṅgala and think this: You have a house. And all of a sudden, 100 uninvited people enter your house, how would you feel. You can tolerate them for a little while, then you see that they have started breaking your home, somebody is breaking chair, table, etc., breaking things in kitchen. What will you do? How would you feel? Wouldn’t you feel that they should go from there? Wouldn’t you find ways to somehow oust them from your home? This is Maṅgala. This Earth is his home. You are a guest here. Think for a minute, the piece of earth that you think you own, is not actually yours. It is the home of Maṅgala. You have captured his home, how would he feel? He would be agitated, and angry, and frustrated. That’s why Maṅgala is always angry. He is probably feeling: God knows from where these humans have come, destroying trees, polluting water, polluting air, and this is his home. See how he will react. It is natural. You would have reacted like that. He has only one motto, as soon as possible, he just want to kill as many as possible and oust them from Earth. The one who is stopping him, is Guru. That’s why it is said in the Mahānārāyaṇa Upaniṣad, it is only Bṛhaspati and Bṛhaspati alone, who can stop Yama at all times. Nobody else has that power. That’s why Śiva gave him the name “Jīva”. He glues Ātman and Body together through the power of his Ākāśa tattva. By the power of Ākāśa tattva, Ātman and Body stays glued together. It is very tough to break this bond. If Ākāśa tattva is very very strong, the native cannot die. So, always, when someone’s health is very bad and there is danger of sudden death, please strengthen Jupiter. What is the most powerful Bīja to strengthen Jupiter? Jūṃ, it comes from Jīva. The Bīja for Sadāśiva, is Haum. Hauṃ Jūṃ Saḥ. That is why the Mṛtyuñjaya mantra, is the mantra for that Bṛhaspati. The one who attained that, received that from Śiva, was Śukra. That is a different story. But it is basically the Ākāśa tattva of Jupiter. The Ākāśa tattva is in that Mṛtyuñjaya mantra. So, we are now clear about Jupiter and Mars and Yama. Dikpāla Devatā is Yama. Ya means Vāyu, Mā means “me, myself”. So, if we chant “Om yam yam yam sah bhur bhuvah Svah tatsavitur etc Gāyatrī mantra”, then Yama will become benefic towards us and will save us from sudden death. So, we are looking three things in Kālacakra

- Graha (Graha-dig)
- Devatā
- Kāla (Graha-vāsa)
South-West = Now we have come to the direction of Rākṣasa, devatā is Rākṣasa. The meaning of the word Rākṣasa (demon) comes from Rakṣā (to protect). The one who terrifies you so much, that you ask God for protection, is called Rākṣasa. Rāvaṇa was Rākṣasa. The lord of this direction is Rāhu. Rāhu is very powerful in this direction. We see terrifying acts through this direction, like, spying, cheating, killing, to give agony to someone. It’s all checked through this direction. This all evil karma, only one Graha can save us from all this, if he resides in that direction. That Graha is Budha. Budha can save us from all these. Why? What is Budha? Budha is the learning process, when a small kid sees candles he runs towards touching the candle, the candle burns the finger of the kid. This is the first learning of the kid about candle and fire. the child after that doesn’t touch fire again. So, Budha is helping the child learn and thus protecting the child. Similarly, Budha saves us from the evil things caused by Rāhu. Likewise, everyone should learn and save themselves from evil effects of Rāhu. Tattva in South-West direction, is Pṛthvī tattva. Budha has power over Pṛthvī tattva, and saves us from Rāhu.
West = this is direction of Varuṇa. This is about paap karma. The weapon of Varuṇa, is Pāśa. Pāśa is a rope that is used to tie. If you don’t wear Neck Tie, you are not worshipping Varuṇa. If you wear Pāśa, Varuṇa is happy. That’s why people of western countries like to wear Tie very much. It is considered fashion to wear Pāśa and walk around. The lord of that direction is Śani. He makes you from a piece of Mud. You are a Ātman. Then he makes you in physical body, and through his Pāśa (tying knot of evil karma), and he makes you a puppet, enslaved to your evil karma. The question is Control, and Varuṇa is completely controlling in nature. How much control and how much freedom. The control and freedom, are two very concepts when it comes to this direction, western direction of saturn. That’s why Saturn is the Kāraka of Slavery. Saturn is also the Kāraka of Democracy. See both things, are signified by Saturn. Because you realize the value of freedom only after being enslaved. All these things come in Western direction. How to escape this Pāśa of Varuṇa? That’s why you need yoga. And the Graha for that is Śukra. Graha-vāsa is Śukra. Śukra has that power that he can save us from the Pāśa of Saturn and Varuṇa, and free us. Śukra has the power to free us from all kinds of Bandhana or slavery. (jail, hospital, and such things where you are stuck in a place, or trapped in a place, are called Bandhana). What is Pāśa? And How can you be free from Pāśa? Suppose a kid wants chocolate, you give him so much chocolate, that he becomes aversive to chocolate. Then the Pāśa of chocolate on that kid is finished. You see, when a young boy goes to college, all the girls look beautiful in his eyes. After marriage, it deteriorates a bit. After few more years that boy becomes totally free from that desire. It means, you got free after consuming that in great amount. This is the principle of Śukra. Śukra says, that the way to be free from Pāśa, is to consume that thing so much, that you get totally free from that. This is principle followed in Āśram of Osho. This is the way to free from Śani and Varuṇa.
Student: but it weakens Sūrya.
Guruji: who weakens what, we will discuss that once we finish this chakra. There are two spokes of axle, there should be balance in the axle. We will come to this after we finish chakra. Now, come to North-West.
North-West = this is the direction of Moon. We talked about longevity here, this is the direction of Vāyu deva. Vāyu gives us physical strength, keeps us free from diseases, and gives longevity. If someone is very sick, and you can’t find a good doctor who can treat that, then, you should worship Vāyu Deva. You should worship the offspring of Vāyu Deva, I.e., Hanumān, and Bhīma. You body will become very strong after worshipping them. Divya! Are you understanding? Who will you worship? Hanumān? Very good. By worshipping Hanumān, your body will become very strong, and you get complete protection. You get Soma-rasa from this direction. That is Amṛta. The daily repair and rejuvenation happens from this dig. This happens constantly, like we breathe, in every breathe, you are eating Prāṇa, and finish paap. This happens constantly. This is what keeps you alive. That’s why longevity comes. And see, Mṛtyu and Longevity are in two different directions. Even a healthy man can die suddenly. How do you translate these words, shall we call this direction: health? Vitality. So, North-West is for Vitality. Strength and Vitality. The Graha in this dig, I.e., the Kāla-Graha, is Śani. Age: age increases and this vitality decreases. Health, vitality, a simple word for it, is “Life Force”. It is the Life Force within you.
Student: can we call this Ojas?
Guruji: No. Ojas is Candra+Śukra. This is life force, and is different concept from Mṛtyu.
North = most important direction for human beings. You know a bullock cart? Likewise, a devatā named a Kubera, he binds humans like bollocks in bullock-cart, and sit’s in that vehicle made up of humans. That’s why Kubera is called Manuṣya Vāhana (Vāhana means vehicle). Manuṣya is his vehicle. Can you imagine? Human beings are his Vāhana. Even thinking about that shivers you. For him, you are just like, dog, cat and other animals. This is dig of Kubera. Dig-Graha is Budha. Budha is Kāraka of 10th house. That’s why 10th house, is seen for wealth. Budha is seen for wealth. If Budha is badly placed from Ārūḍha, then the person doesn’t go towards wealth. If Budha is nicely placed from Ārūḍha, then he cared about his wealth and finance. He is a strong vehicle of Kubera. He will not become Vivekānanda. Vivekānanda is Mercury in 6th from Ārūḍha Lagna. Kubera must be trying to trap him, and he was cutting the trap. He was trying to find a job. When does the person tries for a job, it is when you are desperately asking Kubera to make you his Vāhana “Oh Kubera, please please please put the lasso on me”. You know! You are putting your neck out like that and asking Kubera to put his rope around your neck. That rope is called lasso, like those bull riders throw on the bull to trap the bull, Kubera does exactly the same thing with you. And you are asking him to do that. You are that bull who is running around in that pen, and Kubera is that cowboy who is trying to put that lasso on you. As soon the lasso thrown b Kubera falls around your neck, you are cheering up and saying “I got a job, I got a job”, and you become so happy. Look at the mind, the mind is playing games. This is where Vivekananda, was lucky. Kubera tried and tried and tried, but could not put the lasso around Vivekānanda’s neck. Who saved you from Kubera? Candra, Manas (Sanskrit), Mother. Mother does not want you to become the slave of Kubera. This is the truth that Mom doesn’t want their kid to work like slaves. Mom wants you to eat, sit, play, and be happy. “Be happy my baby, be happy”. Mom only wants good things for the child. See the peculiarity, only the Moon has the power to take you out of the trap of the lasso of Kubera. What does this actually means? mental satisfaction. There is no limit to the amount of wealth that you want. If you get 1 million dollars today, will you sit and be content? No. You will then want 10 million dollars, then 100 million and so on. So, the Rishis are saying that there is no limit to this desire for wealth. The kāla for this can only be the mind (Manas). Only your mind can stop this, nothing else can stop this. That’s why it is very important to check the sambandha or the relationship between Budha and Candra. It is very important. If Budha and Candra are sitting in opposite rāśi to each other, I.e., mutually 7th from each other, then that person will be constantly about his occupation or career. He will feel like, “why am I doing all this? I don’t want to do all this”. This is the reason. People talk about Moon-Mercury as a bad combo, giving tensions etc., why does it do so? In Kāla Cakra, if the two Graha of a single direction, sit in opposite rāśi to each other, then it creates inherent problem as they oppose each other, and give tensions and frustrations in life. If they are together, they will still give stress and tensions. It is best when these two Graha are in 5th and 9th to each other, not in kendras. When these Graha sit’s in mutual kendras, they form a different kind of yoga, we will talk about that yoga. We will go into he differences between Kendra, trikonaa, and Duḥsthāna. So, Next, one Graha is remaining. Let’s finish this.
North-East = Dikpāla Deva is Īśāna, and the mantra is Om Namaḥ Śivāya. When you chant this mantra, Rāhu runs away from there for some time. Namaḥ Śivāya is 5 syllable and will have a different effect. Om Namaḥ Śivāya is 6 syllable mantra and it is the Īśāna mantra. Understand the difference between Pañcākṣarī and Īśāna mantra. Pañcākṣarī is: Namaḥ Śivāya. Om is added to this for the direction of Bṛhaspati, the North-East direction of Īśāna Śiva. Namaḥ Śivāya is fine for all the directions. But Om Namaḥ Śivāya is for the North-East directiona the Īśāna-Koṇa. So you start the Om Namaḥ Śivāya and go into the Īśāna-koṇa. Rāhu will be standing in the way. Rāhu thinks: “if everybody comes into Īśāna-Koṇa, mukti is certain for them, what will I do then? I will be jobless”. So, He becomes the King of Bādhaka. And the time when Rāhu and the Bādhaka attacks you, it is very bad for the spiritual direction.
In everyday, this Kālacakra takes a full revolution. And then in night, it takes another complete revolution. The lord of the Vāra, (that day), Vāra means Agni energy, so, what are we studying in the Kālacakra? We are studying the flow of Energy in our system. We are basically talking of all the resources, “men, material, money”. All resources, when we put them together, are called energy. This energy runs through Kālacakra.
On Ravivāra (Sunday) we start from Sūrya, then go on: Ravi-Maṅgala-Guru and so on. Now you will tell me three things: what is the Graha, kāla and devatā from 6:00 to 7:30 in morning of Ravivāra.
Indra is the devatā.
Student: and Sūrya
Guruji: Indra is the Devatā, Sūrya is the Graha and Kāla. Very good, we need these three things. Okay, madam, you tell me the three things for 7:30 to 9:00. Now we will go to next from Sūrya
Student: Mars
Guruji: We will go to Maṅgala, focus on Kālacakra. Who is the Graha of this dig?
Student: Śukra
Guruji: Śukra is the Graha of that dig. Devatā is Agni. Kāla is that of Maṅgala. Then come to next 1.5 hours, it comes to South direction. Can you see how are we going from East to South-East to south.. And like this we are going to complete the circle. Next is South. Next time slot is 9:00 to 10:30. Who will come in 9 to 10:30?
Student: (inaudible)
Guruji: No, No, No. Please draw the Kāla Cakra, then it will become easy for you. Dakshina dig in Maṅgala, First. First thing is Graha, dig is of Maṅgala Graha. Graha-dig is the first and foremost thing you study. Then study the devatā. The devatā for south direction is Yama. Kāla or the Graha-vāsa is by Bṛhaspati. Okay? Am I Clear? Tell me the next Kāla. Where have we reached? We have done 6 to 7:30; 7:30 to 9; 9:00 to 10:30. Next is 10:30 to 12pm. First tell me the direction
Student: South-West.
Guruji: after that?
Student: Rāhu.
Guruji: Dig-bala is of Rāhu.
Student: Graha-dig is of Rāhu and Graha-vāsa is of Budha.
Guruji: Graha-dig is of Rāhu. Graha-vāsa is of Budha. And who is the devatā?
Student: Rākṣasa
Guruji: Dikpāla is Rākṣasa, and Graha-vāsa is of Budha, I.e., Kāla is of Budha. Next, after that?
Guruji: 12 to 1:30?
Students: dig is of Śani, and vāsa is of Śukra. (Dig-bala is of Śani, and Graha-vāsa is that of Śukra.
Guruji: Madam, you are forgetting the devatā of this dig. It’s Varuṇa Devatā. I am teaching you this, because I wish that your buddhi things in this manner. Keep these three things in mind. First, dig means direction, and the devatā which will help me in that direction, and what is the Graha that will stop me. So, three things are important:
- The work which I am going to do
- The Devatā who will help me.
- The Graha that will stop that work.
If you master these three things, then you will definitely win. Am I clear? Move to next.. 1:30 to 3:00.
Student: North-West.
Guruji: North-West, that’s right.
Student: Candra
Guruji: Candra is dig-Graha, and the devatā is Vāyu, Śani is the Kāla-Graha (Graha-vāsa). Let’s move to north direction to earn some money.
Student: Budha is dig, Devatā is Kubera, and the Kāla-Graha is Moon.
Guruji: Budha is the Graha-dig, devatā is Kubera, Candra is the Graha-vāsa. Now, move to next:
Student: North-East.,
Guruji: North-East.
Student: Guru is the Graha-dig, Īśāna is the devatā, and Rāhu is the Kāla-Graha (Graha-vāsa)
Guruji: Yes, Bṛhaspati has the Graha-dig, Devatā is Īśāna, and Rāhu is Kāla-Graha. Okay, we are clear on this now. Now, we are going to use this on Muhūrta and how we can better our life by using this knowledge and make our life successful. If you want to start some work at any time, if we keep the Graha-kāla in mind, then we can succeed. Or, if you want to meet me to ask me some questions, “never phone me in Rāhu kāla”. If you do it in Rāhu kāla, that work won’t succeed. Reason is simple, if you want to talk to me, then it is the direction of Bṛhaspati, If it is the Graha-dig of Guru, then Rāhu won’t support but it will oppose the Graha-dig, because it the -Kāla-Graha of North-East direction. So, you should avoid the Rāhu-kāla in the work relating to Graha-dig of Bṛhaspati.
Suppose there is an assassin, who wants to murder somebody, and if that assassin starts the work in Guru-kālam, then he will not succeed, because Guru will oppose Maṅgala (South direction, Yama is the dig-Devatā). Am I being understood? See, when I am talking about Kāla, I am being negative, like, “something that will fail to happen, some work that won’t succeed”. It’s a negation of a possibility of something happening. For example: In Rāhu-kāla, you should not do something that is related to Guru’s dig (direction), I.e., North-East direction. Likewise, if you are going to start some work related to Maṅgala’s dig (direction), (Yama dig-devatā), don’t do that in Bṛhaspati-kāla. Likewise, if you are about to start or do something that is related to the Śani, then you should not do that in Śukra-kāla. (this is about west direction). In Śani’s kālam, you should not do something related to Candra’s dig (North-West, Vāyu dig-devatā). And in Candra’s kāla, you should not go in Budha’s dig (because in North dig, Candra is the Kāla-Graha and the Graha-dig is of Budha. And like this, you can clearly decide, In Pañcāṅga, only the Rāhu-kāla is given, which is wrong, Actually, every kāla is important.
Student: so, the first Kāla is of the Graha which is the lord of that Day.
Guruji: Yes, the first kāla is of the Graha which is the lord of that day. Like in Budhavāra, 6 to 7:30 is of Budha. It is in chakra order. After Budha, in Kāla Cakra, it is Śukra, then Śani, Candra, then Rāhu, then Sūrya, like this… After finishing one round, and in night, it will start from the Graha which is in exact opposite direction that the lord of the day. On Wednesday, 6 to 7:30pm is of Rāhu because Budha is the Kāla-Graha of South-West direction and in the North-East direction, Kāla-Graha is Rāhu. You should draw the chakra, and put the Grahas, put the Kāla, and the devatās.
Okay, draw a circle. Cut the circle with a plus sign, then cut it again with a cross. Now you have eight spokes of this Chakra. In the top, write “East”, in the bottom, write “West”, write “south”on the right hand side. Write “north”on the left hand side. Outside the chakra, write kāla. And write “kāla outside – chakra inside”. So that you remember, that the Kāla-Graha are on the outside, and the chakra is on the inside.
On the outside of circle, write Sūrya on the east. Write Mars in South-East, Jupiter in South, Mercury on South-West, Śukra in west, Śani in North-West, Candra in North, and Rāhu in North-East. These are eight Kāla-Grahas. Write them outside the circle.
Now come on the inside of the circle. On the inside, we write the Graha that rule these directions. Sūrya is in East, Śukra is in South-East, Maṅgala is in South, Rāhu is in South-West, Śani is in West, Candra in North-West, Budha in North, and Guru is in North-East. And write, Kāla is in outside of circle, and dig-Graha is in inside of circle.
These directions are called Graha-dig or karma-dig. Am I clear? Graha-dig or karma-dig? This Chakra is very important, and while we apply this on horoscopes, you will understand it’s importance.
Now write Devatā on the inside of circle, Indra for Sūrya in the East, Agni for Śukra in the South-East, Yama for Maṅgala in the south, Rākṣasa for Rāhu in the South-West, Varuṇa for Śani in the west, Vāyu is for Candra in the North-West, Kubera for Budha in the north, and Īśāna-Śiva is for Bṛhaspati in the North-East.
Now write, that the first slot of the day is ruled by the lord of the day. On Sunday, it starts from Sun. On Saturday, it starts from Śani. On Wednesday, it starts from Mercury. It’s for the day. There are eight kāla in the day, and there are eight kāla in the night. And, in night, it starts from the Graha in the opposite 180deg. This chakra is very important, there are a lot of tithi, Nakṣatra, and devatā from this chakra. This Chakra should be fixed in your brain. You must be totally aware of this chakra.
All the daśās like yogini Daśā and Kālacakra Daśā, are from this chakra only. You cannot do Kālacakra Daśā if you don’t understand this chakra. This is crucial. Kāla Cakra Daśā is derived from this. This is the Kālacakra used in deriving the Kālacakra Daśā. The word “Kālacakra Daśā”are derived from the name of this chakra known as the Kālacakra. Yogini work according to this chakra. So we are very clear now on the direction of life. Now we will apply this on a few charts. First of these charts is the chart of my dear friend, the ex-prime minister of our country, P. V. Narasimha Rao. And see, favorite student is also from that name, P. V. R. Narasimha Rao. And interestingly, both are Kanyā Lagna person. So, make Kanyā Lagna for P. V. Narasimha Rao (ex prime minister).
Guruji: Kanyā is Lagna, Jupiter in 12th house in Siṃha Rāśi. 8th house has Venus. And my student P. V. R. Narasimha Rao also has Venus in 8th. Candra is in 7th house in Mīna Rāśi. 10th house, Mithuna, has Maṅgala, Sūrya and Budha.
Student: what about Rāhu and Ketu in his chart?
Guruji: I can’t remember. We are interested in these planets in the 10th house. Okay, now focus on 10th house. When you learned Jyotiṣa, you must have heard about “Dig-bala”.
Student: Ketu is in 8th house and Rāhu is in 2nd house.
Guruji: Yes, Ketu is in 8th house with Śukra, and Saturn is in 12th house with Jupiter. They are forming a Pāpa-kartarī on the Lagna, that’s why I was not telling it to you. Okay, which Graha is having Dig-bala?
Student: Maṅgala is having Dig-bala
Guruji: Correct. You are telling me that Maṅgala is having Dig-bala. That is correct. Sūrya is also having Dig-bala. Always remember one thing, Grahas get Dig-bala, only in Kendra. Only and only kendras give Dig-bala. This is not about a direction on earth, this is related to karmas, and relates to that only. Jupiter is having Dig-bala in my chart in Lagna. And the Dig-bala of Jupiter is related to North-Eastern direction. But I have never gone to China. So, the Dig-bala is not about a direction on land, it is about some karma related concept. And, all Grahas get Dig-bala in Kendra.
Lagna :Budha and Guru get Dig-bala in Lagna.
4th house : Candra and Śukra get Dig-bala in 4th house.
7th house : Śani get Dig-bala in 7th house.
10th house : Sūrya and Maṅgala get Dig-bala in 10th house.
Where does Rāhu get Dig-bala? Because we have eight Graha in Kāla Cakra, and eight dig. Ketu goes in vertically upward direction and is different from all other Grahas. Remember, every Kendra gives Dig-bala to two Graha each. Lagna gives Dig-bala to Budha and Guru. 4th house gives Dig-bala to Candra and Śukra. Śani and Rāhu get Dig-bala in 7th house. Sūrya and Maṅgala get Dig-bala in 10th house. Please note it down. See I caught you. You know why you don’t know? Because you have never thought of Dig-bala like this. You just have a rote learning about Dig-bala that this Graha would get Dig-bala in that house. That is not how you study Dig-bala. Now I will teach you something more about Dig-bala. These Graha get Dig-bala in these Kendra because they give them strength from tattva. Graha do not themselves get Dig-bala on their own, their tattvas get Dig-bala in these Kendra. Such as following:
Lagna : Pṛthvī and Ākāśa tattvas get Dig-bala in Lagna. Lagna means the person. Two things should be powerful in the person. His body from Pṛthvī tattva, Ākāśa tattva gives buddhi.
Jala tattvas gets Dig-bala in 4th house.
7th house : Vāyu tattvas gets Dig-bala in 7th house.
10th house : Agni tattvas gets Dig-bala in 10th house.
Four tattvas get Dig-bala like this. If Agni tattva Graha sit in the 10th house, they are considered to be very well placed because 10th house is the Kendra of Agni tattva. When one Graha gets Dig-bala, then that Graha will pull the native in that direction of karma. That Graha’s job is to pull the native in that direction of work, to do some special work. Why did P. V. Narasimha Rao became a politician and did not become an artist or a painter? He wanted to become a clerk in government job, but instead, he became a prime minister. See the strength of that Sūrya and Maṅgala. Do you agree with this? So, Dig-bala are very important.
Okay, now tell me this. One dig is of Sūrya and another dig is of Maṅgala. In these directions, which Graha are the kāla-Graha of that dig respectively?
Student: Śukra blocks the dig of Maṅgala?
Guruji: Are you sure?
Student: Guru blocks in south direction
Guruji: Yes, I wanted to hear this. Why did you say Śukra? Please don’t make such mistakes. Dig of Maṅgala is south and devatā is Yama. Sūrya’s dig is east, and the devatā is Indra. So, it signifies kings. In both of these, Sūrya himself blocks the east direction. And in south, Guru is the kāla-Graha and blocks the south-dig. See where Guru is placed in his kuṇḍalī? Guru is in 12th house. When Maṅgala gets Dig-bala, and Guru is the badhakesh in 12th house; that means that there is no blockage in the Yama’s direction. Nobody can stop him. If this person goes in Maṅgala’s direction, nobody can stop him. If he starts beating his enemies, enemies will cry but nobody can save them. Can you see? If Maṅgala is in 10th house and Guru goes to Duḥsthāna (6th, 8th or 12th house), there is nobody to stop Maṅgala as far as Maṅgala’s direction is concerned. And, he has got two directions, one is Sūrya and another is Maṅgala. Sūrya is the political direction, and another is Maṅgala, the warrior direction. One is political direction, the Graha himself is the kāla-Graha. When you become the King, only you can stop yourself, who else can stop you? Prime Minister does whatever he/she wants to do. If he decides to increase the reservation quota, can you stop him? As far as practical world is concerned, a king will do whatever he wants to do, and he is the only one who can stop himself. But as far as Maṅgala’s dig is concerned, Guru can block, but Guru has gone to the 12th house, so, Maṅgala is complete Rājayoga. During Maṅgala Daśā, he was prime minister of India. When one Graha is having Dig-bala, the kāla-Graha should not be powerful. When the kāla-Graha gets powerful, then he is able to stop the Dig-bala-Graha, and he will keep blocking, and will try his hardest to block. Am I being understood? So, if someone has Guru in Dig-bala, who is the Graha that will block this Dig-bala? Rāhu is the one who will stop Dig-bala of Guru.
Student: (inaudible)
Guruji: Mars and Sun. Basically Mars. He was the right hand person of the prime minister of India. Who is Maṅgala? Maṅgala is the Right hand of the King. P. V. Narasimha Rao had been the right-hand of Indira Gandhi for so many years. And, in the last, he became the prime minister himself. There is viparīta Rāja-yoga, so, he became prime minister from viparīta Rāja-yoga. If you study the viparīta rāja-yoga, it has worked beautifully. This person should not do any important work in the Kāla of Guru. He should not make political decisions in Guru-kāla. It not Daśā, I am talking about Guru-kāla. Every day has different different Kāla. He should not do any important political work or decision in Guru-kāla. In Guru-kāla such a person should sit peacefully and do nothing, and when Guru-kāla crosses, start working again.
That is Maṅgala, and that is war. Suppose a war is going to start, and start the battle in Guru-kāla, then the peace talks would start before even starting the war, and you then have to give up the idea of War. Am I being understood? Kāla is very important. Okay? So, you all to decide from your respective horoscopes, which Kāla are good for you and which kāla are not good for you. Who is the person who can learn good Jyotiṣa? A person having a strong Guru, can learn good quality Jyotiṣa. Because it is the Vidya of Guru. That’s why Praśna Mārga tells that Muhūrta should be taken keeping Guru in Lagna. The starting Muhūrta for learning Jyotiṣa, is always having Guru in Lagna. Why? Guru will have Dig-bala. At least you learned some basics of Kāla Cakra. One more important concept in Kāla Cakra, is Viparīta Kāla. One Kāla is rising, another Kāla is falling or diminishing. This should also be seen. When Sūrya-kāla is rising, Śukra-kāla is diminishing. When Maṅgala-kāla is rising, then, Śani-kāla is diminishing. When Guru-kāla is rising, Candra-kāla is diminishing. Both cannot rise at the same time. One will rise, and the opposite will fall. So, we should also look the Graha-kāla or the Graha signifying the kāla opposite to the Graha-kāla in question. Now apply this to your daily life. Don’t do two things simultaneously, if they are signified by the Graha-kāla which are opposite to each other. (Sūrya-Śukra, Maṅgala-Śani, Guru-Candra, Budha-Rāhu). Don’t take the simultaneous responsibilities of two things/work which are signified by the opposite kāla-Grahas. For example, which are the things for which Śukra-kāla is good?
Student: entertainment and all that
Guruji: That is the dig of Śukra. Tell me about kāla. For example, if you walk in Śani-dig (west, devatā = Varuṇa), then that work will not succeed. So, Śukra-kāla will not favor the Śani related activities. Entertainment, Dancing etc., Śukra will support his own activities. What else will Śukra not favor? Śukra will not Sūrya related things. Politics, Governance etc are Sūrya related things and while doing these things you should not do Śukra related activities like entertainment etc. It is about opposites on the Kāla Cakra. You want to watch a movie, then take a pause on your work. Don’t discuss politics with your spouse.
By the way, we calculated Caturdaśī as death-tithi for Pramod Mahajan, and he passed away on Ṣaṣṭhī tithi. Ṣaṣṭhī is also Śukra tithi. I have to fine tune my research. And second is, I cannot catch/predict the pakṣa, and I also cannot predict which of two tithi can it be, like shashthi or Caturdaśī.
Okay let’s get back to Kāla. Tell me something about Guru-kāla and Budha-kāla. You cannot do it. Okay, think about whatever I have taught you now about the opposites of Kāla Cakra. And you also have to do some work on the relationship between Kāla-Graha and dig-Graha. Kāla-Graha likes dig-Graha. Dig-Graha hates the Kāla-Graha. There is a difference between liking and being friend. This is love and hate relationship. Moon loves Mercury because Moon is the Kāla-Graha and Mercury is the dig-Graha of north direction. Rāhu loves Jupiter and Jupiter hates Rāhu. This is very deep. Venus loves Saturn, while Saturn hates Venus. When Venus loves saturn, then Venus is a fantastic yogakāraka for saturn. Guru Antardaśā in Rāhu Mahādaśā, is good. Rāhu Antardaśā in Guru Mahādaśā, is horrible. Likewise: Śani Antardaśā in Śukra Mahādaśā, is good. Śukra Antardaśā in Śani Mahādaśā, is very bad. Rāhu loves Jupiter.
Student: Maṅgala loves Śukra but Śukra hates Maṅgala.
Guruji: Yes. Ask any bachelor boy about a girl, they will find all girls beautiful. The real form Maṅgala is in Engineering College Students. Maṅgala is engineer, and bachelor also. So, Bachelors in Engineering colleges, or the new army recruits, they are signified by Maṅgala. Like, they find girls beautiful because Maṅgala loves Śukra but Śukra hates Maṅgala. Engineering students are bubbling with energy, they break things in the lab and furnaces etc., That’s why Śukra Antardaśā in Maṅgala Mahādaśā, is very good. But, Maṅgala Antardaśā in Maṅgala Mahādaśā, is very bad. This is how you do it’s application in Daśā. What about Rāhu-Guru?
Student: Jupiter Antardaśā in Rāhu Mahādaśā is good.
Guruji: So, Jupiter Antardaśā in Rāhu Mahādaśā, is good. And Rāhu Antardaśā in Guru Mahādaśā is bad. What about Rāhu-Mercury? Rāhu Antardaśā in Budha Mahādaśā, is very good. Whereas, Budha antardaśā in Rāhu Mahādaśā, is extremely bad, worst black magic is done in this.
Student: I am running Śani Mahādaśā and Śukra Antardaśā.
Guruji: Ohh… How is it going?
Student: problems come but I can handle them
Guruji: It means Varuṇa devatā is helping you
Another Student: I am running Jupiter Mahādaśā and Rāhu Antardaśā.
Guruji: According to me, you are not running that. In your case, Utpanna Viṃśottarī Daśā is applicable. If Moon is in 3rd house, take Viṃśottarī from pañcama Nakṣatra. Otherwise, do not even talk to me about it, I am not interested. You have just got gift of gold and diamonds, and you are saying you are running that Daśā. This is not Jyotiṣa. Our own Jyotiṣa is shaking because of this rubbish. If you have to use Daśā, use it properly. If Moon is in third house, use Utpanna Viṃśottarī. Normal Viṃśottarī will not work. If Moon is in 3rd house or the 11th house, you will use Utpanna Daśā. Count 5th Nakṣatra from janma Nakṣatra, if Aśvinī is the janma Nakṣatra, then it’s Mṛgaśīrṣa Nakṣatra. And take Daśā balance in same ratio, Maṅgala’s Mahādaśā will be first Daśā. If Mahādaśā according to janma Nakṣatra, was of 2 years remaining. And Ketu’s Daśā is of 7 years, then the ratio will be 2/7. So, take 2/7 of Maṅgala’s Mahādaśā. If someone has Moon in Bharanī Nakṣatra in 3rd house. Then you will take 5th Nakṣatra from bharaniu, and that is Ārdrā Nakṣatra. Now, if the remaining Mahādaśā of Śukra was of 2 years, then you should take 2/20 of Rāhu Mahādaśā I.e. 2/20 multiplied by 18. It means that we are taking same degrees of Moon but in another Nakṣatra. That is called Utpanna, and I have described this in my Uḍu Daśā book with example. I want you to study these combinations of planets of Kāla Cakra, very carefully in horoscopes. For example, Moon-Budha combination and how they form Śāradā yoga. I want you to study Guru-Rāhu combination and the formation of Guru-Cāṇḍāla yoga. I want you to study Śukra-Śani combination. I want you to study Maṅgala-Śukra relationship very carefully. Why Maṅgala-Śukra relationship can cause extremes in bachelor or relationships. If Maṅgala and Śukra are sitting together in somebody’s horoscope, it doesn’t mean that the person will have many relationships, you cannot say that. In some cases the person will have many relationships, and in other cases, there will be zero such things, and such a person won’t have any interest in relationships and such things. Same Maṅgala-Śukra yoga can cause extremes.
Then I want you to carefully study Śani-Candra yoga and how they contribute in longevity, in longevity calculations, there are three methods of calculation.
- Lagna Lord and 8th lord
- Lagna and Hora Lagna
- Saturn and Moon
Saturn and Moon combination can tell us about longevity, there are three lines in forehead of Śiva. These are the three lines, and one among them is Śani-Candra line. The direction of Śani-Candra combination is North-Western dig, and that direction gives us longevity, and it’s the direction of Vāyu Deva-prāṇa, Prāṇāyāma are all related to this dig. When you leave the home, prāṇa should be balanced, and it is said that, if you see anything bad, or a bad nimitta, do Prāṇāyāma. And then leave the house.
I want you to very carefully study the Mercury-Rāhu relationships and shocks and suffering in life. Study this very carefully. Amāvasyā and Aṣṭamī are related to Rāhu. For example, if Wednesday happens on an Amāvasyā, that the best day to do Māraṇa Tantra on somebody. So, study this Budha and Rāhu yoga. Why is it so terrible, please study it. Rāhu gets exalted in Mercury’s home. But Mercury alone has the power to cleanse Rāhu or Block Rāhu. It means that Viṣṇu Bhagavān has that power that he can totally block and still Rāhu. That’s why we worship Viṣṇu and his 10 incarnations (Avatar) so that Rākṣasa are totally blocked. So, Rakṣā (to protect) is signified by Budha and we worship Lord Viṣṇu for protection.
I will now quickly finish with some small small case studies. Okay tell me, how will you decide what should be done in which kāla, etc., etc.. In Saptarṣi Nāḍī, Maharṣi Atri teaches that, in one horoscopes, Rāhu is in 4th house, and Rāhu is in Mercury’s home, this can be dangerous. So, Maharṣi Atri says: On Budhavāra (vaara of Budha because Rāhu is in Rāśi of Budha), in Rāhu-kāla, go to Durgā Temple and light a lamp; then Durgā Mā will finish the troubles created by Rāhu. He has given the Upāya on the basis of the lord of the sign where Rāhu is placed. The Kāla that is to be used is for the Graha. The devatā who has to be propitiated, is the devatā of the Graha who is causing the sorrow. The same system can be applied now for all the Grahas who are causing problems vis-a-vis kāla; means that because of kāla-dig relationship that Graha has created troubles for you in that dig.
Let’s take a business chart. (taking a student’s horoscope)
Kanyā is the Lagna. Mercury is in 7th house with Sūrya. Retrograde Jupiter is in second house, Moon is in 4th house, Rāhu is in 6th house, Saturn, Mars and Venus are in the 8th house. Ketu is in 12th house. Okay. Ketu in 12th house is defunct, because he is having three planets in the 8th house. Ketu in 12th house is very bad for marriage, unless there are larger number of planets in the 8th house. It applies to all horoscopes, Ketu in 12th house destroys marriage. Only in one condition, it can be saved, provided there are more than 2 planets in Randhra Bhāva (8th house). Jaimini has taught this, when you study Argalā, you will study this. So, he has no problem in marriage because more than two Graha are in 8th house. Now come to business. Can you see the Śani-Śukra yoga? Please explain it’s effect on the person. And Maṅgala-Śukra yoga means that he will have many girlfriends, or not?
Student: No, I don’t think about that
Guruji: Why is it so? Okay. Tell me what problems that he has in his business?
Student: I am running Maṅgala Mahādaśā, Śukra Antardaśā.
Guruji: Then it must be good. Wife must be very happy with you. You are spending all the time with her. South-East is shining. As far as wife is concerned, relationship is concerned, fantastic. That is not the problem. Problem is of Budha. Budha is totally debilitated, and Dig-bala is zero, from Lagna.
Student: Pāpakartarī
Guruji: This is what I wanted to hear. There is a heavy Pāpakartarī on Budha. Deadly Pāpakartarī coming from Rāhu, Maṅgala and Śani. Rāhu is aspecting it also. This is Bādhaka sthāna, A nīca Graha becoming the Ātmakāraka, is sitting in Bādhaka sthāna, and receiving aspect from Rāhu, as well as a pāpakartarī yoga. What was our condition? When Bādhaka is under such bad conditions, Rāhu’s Gocara on Lagneśa, Bādhaka will fructify. Rāhu’s Gocara will definitely cause Bādhā. He is trying so hard, but, ultimately Rāhu has destroyed his business. You see, Rāhu has not hit him in his health, but, has destroyed his business. Budha is Lagna lord, and 10th lord.
Student: why has it hit only the 10th house?
Guruji: It has hit Lagna also. His life has become directionless. Whereas in her case, it is Lagneśa and the 4th lord. Lagna is alright because her life direction is alright. But her 4th is hit, because 4th house is the cure for diseases, and her 4th house is hit. (some other student having Mithuna Lagna, in contrast the case in discussion is having Kanyā Lagna, both are having Mercury as Lagneśa). When Rāhu does Gocara over the Lagneśa, he imbalances the whole life of the person. Fundamentally, it has hit him very badly. Now what is the degree of Mercury.;
Student: 23 degrees
Guruji: It means it has been going on for some time. Our rule was, “the Drekkāṇa in which Lagneśa is placed, when Rāhu enters that Drekkāṇa, then it will start”. So, when Rāhu had just entered Mīna, this would have started. When did Rāhu entered Mīna?
Student: 26 march last year
Guruji: How is it going since then?
Student: I wore Gomedha at that time.
Guruji: So, you wore Gomedha when Rāhu transit started. How funny. He was about to close his business, but the partner said, “No, no, don’t close the business, I will give money”. So, can you think now about the relation between Rāhu and Budha? That’s why Budha’s gemstone emerald is considered ati-śubha (too auspicious). Emerald is considered to be one of the finest gemstones. Because it gives you Kubera’s direction (north dig). It gives you Kubera’s dig and makes you very happy. That’s why Delhi’s Kings used to make their throne with lots of emerald. They used to sit on peacock-thrones. That’s why they have so much money. This comes from emerald. Budha gives you that dig. When you wear gemstone of some Graha, then, that Graha will starts giving it’s complete results. It cannot be selective. You are just increasing that Graha, he will do everything he wants to do.
It is not just to say that If K. N. Rao does Viṣṇu Sahasranāma, it will do good for him (K. N. Rao has Tula Lagna), and if I do it, It will increase Bādhaka for me (Guruji has Mīna Lagna so, Budha is badhakesh). Viṣṇu Sahasranāma is good for all. Puṣyarāga is good for all. It is only question to, if that gemstone is not in the direction of your life, don’t accept that gemstone. No gemstone is bad provided, you are doing it’s mantras properly. And, no gemstone is good if it is cracked, full of flaws, and you are not doing it’s mantras. Excepting of-course when you have these combinations, for example, Moon-Mercury. If somebody’s Lagneśa is Moon and he wears Mercury’s gemstone. If somebody’s Lagneśa is Mercury and he wears Rāhu’s gemstone. When you know for certain, that, you love Rāhu but Rāhu hates you. Look at the relationship between Mercury and Rāhu, Mercury loves Rāhu so much, but, Rāhu hates Mercury so much. That’s why Rāhu made such situation that Mercury is borne of somebody else’s seed rather than the husband of his mother. That’s why. Mercury likes Rāhu because Rāhu is full of entertainment. Kids love to be mischievous.
Student: I got Dīkṣā in Maṅgala Daśā, Śukra Antardaśā, Śani Pratyantar Daśā.
Guruji: So, You received Guru-dīkṣā in Maṅgala Mahādaśā, Śukra Antardaśā, Śani Pratyantar Daśā? That happened because of the 9th house. Thats good. But tell me about your business, what should you do so that Business is good.
Business, this word is peculiar, one person who is a religious preacher, he also uses the word business for what they do. But my point is, should I see that from Budha’s dig or from Guru’s dig? Which dig signifies this karma? Ultimately it jots down to karma. A person who is protecting the country, and he gets to know that Pakistan is making a terrible bomb, and he is told to secretly go to Pakistan and detonate that bomb. Which dig will you assign to that? Is it Maṅgala’s dig, or Sūrya’s dig or Rāhu’s dig? That is a Rāhu related work, and so, is a Rāhu-dig. So, ultimately it comes down to your exact karma while you are involved in that work. That person was a soldier but did Rāhu-work. Are we clear? We have to define what karma are you doing? If the person is a religious preacher, then the karma that he is doing is a Guru-dig. If one person is doing speculation in share market, that is Mercury related work, and is Budha-dig (north, Kubera), because he is playing with money. It’s trading, buying something with money, and then selling that. Depending what he is trading. But generally, trading is attached with Mercury. So, what is your business?
Student: garments
Guruji: So, his business was about garments. It is Śukra-dig, is it not Śukra related work? So, what is greatest obstacle in Śukra-dig, what is the Graha-kāla in Śukra-dig (South-East)?
Students: Maṅgala
Guruji: So, what is his Mahādaśā? Maṅgala-Mahādaśā and Śukra-Antardaśā, the business closed. What is it so? Antardaśā of Śukra in Mahādaśā of Maṅgala, is good for marriage and love. What is love? Śukra is coming towards you. The person doing business of garments, wants to give Śukra away from him (garments are signified by Śukra, and selling garments is Śukra-business). Can you see the difference? He is selling clothes, not buying them. Even if he is buying clothes, he is buying them in order to sell them at profit. Aim is to sell Śukra at profit. So, when we are selling something that is related to Graha-kāla and not Graha-dig, because we are talking about negative. So, It is not Maṅgala-Śukra, South-East. It is actually Śani-Śukra, WEST. Because when a person is doing some business, that person is selling the item or that item is going away from that person. And this is about Graha-kāla. There is only one Graha, that comes more when you give it away, and that is Sūrya signifying the spiritual knowledge. In everything else, you have to give something in order to have something. When you give Śukra, you will get Śani in return. When you give Guru away, you will get Maṅgala in return. It means, you let peace go away, then war will come to you. That is kāla. Look at Kāla Cakra, as if Graha-kāla is on the outside, and Graha-dig is on the inside. So, outside is the kāla-Graha, and that is what you are giving away and getting dig-Graha in return. So, garments business means Śukra (garments) are going away and the devatā of west is Varuṇa. So, if he ever wants to do garments business, he has to do Namaskāra to Varuṇa because his Śukra is already yuti with Śani, and also with Maṅgala, Śani is debilitated. Is Śani having nīcabhaṅga.
There are four ways to nīcabhaṅga.
An exalted planet sit’s with that nīcabhaṅga planet. It means that if I am weak, I should make friendship with a strong person. A beggar befriends a king.
Second way is: the lord of the exaltation sign should be in Kendra to Lagna or Kendra to chandr. Kendra-to Lagna means your own ability, and Kendra to chandr means someone from society will help.
Third way is: the lord of debilitation sign should be in Kendra to Lagna or Kendra to chandr. It means that the debilitation-lord is merciful to the debilitation planet.
Finally, the Graha that gets exalted in that Rāśi. If this planet is sitting in Kendra to Lagna or Kendra to chandr. Can it?
Student: Sūrya is in Kendra to Lagna.
Guruji: It means that Sūrya can execute the nīcabhaṅga. Sūrya can change the game, pull Śani out of debilitation. So, what should we do, Should we give mantra, or gemstone of Sūrya? He cannot do Indra mantra because we don’t want to send him in indra’s dig, but we want Sūrya support to do Nīca-bhaṅga of Śani. And if Śani-Nīca-bhaṅga does not happen, he won’t be ever able to do business. Maṅgala and Śani are sitting in eighth house, this kuṇḍalī cannot be a business-kuṇḍalī. He will be forced to do service. They are sitting in Randhra bhava and Śani in nīca and very weak, and will force him into doing a service. Varuṇa forces a person to do service, that is what I explained when I talked about Varuṇa. He puts pāśa over you and forced you to do service and then your freedom is finished. Varuṇa won’t let you do business, he will put you into service. If Sūrya starts supporting him, then he will pull Śani out of debilitation. Tell me about Sūrya related remedies. Did you see how I used Kālacakra to catch the problem, and how we understood the Śukra-related problem? From there we found out Śani is related to this problem and is Nīca and this debilitation of Śani is the real problem. And do you know which Graha gets very bad when Maṅgala and Śani conjoin? What does Bhāvārtha Ratnākara say? What did I teach you about three Graha combination?
Student: inaudible
Guruji: Correct. So, here are three Graha Maṅgala, nīca Śani and Śukra. So, which is the natural benefic here? Śukra. Which is the most malefic? Śani is the worst, because it is debilitated. Now, put them in line. Śani is nīca and is the worst, Maṅgala is the second worse, and Śukra is the best among three.
Śukra>Maṅgala>Śani
Reversing the order
Śani>Maṅgala>Śukra
So, Śukra Antardaśā will give result of Śani. And, Śani Antardaśā will give results of Śukra. It means in the Śukra Antardaśā of Maṅgala Mahādaśā, he is getting the results of nīca Śani. Am I clear now? He has gotten the results of Nīca Śani. Nīca Śani is trying him to destroy his business so that Śani can push him into doing a job. And this is what is happening. Śani in nīca in randhr bhav, has destroyed the business. What did Śani destroy? Come back on Kālacakra. Śukra loves Śani but Śani hates Śukra. Am I clear? Śukra loves Śani but Śani is bādhaka for Taurus. Śukra is very good for Śani Lagna (Capricorn and Aquarius).
Student: He (somebody) has Śani Lagna then he should not wear a diamond.
Guruji: He should wear a diamond. He is hating Śukra that’s why he is not wearing it. So if he wears it, he will stop hating. And he will accept that yoga.
Please understand! By nature, Śani is very austere planet in nature, he does not like that decoration and pomp show of Śukra. Śani does not like that at all. Śani, by nature, follows tradition. Śani is a stern follower of the tradition. Śukra does not follow tradition, not even by mistake.Śukra feels very trapped in tradition. Śukra is that thing which destroys tradition. See, our tradition, the root for it’s destruction or depletion, is Bollywood. It’s the truth. Bollywood is the area of Sukra. That’s why tradition or Śani, hates Sukra. If you try to destroy me, why would I like you? But without Sukra, Śani cannot work also. God is so weird, he has made this arrangement. You see the point? The idea is that you should not hate anything.
Guru: Guru hates Rāhu. But that is not the solution. Solution lies in going beyond and accepting. You pick up any Śāstra strongly signified by Jupiter, first thing it will say is that “Bharat varsa is the best land, and all other land is maleccha land. This is typical Guru thinking. Rāhu is boundary. Guru hates what is beyond the boundary, so, hates Rāhu. Guru has to breaks out of it. When Guru breaks out of it, then he has no limits. How will Guru expand if he doesn’t break out of boundary. If Guru has to expand, then he should step beyond the boundary.
Similarly, if Śani has to succeed, he has to accept Śukra. Similarly, if Śukra has to win, and if Śukra has to marry, he has to choose Maṅgala. If he hates boys, typical Maṅgala like Boys, and wait’s for a beautiful and soft God like guy, then she might die unmarried and old. You have to grow out of the boundary. Kāla is the boundary of the Graha. It’s very good for him if he steps out of boundary. Please tell me the remedy for his Sūrya, we are still on that. Ātmakāraka is Mercury. You have to study Sūrya, whether it is bhratrikarak or what.. You have to give him a remedy from Sūrya. What’s your Ishta Devatā?
Student: Gāyatrī mantra
Guruji: Gāyatrī mantra? No. I want to do something for Sūrya for Śani’s nīcabhanga.
Student: we can take a Viṣṇu form. Rām
Guruji: Good idea. Rām. But which mantra
Student: Om Namo Bhagvate Ramchandraya.
Guruji: Is it from 12th from karakamsa? 12 syllable mantra starting with om Namo Bhagvate.. They are for mukti, and are 12 syllable. But we don’t want that. We want dharma-mantra. So that he is protected, he rises and earns money. You are giving Om Namo Bhagvate Ramchandraya. Do you give mantras blindly? What is the purpose of the mantra, you have to keep this in mind while giving the mantra. He is not asking for Mukti mantra.
Student: 7th house is Śiva.
Guruji: As per Praśna Mārga, Sūrya in every house is Śiva. Whatever results are seen from prashna for Sūrya, if you want to fructify those Sūrya results, you have to do Pañcākṣarī. Similarly for Ketu, whatever you can say Matsya Avatar, this and that, but until work on the roots of Ketu, you cannot work further, and that root of Ketu is Ganesh. Where is Sūrya in Navāṃśa from Ātmakāraka?
Student: 7th
Guruji: What is your wife’s name?
Student: Anuja
Guruji: Anuja. See! Wife’s name has come from Sūrya’s akshara “a”.
Another Student: Mallikarjuna jyotirlinga mantra.
Guruji: Tell me why Mallikarjuna mantra?
Student: Because Sūrya is Śiva and it is modified by Budha, so, that’s why Budha’s Jyotirlinga, Mallikarjuna.
Guruji: Sūrya is Āditya and if you take Suirya in Budha’s direction it’s Āditya. What are the Āditya for the nine directions? Remember this in Dig-cakra, that Krishna Bhagavān gave these nine-names for Āditya, and depending on the Graha, we pick up.
East: Sūrya
South-East, Maṅgala-kāla, Ravi-dig: Ravi
South, Guru-kāla, Maṅgala-dig: Vivasvān
South-West, Budha-kāla, Rāhu-dig: Bhaga
West: Varuṇa
North-West: Mitra
North: Āditya
North-East: Viṣṇu
Ketu: Bhāskara
I have thought deepply for him and that it should be Āditya for his Sūrya. You know why? I am also rectifying the Lagneśa Budha. See, whenever someone has bad health, call Sūrya by the name related to Lagneśa. It is good for health. Lagneśa is a Graha, but we want Sūrya’s form for it, so that our health is fine. For example, My Lagneśa is Guru, and Sūrya name for Guru’s direction, I.e., North-East direction, is Viṣṇu. So, I have to chant the “Viṣṇu”, for good health. Do you understand? His Lagneśa is Budha, so, Āditya is the name which should be chanted. The mantra is
Oṃ Ghṛṇiḥ Sūrya Ādityaḥ
It is considered the best mantra. But 10 syllable mantra will be good for him. His problem is money related.
Oṃ Hrīṃ Ghṛṇiḥ Sūrya Ādityaḥ Śrīṃ
This really torments me that the younger generation has completely forsaken the Indian Languages, and what will happen in future if this goes on. Britishers won and poor Gandhi lost. Oṃ Hrīṃ Ghṛṇiḥ Sūrya Ādityaḥ Śrīṃ, and this is without visarga. There are other mantras also:
Oṃ Ghṛṇiḥ Sūryāya Namaḥ
I prefer simple mantras which you can use in daily life. The nine names of Sūrya which I have just told you now, is Upadesa of Shri Krsna to Arjuna. Wake up early in Morning, and offer water to Sūrya through Arghya practice, and offer that through these names. If you do that, whole life will go just fine and you will succeed in all the karmas.
East, Sūrya : Oṃ Ghṛṇiḥ Sūryāya Namaḥ This is for Sūrya dig
Śukra, South-East :Oṃ Ghṛṇiḥ Ravaye Namaḥ
South, Maṅgala : Oṃ Ghṛṇiḥ Vivasvate Namaḥ
South-West, Rāhu: Oṃ Ghṛṇiḥ Bhagāya Namaḥ Not “Bhagavate”, it’s “Bhagāya“.
West, Śani : Oṃ Ghṛṇiḥ Varuṇāya Namaḥ
North-West, Candra : Oṃ Ghṛṇiḥ Mitrāya Namaḥ
Budha, North: Oṃ Ghṛṇiḥ Ādityāya Namaḥ. See the difference, tantra tell us “Om Ghrini Sūrya Āditya”, but Sri Krsna teaches Oṃ Ghṛṇiḥ Ādityāya Namaḥ
North-East, Bṛhaspati: Oṃ Ghṛṇiḥ Viṣṇave Namaḥ
Ketu :Oṃ Ghṛṇiḥ Bhāskarāya Namaḥ
| Graha | Mantra |
|---|---|
| Sūrya | Oṃ Ghṛṇiḥ Sūryāya Namaḥ |
| Candra | Oṃ Ghṛṇiḥ Mitrāya Namaḥ |
| Maṅgala | Oṃ Ghṛṇiḥ Vivasvate Namaḥ |
| Budha | Oṃ Ghṛṇiḥ Ādityāya Namaḥ |
| Bṛhaspati | Oṃ Ghṛṇiḥ Viṣṇave Namaḥ |
| Śukra | Oṃ Ghṛṇiḥ Ravaye Namaḥ |
| Śani | Oṃ Ghṛṇiḥ Varuṇāya Namaḥ |
| Rāhu | Oṃ Ghṛṇiḥ Bhagāya Namaḥ |
| Ketu | Oṃ Ghṛṇiḥ Bhāskarāya Namaḥ |
Do these mantra according to what is your Lagneśa, so that Lagna always works. If there is a planet in Lagna, then do that Graha first.
How to choose the mantra:
If there is a planet sitting in your Lagna, then that planet will dominate. If there is no planet sitting on your Lagna, then take the lord of Lagna. If there are two or more planets sitting on the Lagna, take the strongest one. That planet is to be chosen for these directions. These are called Āditya Hridaya. Whoever does these mantra every morning, then totally, God will sit in his heart. Now you got to know with the help of this Kālacakra that the Sūrya which is in the sahasra-yoni, how you turn it into sahasra-chakshu. This Upadesh of Shri Krishna will help. He gave such a powerful Upadesh to Arjuna. And when you convert sahasra-yoni into sahasra-chakshu, mukti is guaranteed. Choose one of these mantra from the Planet of Lagna, all you life will be sorted, and all karma will succeed. Everyday morning.
(note = here, Guru ji has chosen mantras according to dig-Graha which is on the inside. What guruji has done is that he superimposed two chakras, Sūrya-chakra which is the Dig-cakra and is presided by dakpalas which are the devatā in those directions. And Second chakra is the Kāla Cakra which is signified by kāla Graha, and Devatā for this will be different).
So, as an exercise we will do this quickly for everybody here. So, that you get to know he correct mantra for yourself. Oṃ Hrīṃ Ghṛṇiḥ Sūrya Ādityaḥ Śrīṃ, it is for your current problem, as soon as this problem goes away, you have to come back to these mantra for Lagna.
Student: (Kanyā Lagna, Budha as Lagneśa and Lagna is empty): Oṃ Ghṛṇiḥ Ādityāya Namaḥ
Guruji: (to other students): if you have two Lagneśa, then find out which one is stronger and choose mantra from that. First, if your Lagna is empty, find out which one of your two Lagneśa, is putting aspect on your Lagna. If only one of the Graha is putting Dṛṣṭi on your Lagna, choose that one. Take only the Rāśi Dṛṣṭi here, not the Graha-Dṛṣṭi. See we are doing the exercise.
Student: Rāhu is in marana Kāraka, and is putting Graha-Dṛṣṭi on Lagna, whereas, Budha is putting Rāśi Dṛṣṭi from 7th house.
Guruji: Even if Rāhu is in Marana Kāraka sthāna, it is not bad for you because it is the Lagneśa. So, you have to work on this Rāhu. This is about Lagneśa in marana Kāraka and you have to bring the Lagneśa out of marana Kāraka. The way to do this, is to choose Sūrya mantra from the Graha-dig related to this Lagneśa. So, the mantra is from South-West because that is the dig of Rāhu, I.e., Om Ghrini Bhagaaya Namah. Today you have got the perfect mantra from you because this will bring your Lagneśa out of marana Kāraka.
Student: (having Vrischika Lagna): Oṃ Ghṛṇiḥ Vivasvate Namaḥ
Student: Lagneśa Budha, Moon and Ketu in Lagna
Guruji: Okay, tell me which one is stronger among Moon and Ketu.
Student: Ketu is debilitated
Guruji: good answer. Ketu is debilitated. When multiple planets are sitting, then the one with higher Rāśi-relation like exaltation etc., will be the strongest. Here, Ketu is debilitated, so, Ketu is the weaker one, and Moon is stronger. Ketu is Nīca. And if there are multiple planets who are in same level of Rāśi-strength, like, both in friendly sign, both in inimical sign, both in own sign, then you have to check the degree, the one having higher degree will be strongest. So, tell me the mantra from Candra.
Student: Oṃ Ghṛṇiḥ Mitrāya Namaḥ
Guruji: Correct.
Another Student: Venus is lord of Lagna and no other planet there.
Guruji: okay, tell me the mantra
Student: Om ghrini Vishwamitraaya Namah
Guruji: It’s not vishwamitra. It’s Mitra. Oṃ Ghṛṇiḥ Mitrāya Namaḥ. And the mantra you have told, is not for Venus. For Venus, tell me the direction
Student: west
Guruji: West is the Graha-kāla of Śukra, it is not the Graha-dig of Śukra. Kāla is outside the circle, dig is inside.
Student: South-East
Guruji: What is the name? Ravi. So, what will be the mantra? Om Ghrini Ravaye Namah. Okay, next student:
Student: Lagneśa is Mars. Rāhu is sitting in Lagna.
Guruji: If Rāhu is sitting, you have to choose from Rāhu.
Student: Oṃ Ghṛṇiḥ Viṣṇave Namaḥ
Guruji: how can it be Viṣṇu. What is the direction of Rāhu in Graha-Dig-cakra? South-West. Om ghrini bhagaaya Namah. What this mantra will do, is that it will make this Graha like Sūrya.
Another Student: Tula Lagna, and Venus is the Graha
Guruji: Oṃ Ghṛṇiḥ Ravaye Namaḥ.
Student: Lagneśa Rāhu, three planets in Lagna, Sūrya, Budha and Sukra.
Guruji: Okay, it seems you are stuck.
Student: Sūrya has Dig-bala
Guruji: Sūrya does not have Dig-bala in Lagna. Tell me which one is strongest.
Student: Mercury has Dig-bala
Guruji: Mercury will always have Digbala in Lagna. Other planets cannot have Digbala in Lagna. So, Digbala cannot be a consideration to find out the strongest one. Whenever you compare, you should give equal opportunity. Guru and Budha have Digbala in Lagna, but other Graha cannot have Digbala in Lagna, and other planets should get equal opportunity. So, Dig-bala cannot be a consideration to finding out the strongest one. That is unfair. So, first you check if there is an exalted. No, no one is exalted. Now, check whether a planet is in own sign? No. That is also not there. Now, next go to degree:
Student: Sukra has highest degree.
Guruji: So, what will be the mantra from Sukra?
Students: Oṃ Ghṛṇiḥ Raviye Namaḥ
Guruji: It’s Ravaye, not Raviye.
Student: My horoscope was not made, year is unknown
Guruji: Even year is unknown? Note the time, and make prashna chart right now. First tell me the degree of Guru.
Student: 19-43
Guruji: It means Guru is in 8th dwadaśāmsh. So, 8th from Tula, is vrishabh. Vrishabh means.. Where was Guru in 1940? It was in Siṃha in 1943. She has Guru in vrishabh Rāśi in her horoscope. Whenever you make her chart, Guru should be in vrishabh Rāśi. Okay. Now tell me the Navāṃśa of Lagna right now.
Student: Mīna
Guruji: Yes, it should be jala, I also found out by using current time, that it should be jala. Either it should be jala Lagna or Kanyā Lagna. Lagna should be one of the four. Mostly, Kanyā is correct, and Guru is in 9th house in Vrishabha, and do you have approximation about month of birth?
Student: I was told, that my birth was o Sharada Purnima
Guruji: is it Sharad Purnima? Now, it’s so easy to find out.
Student: Guru was in Dhanu in 1948
Guruji: it was in Siṃha in 1943. And, prashna tell that it’s ashtama from Tula, in Vrishabha. (Guru is in Tula at the time of this lecture)
Gurvi Sarbani ji: Sharad Purnima comes in October or November.
Guruji: so, do it October 1940. Madam! Prashna always shows the truth, your Guru must be in Vrishabha.
Student: October 1940 shows Guru in the 20th degree in Meṣa.
Guruji: Try 1941.
Student: It comes in Vṛṣabha.
Student whose chart is being discussed: Father said it must be 1939 or 1940.
Guruji: Okay, that’s also right; it can be plus one or minus one from the Rāśi of Praśna. But it cannot be in 1939. Mukunda Daivajña has allowed plus one or minus one from the Praśna. Mukunda Daivajña has given a good śloka on it. That Pahāḍī Jyotiṣī was a brilliant one. It cannot be 1939. So, it is 1940 and Kanyā Lagna. You don’t like Jupiter in the 8th house?
Another Student: If we take Kanyā Lagna, then Maṅgala, Rāhu, and Sūrya are in Lagna.
Guruji: Maṅgala, Rāhu, and Sūrya in Lagna! Was your childhood difficult?
Student: Yes.
Guruji: Were there diseases in your childhood?
Student: Yes.
Guruji: See, the Lagna is correct. Maṅgala, Rāhu, and Sūrya… And at least till eight years of age, the 8th Lord is in Lagna. Correct, Kanyā Lagna is correct.
Student: Mercury is in the 2nd house and Venus is in the 12th house.
Guruji: Naturally, her kids are in foreign countries as the 9th Lord is in the 12th. Upapada is coming into Tula Rāśi with Mercury in it; it is very good. What is the Tithi?
Student: Yes, Śarada Pūrṇimā.
Guruji: Your birth was in October 1940, with Kanyā Lagna. That is correct. Now, find out which one is strongest, and do the mantras. Now next:
Student: Kumbha Lagna.
Guruji: Which one is stronger?
Student: Rāhu is in the 2nd house.
Guruji: Rāhu is in the 2nd house and Śani is in the 3rd house and debilitated. But I think parivartana is also there.
Student: Saturn is Vargottama.
Guruji: Saturn is in the 3rd and Vargottama. Rāhu in the 2nd is… Rāhu is in Kanyā, and Rāhu is very strong in Kanyā, so Rāhu is very strong in Navāṃśa. Okay, go deeper, make the complete chart properly, and sit with Sarbani and do it. It will be a very good exercise. We are thinking that Rāhu is stronger. But I have seen that Saturn has dominated her life. Saturn is very strong. She is very traditional, she is a follower of the tradition, and all those things of Saturn are very strong. Rāhu in the 2nd house is a totally different thing from the type of person she is. So, what will the mantra from Śani be?
Oṃ Ghṛṇi Varuṇāya Namaḥ.
What will be the mantra for me?
Oṃ Ghṛṇi Viṣṇave Namaḥ.
For the next class, please study the combination of planets. Please study Śāradā Yoga. Please study Gajakeśarī Yoga. Please study Guru-Cāṇḍāla Yoga.
Okay, Thank You.
