Graha tattva, characters and mantra (Atri class 02-001)

Guruji Sanjay Rath: (he might have given some mantra before the start of the class that are not audible in the audio). So, we are now very clear that we have got five principal mantras. You can meditate on these five sounds to cure any disease in your body. All the diseases have roots in one of the five basic elements. And these five mantras can cure one element each. How to find out that which tattva is creating problems? Let us say in somebody’s horoscope, the 8th lord is Jupiter. Then the tattva causing disease is the Ākāśa tattva. In a kuṇḍalī (horoscope), the 8th lord indicates the tattva that is causing diseases. This concept is called nija doṣa. This is native’s own fault, his own past karmas. No one can escape the past life karma. The bad karma from past karma, become nija doṣa. 8th house gives long life, because it is going to make you to bear the fruits of your past life karmas. You are born in this world, because you have to live the fruits of your bad karma from past life. You are born because of Śani, you will stay here and you will cry. This is life’s aim, i.e., to end the bad karmas from past life, and to do good karma, so that you are happy when you die. Thus, I have explained the difference between Oṃ and Rāma. So, at least with this, you have an opportunity. What was the topic in today’s syllabus? Vāhana and Ratha. What is the meaning of Vāhana of a Graha and why do we call these planets as “Graha”? These planets, called as Graha, grasp the native. And, sometimes the native cannot do anything but to bear the fruits of his own bad karmas from past life. These Grahas grasp us and pull us into an āyana. Thus, we cannot do anything but to play at their will. We think that we have strength to do whatever we want to do. But that is not the reality. At a point in time, what we think and what we do is totally dictated and decided by the Grahas. How do they do it? One of the methods by which they do it, is known as thought, vichāra. The root of thoughts comes from Grahas. This has been explained in the Veda by a beautiful mantra: śucim arkair Bṛhaspatiṃ adhvareṣu namasyata | anāmyoja ā cakre ||. In this mantra Viśvāmitra has said that one should always do namaskāra to Bṛhaspati and pray that only best thoughts will come to the mind and brain. If Bṛhaspati gives only the best thoughts, then Grahas cannot have negative control over you. If every thought in my brain has come from Bṛhaspati, then how can my thoughts be bad? And for one whose thoughts are the best, the karma will be the best. Because karma comes from thoughts. So, how the Grahas grasp you? They give you the thoughts. Sometimes thoughts come in your wake state, and sometimes in your dreams too. These thoughts force you to do some karma that Grahas want you to do. They can make you try for a job, or migrate to foreign country such as America because you have been made to believe by the Graha that there are better opportunities in that country. It is from such thoughts, that you are going to have more thoughts, and thus you will do an action. Thoughts are the root to our actions. The word Graha primarily means that they have the power to influence your thoughts. How do you protect yourself from negative thoughts? A negative thought is anything that makes you do a karma, that ultimately makes you to be reborn and not have mukti. This is the definition of a negative thought. If I am having any thought which is not causing me to reincarnate, then, those thoughts are good. Every thought which will lead to a desire and which will lead to reincarnation, is a wrong thought. It is not a sāttvika thought. A sāttvika thought will never cause you to reincarnate. rajas will still give you some amount of happiness. But tamas will not even give that happiness. Why? What is rajas? Which Grahas are rajas? Venus and Mercury are rajas Grahas. Since Venus and Mercury are rajas Grahas the thoughts they generate are also rajas. It is because of these rajas thoughts, that we go for a job. What is Mercury? Mercury is ruling your entire career. You are doing something and getting money for that, is all ruled by Mercury. Somebody is becoming rich while someone else is becoming poor, all this is the play of rajas. Only one Graha rules this, and that is Budha. Budha (Mercury) is the kāraka of Daśama Bhāva (10th house). That is why he is controlling, he is the most powerful planet, and he bows down before only one name: Viṣṇu. Budha Graha is so powerful that the whole economic world, the financial world is under the control of one Graha only, and that is Mercury. From Mercury, a thought relating to work comes into our brain. We are going to do work for wealth. We are not going to do work because we want to do it for free. There are very few people, who are doing work, simply because they have to do work. This is what Krishna teaches in Bhagavad Gītā. Who is Kṛṣṇa? Kṛṣṇa is Viṣṇu avatāra (an incarnation of Viṣṇu). Viṣṇu avatāra teaches us to forego the rajas-thoughts and get out of the grasp of Budha Graha. Which is the other rajas planet? Śukra, which is very powerful planet. The desire of the whole world, whoever it may be, comes from 7th house. The root of “moha” (attachment) is Śukra. Desire for beautiful clothes, expensive car, big house, etc., comes from Śukra. It is a very powerful world. You can drink water with steel glass, you can drink it with mud glass and you can also drink water with Gold Glass. It is all the game of Śukra. Two Grahas are controlling the world and playing with it, Śukra and Budha. And Śukra bows down to only one name: Mahālakṣmī Mā. Lakṣmī Mā, the Mother has that wealth, that she can buy the whole world, then how will Śukra make the world, dance? So, who runs this world? Śukra and Budha. And who are the Devatā for these two planets? Viṣṇu and Lakṣmī Mā. That is why sustainers of this world are Viṣṇu and Lakṣmī Mā. It is so simple to explain this. And, these two Grahas keep playing in every human’s mind, whatever may be the Daśā? 90% of the people who come to ask any question to a Jyotiṣī are either about marriage and relationships (Venus) or are about a job or source of earnings (Budha). These two kinds of Praśna take most of a Jyotiṣī’s time.

In life, sukha and duḥkha, are divided into rajas and tamas respectively. There are four tamas Grahas. One is Maṅgala. The thoughts relating to Maṅgala are like these: “how do I beat him up and make him scared from me”; “as soon as he sees me, he should be afraid”. Such kinds of thoughts are related to Maṅgala. Who thinks like this? Either policeman or a thief. Maṅgala Graha gives thoughts like this, because of which you want to increase your power and position. This is a kind of intoxication. Intoxication from power and position is caused by Maṅgala. Every morning, after waking up, the first thought comes, how do I raise my power and position. How do I increase my political position? The world today, is devoid of sattva, maybe little sattva is remaining in extreme places and in rare people, but mostly the world today, in Kali-yuga, is filled with rajas and tamas. Rāma-rājya, is nearly impossible in this Kali-yuga, only Maṅgala will become the king. The one having the most strength, will become king. The most powerful country is America because it has the most powerful nuclear bomb. The power of nations is based on strength. In this world, political works are considered to be better when performed on Maṅgalavāra, (Tuesday), because that is the day of Maṅgala Mahārāja. The people who are in influence of Maṅgala, will keep thinking like: “how to weaken him, how to debilitate him, etc.”. They want to dominate people and have absolute command over others. When I invite him for some task, he must not dare to say “No”. This is Maṅgala Graha and the president and down to security guards are under the influence of Maṅgala. Then comes Śani, the one who always gets beaten up by Maṅgala. When Maṅgala beats someone, the someone who gets beaten-up is under the influence of Śani. So, Śani is focused on vengeance, blood for blood and eye for an eye. This Śani always thinks like this, and this is the relation between Maṅgala and Śani. Nobody can live happily with these kinds of thoughts. When we talk of happiness and bliss, we were talking about Budha and Śukra, i.e., rajas-Grahas. In the world of war, pain, fights and sorrow, the next Graha after Maṅgala and Śani, is Rāhu. The thoughts relating to Rāhu are: forgery, cheating, treachery, knowing every loophole in law or every loophole in enemy’s strategy; Rāhu is expert in such matters. Rāhu is diabolical and extremely dangerous. Whereas, the fourth tamas Graha is Ketu, and every antisocial thought is generated by Ketu. Not everything in society can be subjected to regulation. Some practices in society have become redundant. To break every such redundant practice in society, is the job of Ketu. Ketu can break every kind of social practice. That’s why Ketu eclipses the Moon because Moon is society. For example, terrorist. So, this is the world, full of war, pain, and frustration, made out of Maṅgala, Śani, Rāhu and Ketu. The happy world is from Budha and Śukra. Tell me one thing. Do you see mukti anywhere in these rajas and tamas Graha? No, it is not. That’s why, sattva takes you to mukti. There are three sattva Grahas: Sūrya, Candra and Guru. The thoughts relating to Sūrya cause one to be karma-yogī. Budha signifies karma. But Krishna taught, karma is not sufficient, you have to become karma-yogī. So, your thoughts should not be dominated by Budha, because if they do, then you will leave a job if another job offers better money. This kind of thought is wrong. You should think about the karma you can do which will keep enlightening the world in future. The work should satisfy your soul. That is the best karma for you. That’s why the native becomes karma-yogī because of Sūrya. Other rajas Graha, Śukra, should be won over with sattva of Candra. There is a difference between “care” and “attachment”. Śukra is attachment, (moha). Candra is “love and care”, you care deeply for a person. Like mother loves and cares for her kid, although mother can also be attached with her kid, which can be wrong. But the love and care of Candra, of a mother, doesn’t expect anything in return. For example, when buying a car, either you can buy a car that has a social influence and is the best in social opinion, or on the other hand, you can buy a car that is your favourite regardless of the social opinion about that car. The former is Śukra and the latter is Candra. That kind of feeling is caused by Candra. Hence, Sūrya and Candra are the higher levels of Budha and Śukra. Now come to a standard, that has the qualities of both Sūrya and Candra, and that is Bṛhaspati. The complete sattva inside and outside, is in Guru. Guru gives the sattva which makes you do karma, which is for the betterment of the whole world. While karma from Sūrya is for the betterment of human race, the karma from Guru is for the betterment of the whole universe. These are our nine planets. They influence by giving us thoughts and thus dominate our actions. Until we have a mind, the Grahas will definitely have influence on us. There is only one way to be saved from this, and that is mantra japa. Manas plus trāṇa is mantra. Manas means the mind, trāṇa means protection, mantra protects the mind. And I have given you the five seed sounds for protecting the mind, ya, ra, la, va, ha. These five seed sounds, are protecting the body made from five basic tattva. When mind goes to Viṣṇu, Budha Graha cannot influence such a mind. That is called Viṣṇu-mantra. When the mind is devoted in a Viṣṇu-mantra, the native will not do karma for the fruits of that karma. Likewise, Śukra can influence a mind, only until Lakṣmī Mā is blessing the mind. When Mother Lakṣmī Mā blesses the mind, the rajas of Venus is finished. So, Viṣṇu and Lakṣmī Mā raise the person from rajas to sattva. The hardest and most difficult to be controlled and finished is tamas, i.e., Maṅgala’s anger and Śani’s kopa.

Scribe’s notes: kopa is the passive anger caused by some pain inflicted upon the person, for which the native is not going to forgive the wrongdoer. When native holds on to such a feeling, it is called kopa.

Guru Sanjay Rath continues: Maṅgala bows down to Rudra. For example, if Maṅgala says “I am the strongest and most powerful”. Rudra laughs and says “your end will also come; I will take your life”. Maṅgala bows down to Rudra only because Maṅgala understands strength and only strength. That’s why he bows down to Rudra. Rudras are 11 and are incarnations of Śiva. Maṅgala bows down to the one who has the strength to kill Maṅgala, and that is Rudra. That’s why whenever Maṅgala is averse in a horoscope, Rudrābhiṣeka calms down Maṅgala. The person who worships Rudra, will always be full of strength, there will never be a lack of strength in the person. When a person gets sick, the body needs strength to fight off the disease. In such a case, Rudrābhiṣeka is the remedy. Now comes the story of Śani. When you were a little child, and you were crying, who came running to you first, your mother or your father? Today I am giving the greatest secret of Śani, to you. Śani bows down at the feet of the mother, and only mother. Śani is such a hardcore Graha, full of kopa, is so terrifying, is calmed down by one and only Śakti Mā. None other can calm down Śani. What does he want? Śani wants love and care from mother. Because the love of a mother for her child, is without any expectations. Śani doesn’t want Moha of Śukra. He wants love and care of a mother. That is why Śani is totally calmed down by worship of Śakti. When you do calculations, you will find that the days taken by Candra to take a round around the Bhā-cakra, that many years are taken by Śani, to take a round around the Bhā-cakra. This is so strange. Candra takes 28 days, and Śani takes 28 years. It means that duḥkha and sukha run hand in hand, duḥkha is signified by Śani whereas, sukha is only in the mother’s care. You should check the Nakṣatra in which Śani is placed. The burnt dead śarīra of Satī Mātā, was cut into 52 parts, why not 48 and why not 54? The total number of akṣara in Sanskrit is 50, 16 svara, 25 vyañjana, and 9 more, total 50. Then where does 52 come from? Any idea? Because we have seen that the creation is from mother. That is why janma is called yoni-janma. The longevity one gets is from blessings of mother. That is why we calculate longevity through the combination of Candra and Śani. Śani bows down before mother. And we calculate longevity with the combination of Saturn and Moon. Why? Because Saturn will bow only to the Moon. Because the entire creation has been done by the mother. Get the answer for number 52 till the next class. It is crucial to understand this number to understand Śani.

Guru Sanjay Rath continues: We know the link between Candra and Nakṣatras. But it is also crucial to understand the link between Śani and Nakṣatras. Through the Nakṣatra of Śani, we find the mantra that will remove kopa caused by failures and bad events in life. Next comes Rāhu and Ketu. The remedy of Maṅgala is Rudra. The remedy for Śani is Candra. The remedy for Rāhu and Ketu, is Bṛhaspati. This is most important knowledge. Now comes the most important lesson of Jyotiṣa: Bhāgya. What is Bhāgya? Bhāgya means Rakṣā. Bhāgya protects you throughout life. 9th house is the house of Bhāgya. If Budha is in the 9th house, what will you get? Intelligence? No, because intelligence is not ruled by Budha, it is ruled by Guru. Dhī is ruled by Guru. Wisdom? Intelligence? Knowledge? Dhī is a Sanskrit word has four meanings: Buddhi, Śuddhi, Vṛddhi, and Siddhi. Buddhi is intelligence. Śuddhi is purity. Vṛddhi is growth. Siddhi is accomplishment. These are the four Kendra. We get these four Kendra from Bṛhaspati. That is why Bṛhaspati and Kendra are very important. The placement of Bṛhaspati in a Kendra from Ārūḍha Lagna, is very important because of these four Dhī. Buddhi comes from 1st house. Śuddhi comes from 4th house. Śuddhi means cleanliness of mind and thoughts. Vṛddhi comes from 7th house. If you don’t have a wife, from where will you have growth? If you don’t have Lakṣmī Mā, you won’t have wealth. And, Siddhi comes from 10th house. The Lagna Lord sitting in one of these four Kendra, gives that due to the blessings of Bṛhaspati. This is guaranteed. Lagna Lord in Lagna gives buddhi. Lagna Lord in 4th house, gives Śuddhi. Lagna Lord in 7th, gives Vṛddhi. Lagna Lord in 10th house, gives Siddhi and blessings of Gaṇeśa. Buddhi is one part of Dhī. Buddhi is controlled by Bṛhaspati but buddhi is manufactured by Budha. Objective is Bṛhaspati but the process of working towards it, is Budha. So, two Grahas are having Dig-bala in Lagna, are Mercury and Jupiter. These two planets manufacture and control buddhi, respectively. Now come to 4th house, Śuddhi. If Śukra is under bad influence, or badly placed, you cannot have Śuddhi. If in daytime, you are going with 10 women, and in night time you are going with 10 women, how come you have Śuddhi? Śuddhi come from Śukra and Candra. Because they have Dig-bala in 4th house. In the 7th house, Śani and Rāhu. Vṛddhi, or growth is for the person who is not old. If blessings of Śani is there, growth will be maximum. Siddhi means “to achieve”, Sun and Mars get Dig-bala in 10th house. They are called achievers, they can achieve anything. They can do any work. So we have now understood Dhī. Intelligence is ruled by two planets, not one. Intelligence is not only learning, but also digesting that learning. There are people who sit and read from day to night, and when the exam-results come out, they fail. What did Mercury give them? If you understand what you are reading, then why read at all. Reading is definitely Mercury, but you have to understand also. Now, come back to the topic, Bhāgya. Depending upon the planet in the Bhāgya, you must give remedies. When we look at a horoscope, everybody looks at Lagna, I look at the 9th house. In this Kali-yuga, look at Bhāgya first, that is why the person has come to you. If Venus is in 9th house, what will you say: “after marriage, you will be lucky”. If Budha is there, “your work will increase through relatives and friends”. If Maṅgala is there, you will become unlucky because of some fighting or some court case. See, I used the word lucky, when I was talking about Budha and Śukra. I am using the word “unlucky” when I am talking about Maṅgala. Because tamas Graha will give bad luck. rajas Graha will give good luck (materialistic). Then comes sattva Graha. When Guru is the lord of the 9th house, he will be very lucky, when it comes to teachers. When such a native, finds a spiritual-teacher called Guru in Sanskrit, or after the birth of a child, this person will have good luck. And, he/she will not have good luck until the birth of a child. So, it becomes very important for such a native, to find a good spouse, through which he/she can have a child. Because unless you find that spouse, from where will the luck come. The difficult part of Rāma’s life was till the birth of the children. After the birth of children, he lived happily with his family.  Once, Lava and Kuśa were born, after that who knows what happened. He surely must have lived happily ever after. You see the point? Rāma’s 9th lord was Jupiter, once kids were born, he lived happily. See? 9th lord is the most important. If a malefic planet is the lord of the 9th house, it can ruin your luck. How many times they say, Have you seen Vṛṣabha Lagna people? Vṛṣabha Lagna people keep fighting, keep losing, keep fighting, keep losing, keep fighting, keep losing. They neither win, nor accept defeat. It goes on. They are most determined and stubborn. Why? 9th lord is Śani. What about Mithuna Lagna? 9th house is ruled by Rāhu and Śani. You have to find out, which of them is stronger, they can ruin the luck of the person. A Mithuna Lagna person can suffer from terrible bad luck because of cheating. His luck can be totally destroyed. When Saturn is the lord of the 9th house, or is sitting in the 9th house, look at Śakti (devī). I know a person who has got Saturn in the 9th house with the Moon, because of the blessings of Durgā Mā, he went to a Durgā temple, and he did a Pūjā. He was facing so many court cases and so many things. Durgā really came. He met Indira in those days, when Indira Gandhi went to jail, he met her in the jail also. When Indira Gandhi came out of it, she rewarded him. You can imagine how Indira Gandhi was, Durgā actually came into his life. Indira Gandhi supported him, from nothing, he became a multi-millionaire. The priest that did the worship of Durgā Mā on his behalf, asked this fellow to make a brass or golden dome on the top of the temple of Durgā Mā, as per the promise that this fellow had made. The priest knew that he could ask ten other people and they would give the money. This fellow out of his ego, said: “No, no, you are asking for too much money”. This fellow said such a thing and got up and walked out. Within two months, his entire business collapsed. This is Śani in 9th house. How bad luck came? A promise was broken. Can you see how dangerous is Śani of 9th house? 9th house is the most important, it can make you and it can break you.

Ketu becomes 9th lord in Mīna Lagna, Lagna of a Maharṣi. These great sages leave the society and go to Himālaya. Ketu is asocial. So, these Lagna are of that tendency, because Ketu becomes 9th lord. If Ketu is in 9th house or becomes 9th lord, then that Ketu can push that person to leave society and live in Himālaya. What is the way out for this person? Jupiter is the way out: Guru Śaraṇam. What about Maṅgala, if Maṅgala is very strong? Then, fighting, court-cases, battles, etc become the constant thing in life, and luck will get totally spoiled for the native. If a person is lawyer and the 9th lord is Maṅgala, or Maṅgala is in 9th house, then who will come to save him, who will decide whether he wins or loses the court cases? Sūrya will decide. It is the judge who will decide. The head of the court, the entire court runs in his name. When you go to a court, the court is known by the judge’s name. That is Sūrya, they have a lot of Ahankara also. You cannot even speak in their court, you cannot take your cell phone, if it rings, you can go to 2 days in jail also. Even politicians will let you loosen up, but they will not. Ultimately, Sūrya matters, if you have Maṅgala in the 9th house.

So, we are going to decide whether it is good luck or bad luck on the basis of rajas guṇa, or sattva guṇa. rajas guṇa, either Mercury will be very strong, indicating a businessman. Śukra may be very strong, indicating artist, like a film star. A dṛṣṭi of a benefic in 9th house is equally important. If you study Sārāvali, it has given great importance to 9th house. Sārāvali is giving greatest importance to 9th house, do you know why? Sārāvali is the comprehensive summary of Jyotiṣa. 9th house is Bhāgya. High ideals come from Lagna. A person with high ideals, can still have bad luck, because, Bhāgya is bad. So, when you are recommending gemstones, mantras and remedies, if you can improve the 9th house, that person will always sing praises for you, because this can turn his bad luck into good luck.

Now as an exercise, we will take each of our horoscopes, and study the 9th house. First, we will see the planets sitting in the 9th house. If there is no planet in the 9th house, then we will see, the planets aspecting the 9th house, or the lord of the 9th house.

Student 1 (Goel Ji): Kanyā Lagna, Ketu in 9th house

Guru Sanjay Rath: 9th house is Vṛṣabha and has got Ketu in it. What did I just tell you about Ketu? He is very detached and will become like a sadhu. He will go away from this run-of-the-mill society. He just doesn’t like these non-sense stuff at all. Yes, he is in reality like that only. If something is going to keep him in society, is then the lord of the 9th house, Śukra. Marriage will be an important cementing factor in his life. Otherwise, why will he stay in the Saṃsāra with Ketu in the 9th? He will go into the Himālaya. All the time he is reading, Viṣṇu Purāṇa, this book and that book. All the time he is focused on such things, this Ṛṣi said this, that Ṛṣi said that. 24 hours, he is like that only. Ketu in 9th house does this, but Śukra will keep him in this world. His wife will keep him in this world. What else is very important for him? What is opposite of Ketu? Jupiter. Where is Jupiter? Jupiter is in 5th house. Ask him, whether he has children? Yes he has. Does he have a son? Surely, he has. Jupiter has given him children, rather a son, because of which, he is in the Saṃsāra. We should also check for strength of Jupiter. Since, it was Ketu who was in the 9th house, it was necessary for that Jupiter to aspect that Ketu in 9th house. Because, Guru has dṛṣṭi on Ketu, the Bhāgya has been converted. So, is Guru good or bad for me? Guru is very good and important for him.

Student 2: Dhanu is Lagna, Śukra is sitting in 9th house, and

Guru Sanjay Rath: She has Śukra sitting in Siṃha in 9th house, and Bṛhaspati has dṛṣṭi on this. What is the meaning of Śukra in 9th house? Did Life became better after marriage? Yes.

Student 3: Rāhu is in 9th house, Saturn and Moon are aspecting from 3rd house.

Guru Sanjay Rath: She has got Rāhu in 9th house, what is very important for her? So, Guru is most important for her. Either she should wear yellow-sapphire, or should do a Guru-mantra. For example, Vyāsa Deva, Dattātreya, Dakṣināmūrti, she should do a mantra of either one of them because they are Guru-rūpas of God. I leave it to her to think. Guru is in 4th, with Maṅgala. So, Guru plus Maṅgala is Mother’s blessings. It means Guru will come in the form of a mother. When mother comes in the form of Guru, what is her form? It can be Tārā, a form of Kālī Mā. Or if it is a form of Durgā, it can be Brahmacāriṇī. You can do the mantra of either one of them and start doing it. Since Rāhu is in 9th house, it is very important, to worship a Guru-rūpa. I have a student, Visti Larsen. He also has Rāhu in 9th house. Everybody was saying, that his Ātmakāraka Rāhu, was in the 9th house, that it would give him extremely bad luck. But I said to him: “No, it won’t be bad, because you have done lakhs and lakhs of the mantra of Vyāsa Deva. Rāhu will definitely give good results in 9th house”. And, when his Rāhu-daśā came, he has been going to temples and doing various kinds of abhiṣeka, he has joined college also. Why would anything bad happen from that Rāhu in the 9th house if he has done the mantras of Vyāsa Deva? I told him, “you start doing the mantra of Vyāsa Deva, and you see only good will happen”. Because my knowledge is based on very solid foundation. The opposite of Rāhu and Ketu is Guru. His Guru is sitting with Mercury, so Guru is a Guru-rūpa of Viṣṇu. That is Vyāsa Deva.

If Guru is with Budha, Guru-rūpa is that of Viṣṇu, i.e. Vyāsa Deva. If Guru is with Maṅgala, the Guru is the Guru-rūpa of Mother Śakti. If Guru is with Sūrya, the Guru-rūpa is that of Śiva, i.e. Dakṣiṇāmūrti. Understand it like this. If you follow Jyotiṣa in a systematic manner, bad will not happen.

Student 4: Siṃha Lagna, Meṣa in the 9th house, but Guru is aspecting 9th house.

Guru Sanjay Rath: but Maṅgala is 9th lord, so, what should you do? I told you all that we should put tamas Grahas in a group. You should do Rudra or Śiva, for Maṅgala. Śakti for Śani. And Guru for Rāhu as well as Ketu. So, you have Maṅgala as 9th lord. You should do Rudra or Śiva. Which form you will do? Maṅgala is in the 11th house with Mercury and Venus, and aspected by Guru from 5th house. So, you should do the Pañcākṣarī mantra of Śiva, because you have Guru’s aspect from 5th house. Do this mantra daily. As long as Bhāgya is alright, everything is good.

Student 5: Vṛścika Lagna, and Moon is 9th lord, while no planet is in 9th house.

Guru Sanjay Rath: Moon is mother, so, worship Śakti. Which Grahas are sitting with Candra? Rāhu, and Śani are with Candra. I did the calculation with you earlier; Śani is the strongest. So, the form is Kālī Mā.

9th house has peculiar power. As soon as you start doing the mantra related to 9th house, the Bhāgya has the power to pull it towards you. 9th house is the house of dharma, is a very powerful house.

Student 6 (Vishal): Meṣa Lagna, the 9th house is empty, 9th lord is Jupiter and is sitting in 7th house.

Guru Sanjay Rath: Bhāgya will come from offspring, because Guru signifies children. Until he doesn’t have an offspring, Bhāgya will not open. Or Jupiter also signifies teacher, grandfather, elder brother, preachers and priests. These will bring good fortune. You cannot call it nice, because you have to be very careful with the choice of words. Nice refers to 4th house. With 9th house, you can say your brother may be very lucky for you. Lucky is the correct word for 9th house. You are lucky to have a brother like him. He has brought your Bhāgya to you. I have seen it closely.

Student 7: Kumbha Lagna, Tula in the 9th house, and Venus is in 5th house. No planet is in 9th house.

Guru Sanjay Rath: Śukra is 9th lord in 5th, and is very important for him. His marriage must have had an altering effect on his life. Śukra is the wife.
