Budha graha in 4H MKS
Mercury is dying in the 4th house. What does it mean? Mercury, who wants to play is dying here becausehe is forced to stop playing and should go to school.
4th bhāva is a bhāva that represents formal education also. But Budha wants his friends and doesn’t want to go to school.
So when Mercury is in the 4th house, that can cause also education/learning problem. Maraṇa kāraka means, he is feeling very forced and dying because he hates going to school.
So Mercury in MKS in any divisional chart, shows a learning problem in that divisional chart. We can have a serious learning problem in that area of life. We should later also research on that.
Before we get into conclusion about the results of MKS graha, we should explore:
- Which Kārakatva of this graha is dying
- Kāraka of the bhāva occupied by the MKS Graha
- Look at the bhāva ruled by MKS Graha
- Look at the bhāva ruled by Graha, which is in yuti with MKS Graha
When Budha is in MKS in 4th bhava we should see:
- If Budha is dying or Chandra – Kāraka of 4th bhāva is dying
- Which Kārakatva of Budha is dying (work, karma- Bu is Kāraka of 10th bhāva)
- Which Kārakatva or Chandra is geting hit (mother, social norms)
- Examine Mithuna rāśi and it’s bhāva it occupies
- If there is any Graha with Budha, the other Graha is drowning and the bhāvas ruled by this graha get afflicted
- If Guru has strong influence than it can protect from bad results.
We can see here, that Budha in MKS in 4th bhāva can damage our mind also. So we should always take care of our mind, bringing it into sattva. 4th bhāva requires purity and strength of the mind. Bhagavat Gita states the same:
Bhagavat Gita ch 14. verse 6
तत्र सत्त्वं निर्मलत्वात्प्रकाशकमनामयम् ।
सुखसङ्गेन बध्नाति ज्ञानसङ्gena चानघ ॥ ६ ॥
tatra sattvaṁ nirmalatvāt prakāśakam anāmayam |
sukha-saṅgena badhnāti jñāna-saṅgena cānagha || 6 ||
O sinless one, the mode of goodness, being purer than the others, is illuminating, and it frees one from all sinful reactions. Those situated in that mode become conditioned by a sense of happiness and knowledge.
CASE STUDIES BUDHA IN MKS – 4th bhava
Swami Vidyaranya
(source: Collected Papers of Vedic Astrology, Pt. Sanjay Rath)

Swami Vidyaranya (born as Madhava) belonged to a highly educated, pious, and deeply cultured Brahmin family. Swamiji served as the 12th Jagadguru (head) of the Sringeri Sharada Peetham from 1380 to 1386 and played a foundational role in South Indian history. His initial education was overseen by his father, Mayanacharya, who was himself a highly respected royal priest and scholar. Under Sage Shankarananda Vidyaranya mastered foundational spiritual and linguistic concepts. Then he went to Sringeri Sharada Peetham monastery where he studied Advaita Vedanta philosophy (Vedas and Vedanta, Mantra shastra, Vyakarana and non dualistic philosophy) . He possessed complete mastery over all four Vedas, later enabling him to write their definitive commentaries.
How can all this happen if his BU AK is in MKS?
When Budha is in 4th bhava we should look also for kāraka of 4th bhava – Chandra; where and how is placed. Chandra as kāraka for home/mother land, compassion in 8th bhava shows renunciation of home and wordly matters.
Candra’s placement in strength in its own rashi shows a strong commitment to mother or mother land. As Chandra is in tattva level we should look now at Śukra the Lord of Candra’s exaltation.
Śukra is also giving nīcabhaṅga to Budha. It is ucha in Kendra and digbala- being ucha in Kendra it forms Mālavya Mahāpuruṣa yoga. This in term gives the ability to organize and manage people and social activities.
Swamiji’s Budha gets nīcabhaṅga also from a very strong Guru who is well placed in Lagna, digbala and in own rāśi in Haṃsa Mahāpuruṣa yoga. This indicates very good hearted, compassionate, spiritual person with briliance and supreme intellect. This Guru as BK, dispositor of Budha AK and is putting also rāśi dṛṣṭi on Budha which adds to protection from bad MKS result and received an excellent education at the finest possible institution of Śaṅkarācārya.
Debilitated Budha here is also indicating desire for renunciation instead of accumulating money. Nīcabhaṅga of Budha here indicatess ability to turn adversity into benefit through sheer hard work and commitment. He gifted all properties to Sringeri Saradā Maṭha for scholars and spirituals benefit.
When Budha is in 4th bhāva effects of MKS will go to the bhāva where Mithuna rāśi is. Mithuna rāśi happens to be 7th bhāva with strong Śani in digbala with rāśi dṛṣṭi and graha dṛṣṭi on his AK Budha. This indicates strong ability to face sorrow and suffering in his life.
Budha as kāraka of 10th bhāva, with strong nīcabhaṅga from Gu and Śk and strong Sa in Kendra confirm him as karma yogi. And also Su is very strong – uccha in 5th bhava.
- Coulibaly, Amédy

Amédy Coulibaly (1982–2015) was a French terrorist who carried out coordinated attacks in Paris in January 2015. It was Ra/Śk Vimshottari dasha. Lets us see why this happened?
Budha is badly placed in 4th bhāva in MKS. Affliction will go to bhāva where is Mithuna rāśi. That bhāva becomes damage, impure. Mithuna is in 9th bhava so his dharma will be afflicted and become impure. Here is also niccha Rahu and in MKS which will adds to bad results. Other three malefiks (Shani, Mandal and Ketu) have also rāśi dṛṣṭi on 9th bhava. We can see that his dharma will completely go to the wrong path.
Candra as kāraka for 4th bhāva is also weak in 6th bhāva, under rāśi dṛṣṭi of 4 malefics (Śani, Mangal, Rāhu and Ketu). Candra is in Revatī– Budha’s MKS nakṣatra. That all show very badly afflicted mind.
Guru is in digbala on Lagna, but can not help (has no aspect on Budha) and it is afflicted by Śani and Mangal pāpakartarī and full dṛṣṭi from MKS Rāhu in 9th bhāva. Śukra as Lagna Lord is under affliction from MKS Budha and this will damage his Lagna, intellect, Viveka. This terrorist attack happened in Ra/ Śk Kṣema Viṃśottarī Daśā. We can now cleary see why: Ra in Mithuna in 9th bhava andŚukra with MKS Budha, both are very afflicted.
- Riley Eileen Casey

https://deva.guru/public/share/AlE5U0X4QC7AwI4
Riley Eileen Casey lost her mother in one of the most tragic events in modern history — in terrorist attackks on WTC in 11th of September 2001.
Budha is in MKS, and the kāraka of the 4th bhāva is Candra, who is also theKāraka for the mother. Candra is badly afflicted by Ketu and is under pāpakartarī formed by Maṅgala and MKS Budha.
Guru has four-pāda dṛṣṭi on MKS Budha, but Guru is weak in the 8th bhāva. He is under three malefic afflictions: yuti with Śani, kartarī by Rāhu, and graha dṛṣṭi from Maṅgala. Therefore, Guru could not protect the 4th bhāva. We can see that this tragedy happened in the Guru/Śani period of the Utpanna Vimśottarī Daśā.
- Prince Friedrich of Hesse

https://deva.guru/public/share/ql0NcRMGxFEP3IW

Prince Friedrich of Hesse and by Rhine (1870–1873) was the youngest son of Louis IV, Grand Duke of Hesse, and Princess Alice of the United Kingdom. As a grandson of Queen Victoria, he inherited hemophilia and tragically died at the age of two from internal bleeding after an accidental fall.
We can see here an afflicted Lagna Lord, MKS Budha, and a strong Sarpa Yoga. The affliction goes to the Lagna, where Chāṇḍāla Yoga is also present. Budha is uccha, but he is in MKS and therefore “buried.” Guru cannot help, even though he has digbala, because he is too heavily afflicted by all the malefics.
Chandra, as the kāraka for health and blood, is also badly placed, having zero digbala and being under rāśi dṛṣṭi from four malefics.
Chandra is in Śani’s nakṣatra, and Chāṇḍāla Yoga is present in the Lagna, indicating danger from falling from height. The death occurred in the Śani/Budha daśā. MKS Budha, as the dispositor of the Chāṇḍāla Yoga in the Lagna, destroys the Lagna — the person himself, represented by Mithuna rāśi.
Śani, as the 8th lord, has rāśi dṛṣṭi on Chandra, as well as both graha dṛṣṭi and rāśi dṛṣṭi on Budha and on the Chāṇḍāla Yoga in the Lagna. Śani is also badly afflicted in Mūla Gandānta.

Aaron Copland (1900–1990) was an influential American composer, conductor, and writer. He was homosexual and never married. He accepted his sexuality early in life and was open about it within his private circle of friends, colleagues, and collaborators.
His Budha is in the 4th bhāva in MKS, together with Rāhu and Guru. Therefore, Rāhu and Guru also receive the effects of MKS. Here we see Guru-Chāṇḍāla Yoga, which can indicate the death or collapse of something significant. Guru represents norms, dharma, and traditional values; therefore, the person may not follow these norms but may instead break away from them.
The 4th bhāva also represents social conditioning, emotional foundations, and accepted social norms. In this case, he broke with conventional expectations by not marrying and not having children. Because of this configuration, he accepted his homosexuality without inner conflict or major personal difficulty.
The bhāvas ruled by Rāhu and Guru become “drowned” through their association with MKS Budha. Rāhu rules the 7th bhāva, so marriage is lost. Guru rules the 5th bhāva, so children are also lost or denied.
We can see here how MKS Budha eclipsed his mind. Not only the mind, represented by Chandra, but also the Lagna, consciousness, and intelligence are eclipsed by the MKS graha.
