Guruji Sanjay Rath starts speaking: Okay, the first topic we are going to start is Graha Mālikā Yoga. What do you understand from the word “yoga”? (Students start murmuring, and somebody says the word “sambandha”.). Yes, I want to hear the word sambandha. Main word here is sambandha. Without sambandha, there cannot be any yoga. If two or more factors come together, it is a yoga. When we use the word two or more, the question arises how do we define this. should we take Rāśi as a factor or we just consider the graha. Parāśara muni says that Rāśi are not jīvātma, they are jaḍātma. And jaḍātma do help in yoga but don’t form the yoga. Only graha can form the yoga. These two lines is the most important concept here. if we are not clear about what is a yoga then all the yoga that we will study will go wrong. So, yoga has to be between two or more grahas. Because grahas are indicating jīvātma. When graha show jīvātma then graha between two graha is formed, but how? Pūrna (100%) Sambandha, a 100% yoga happens only between two graha that are in parivartana.
- It happens when planet A is in the Rāśi of planet B while planet B is in the Rāśi of Planet A. For example, Jupiter in the signs of Mars and Mars is in the signs of Jupiter will form a perfect bondage between Jupiter and Mars. In this yoga, none of the two graha is going to break the contract. Whatever has been decided between these two grahas, will surely happen.
- This parivartana yoga starts showing its effect right from birth as it is pūrṇa.
Another kind of sambandha is yuti. Yuti means to sit together. When two graha combine, yuti happens. Yuti is also a kind of complete but is lesser than that of parivartana. It is possible that the two graha which are sitting together, they work and help each other and complete each other’s tasks or they can also work together towards a common goal. It is also possible that there is disagreement between those two, i.e., they don’t agree. For example, man and woman marry. They might also disagree with each other on various issues, sometimes they fight also, but they still carry on in the marriage. That is yuti. Vivāha is a yuti, it is the coming together of two people. There is permanent bondage. Yuti is also a pūrṇa yoga, like vivāha is a pūrṇa yoga but it is not equivalent to parivartana yoga. Parivartana is perfect. While yuti has slight imperfection.
The third type of Sambandha is when two planets are aspecting each other. This Sambandha is considered weak because it is through dṛṣṭi. It depends on dṛṣṭi, i.e., icchā śakti. When icchā is there, that yoga will work. When icchā (desire) is not there that yoga will not work. For example, when we study the chart of Śrī Rāma, we put his horoscope alongside of Rāmāyaṇa, and start studying the Rāmāyaṇa. Then you will have more joy in studying Rāmāyaṇa. Do you know chart of Śrī Rāma? Who don’t know it, please note down:Karka Lagna, Guru in Karka. Candra is also in Karka in Puṣya nakṣatra. Tulā has Śani in it. Rāhu is in 6th. Rāhu is functioning an enemy and is nīca in 6th house. Maṅgala is exalted in 7th bhāva. 8th house is empty. 9th house has Sītā in it. Who is Sītā, do you know? Śukra! The other name of Śukra is Sītā. Now see, if you study Jyotiṣa like this, then you will get full knowledge of Jyotiṣa. 10th house, or, the rājya bhāva, has Sūrya in it. Okay? Sūrya is in rājya bhāva. Budha is in 11th house. some people say that Budha is in 10th house, however, we don’t agree with that. Mokṣa kāraka Ketu is in 12th house in debility.
Śrī Rāma and Lakṣmaṇa have exactly same chart, same Lagna and same position of all planets except the position of Candra. In the chart of Śrī Lakṣmaṇa, Candra is in Karka but in the Āśleṣā nakṣatra. So, the question is that when we study about nakṣatra, we study the following difference between Puṣya and Āśleṣā nakṣatra. See both have the same chart and just the nakṣatra of Candra is different. Bharata also has same kuṇḍalī but has Lagna in Mīna instead of Karka and nakṣatra of Candra is in Puṣya, same as that of Śrī Rāma. Understand? All four brothers were born within two days. Śrī Rāma was born in Puṣya nakṣatra, and few hours later, Bharata was born in Mīna Lagna on the night of same day. And when the next day came, around midday, Lakṣmaṇa was born and then thereafter, Śatrughna was born. I don’t remember the chart of Śatrughna. So, we see three brothers in one chart. Now, please tell me that why did Lakṣmaṇa had doubt on his brother Bharata. But Rāma never had doubt on his brother Bharata. What the difference? Āśleṣā nakṣatra will never accept Guru’s nakṣatra Puṣya. Puṣya nakṣatra will have blind trust on Rāśi ruled by Guru. There is drastic difference between the two.
Student: Āśleṣā nakṣatra is the nakshatra of Budha.
Guruji Sanjay Rath: why is it a Budha nakṣatra? Now you have spoken it, make me understand what you said. Revatī is also the nakṣatra ruled by Budha but it doesn’t doubt on the Rāśi of Guru. Revatī also has blind trust on Guru’s Rāśi. Sarpa is the devatā of Āśleṣā nakṣatra. Understand every nakṣatra according to the devatā who rules it. Mind (Moon) moves according to devatā. Devatā means diva which means light. Where there is no light, is invisible, why will the mind be attracted towards that? Every person’s mind goes towards what he/she sees. I will go towards whatever that I feel is right for me. This is the peculiarity of mind. Study the nakṣatra and try to understand. Understand every nakṣatra through its devatā. Don’t go by all this Vimśottari daśā lordship. That is all foolish. It’s totally foolish. If you want to understand nakṣatra, understand their devatā. Why is Bharaṇī nakṣatra so bad? Bharaṇī nakṣatra is horrific. But when you see it from the perspective of Vimśottari lordship, the lord is Śukra. So, what is bad in it? Bharaṇī is the nakṣatra of Yamarāja, who doesn’t fear from death? Butchers are there in that nakṣatra. They don’t fear before killing anybody. They are expert in war. And likewise, they have many qualities.
Okay, so come back to yoga. So, Guru exalted in Lagna, is Śrī Rāma and the Maṅgala in 7th in exaltation, is Hanumān. Did they know each other from childhood? No. when they had the desire, that is when Hanumān started chanting “Raam Raam”, and when Śrī Rāma had to go on war, the icchā śakti activated that yoga of Maṅgala and Guru. You see my point? That’s why it is said, the yoga from dṛṣṭi is for future, i.e., it will be fructified in future. dṛṣṭi yoga, and yuti yoga work and fructify in future. But the parivartana yoga starts fructifying right from birth. Last type of yoga is when parivartana and dṛṣṭi happen simultaneously. How? Take two grahas, planet A is in Rāśi of planet B, but planet B can’t reach the Rāśi of planet A but only having dṛṣṭi on the Rāśi of planet A. This is the fourth type of yoga. Take Jupiter in Aries and Maṅgala in Virgo. Guru is in Rāśi of Maṅgala but Maṅgala couldn’t reach the Rāśi of Guru but had put dṛṣṭi on Dhanu as well as Mīna. So, yoga has been formed. This yoga depends on this type of condition that Guru has done the work of Maṅgala but Maṅgala will only do the work depending on icchā śakti. So, this yoga is also for future. Normally, icchā yoga work in the natural years of the grahas. Following are the natural years of these grahas. 21 and 22 are for Sūrya. 23 and 24 are for Candra. 25 and 26 are for Śukra. 27 and 28 are for Maṅgala. Likewise, 32 is for Jupiter. And half these numbers to get corresponding years of these grahas. 36 is for Śani. Some people believe that these are the years in which the yoga opens up. But, these bhaviṣyat yogas, open up according to daśā also. Suppose Guru is in own Rāśi, so, he is sitting in his own house and is the lord of that house, and vice versa, lord of that house is sitting in that house. So, if you see minutely, it’s kind of a parivartana in its own. So, it has power to generate mahāpuruṣa yoga in itself. But when? When it is in kendra to Lagna. Puruṣa is what! Puruṣa is kendra. Kendras are Viṣṇu sthāna. So, when Viṣṇu and Lakṣmī are in yoga, then kendras are Viṣṇu sthāna and the trikoṇas are Lakṣmī Sthāna, and when they join, it is called a Lakṣmī Nārāyaṇa yoga. This yoga is a big blessing in chart. We have studied four kinds of Sambandha. And if the lord of kendra joins a lord of a trikoṇa, in any one of these four Sambandha, then it is called Lakṣmī Nārāyaṇa Yoga. Now, we will discuss each type of this Lakṣmī Nārāyaṇa Yoga. First and foremost, take the tenth house. which house is the most powerful among the kendra? 10th, then 7th, then 4th and then 1st. These are the four kendras and are the four legs of dharma.
The highest yoga is when the lord of the 10th house is in any type of Sambandha with 9th lord. That yoga is the highest yoga in Jyotiṣa. There is no yoga higher than that. The native who is born with this yoga, his karmas are only for dharma. Now, what do we mean by dharma, that will be discussed later. Dharma of a person can be different from the dharma of world. These native get karma assigned to them through bhāgya. And through this native, Bhagavān will do work that will be very good for this world. It’s a karma yoga and 9th house is his bhāgya. So, Lakṣmī will give resources so long as his/her karma are for the welfare of this world.
And if the lord of the 7th house is in Sambandha with lord of a trikoṇa, then also the native does a lot of work for the welfare of this world. What is the meaning of the yoga when the lord of 7th house is in Sambandha with the lord of 5th house? if the 7th lord is in Sambandha with either the pañcameśa (5th lord) or the bhāgyeśa (9th lord), such person has blessing of God Śiva. This native will want to understand all the religions of this world, is not suffice with little knowledge, wants all such knowledge. If he dives into Christianity, will want to have complete understanding of Christianity. If he dives into Jyotiṣa, will want to understand Jyotiṣa completely and be best in Jyotiṣa. If interested in Hinduism, he will study Hinduism thoroughly. He will never accept that one religion will lead to God. He believes in his heart, that be it Hinduism, or Islam, or Christianity, are the path to God. Provided that saptameśa (7th lord) forms Sambandha with lord of a trikoṇa. It gives you a very broad-minded approach. It makes the native very broad minded.
If the lord of the 4th house, is in Sambandha with a lord of a trikoṇa, then this native is very dear to Viṣṇu and considers this world his own home. When I was talking about 7th house, I was discussing how the native approaches all the knowledge of this world. True worshippers of Śiva are seekers of truth, of spiritual knowledge. The native who doesn’t believe this world to be a family, is not dear to Viṣṇu Bhagavān. Through the Sambandha of 4th lord with 5th lord, the heart (hṛdaya) is cleaned. Because of this clean heart, the mantra sits in his/her heart. So, he considers whole world, his family. He lives for the society.
So, we have seen yoga of 10th lord with lord of a trikoṇa. It is blessing of Śakti. To do something great in life that is for the betterment of this world. This is dharmakarmādhipati Yoga and is a blessing of Devī Mā. The yoga of 7th lord with the lords of trikoṇa, is a blessing of Śiva Bhagavān. The yoga of 4th lord comes with the blessing of Śrī Viṣṇu. And if the lagneśa is in such yogas, it is because of blessing of Sūrya Bhagavān. So today you understand the first step of yoga. What is this yoga in reality? And which devatā is causing the yogas? Now, study the chart of Śrī Rāma and identify each of such yoga.

Guru and Candra are together in the first house. this yoga is the blessing of Sūrya Bhagavān. Because lagneśa is in lagna and 9th lord is in lagna. So, the yoga is between 1st lord and the 9th lord. Blessing of Sūrya Bhagavān has come. And Mā Lakṣmī will always have blessings on this chart. So, tell me one thing. If this chart comes to you and you don’t know that this is the chart of Śrī Rāma. And if this person asks you that please tell me such a mantra which can enable me to know my self (soul) and why I am born on this planet. Then what will you say? You will talk about this yoga and give a Sūrya mantra. Won’t you ask the person to worship Sūrya? So, you should definitely recommend Sūrya worship.
So, what is the 4th lord, and is it involved in any such yoga? (a student says that 9th lord is aspecting Śukra. Guruji replies: but that is not yoga.) tell me the yoga. Is Śukra in any kind of yoga? If Guru was aspecting Venus’s house than it will tell us that there is an icchā to complete the yoga of parivartana by going in and sitting in that sign. That is, there could be a desire to complete the parivartana. But here, Guru is not aspecting the house of Śukra, and hence we can infer that there is no desire to complete this yoga. And, is Śukra having any other yoga? No.
Now look at Candra and Maṅgala yoga. Candra and Maṅgala are aspecting each other. This yoga is formed because of mutual graha dṛṣṭi. We are not seeing Rāśi dṛṣṭi here. In these yogas, Rāśi dṛṣṭi is of no application. Here we look at graha dṛṣṭi. Which are the houses involved in this Yoga? 5th house and 1st house. Is someone also saying it to be yoga between 10th and 1st house. That does not form a yoga. You don’t take that as a Yoga. That can be yuti, or dṛṣṭi, but never a yoga. A yoga is always between kendra and trikoṇa. For the Lakṣmī Nārāyaṇa yoga, a lord of a kendra must be in yoga with the lord of a trikoṇa. Here, Candra is in śubha dṛṣṭi with pañcameśa (5th lord) Maṅgala. This is a good yoga. Is this a vartamāna yoga or bhaviṣyat yoga? This is a bhaviṣyat yoga. Lagneśa is the person himself. Pañcameśa is the children or students. So, this is the second kind of yoga, and it is clearly there so the yoga has to function.
Okay. Is there a yoga between Guru and Maṅgala? (a student says 5th lord and 9th lord). How can a yoga happen between 5th lord and 9th lord? No, it does not happen. (another student says, 9th lord and 10th lord). Yes, this is what I wanted to hear. Lakṣmī – Nārāyaṇa yoga, i.e., yoga between kendra and trikoṇa. Yoga cannot happen between trikoṇa and trikoṇa. And it also cannot happen between kendra and kendra. There are different types. We will go into other varieties. But let us first understand the fundamentals. But the best and the highest yoga known as the dharmakarmādhipati yoga is in the chart of Śrī Rāma and is between Guru and Maṅgala. Because of this yoga, Śrī Rāma will get the help from Śakti and he will do great karma on this planet. This is a very important point. Daśaharā is an Indian festival which is celebrated because on this day when Śrī Rāma killed Rāvaṇa. The navārṇa mantra, that we have learned, we have learned it from Śrī Rāma. Even today in Puri, there is a famous and very ancient temple called Rāma Caṇḍī Temple. Even today devotees go there in the dark and do mantras.
Scribe’s note: here, the discussion of navārṇa mantra has happened. This is a Vedic mantra. And according to the Vedic tradition, it is not morally and spiritually appropriate to write the mantra in a word file. It has to be heard through Guru’s voice. (So, interested readers can listen to this audio and hear the mantra in the voice of Gurudev at audio from 25:01 to 25:15 of this audio).
Guruji continues: now tell me what is the yoga between Sūrya and Śani. They have mutual aspect. But Śani is neither kendra lord nor a trikoṇa lord. But there is mahāpuruṣa yoga. Guru is exalted and is sitting in kendra from Lagna and is forming Haṃsa Mahāpuruṣa Yoga. Maṅgala is also exalted in kendra from Lagna. Sūrya and Candra do not form mahāpuruṣa yoga but they do start and end these yogas. 5 mahāpuruṣa yoga give the strength of 5 basic elements, 5 tattvas. Haṃsa Mahāpuruṣa gives the strength of ākāśa tattva. Śaśa mahāpuruṣa Yoga gives the strength of vāyu tattva. One who has Rucaka Mahāpuruṣa Yoga has blessing of agni tattva. This person can incinerate any enemy. Bhadra mahāpuruṣa yoga gives the power of pṛthivī tattva. This person always wants to become the king of the earth. In any kind of governance issue, this yoga turns out to be very useful. Śukra forms mālavya mahāpuruṣa Yoga which gives the strength of jala tattva. This person remains joyful. Because this yoga focuses on the 4th house because Śukra has the digbala of 4th house. These mahāpuruṣa yoga work in their ayana. So, the focus on this yoga is on the 4th house and the person is focused about his pleasures and luxuries. Bhadra mahāpuruṣa and Haṃsa mahāpuruṣa focus on the 1st house because they have digbala on the 1st house. Bhadra will want name and fame, will wish that people know him/her to be a powerful and wealthy person. Haṃsa mahāpuruṣa yoga will focus on knowledge and wisdom because Lagna also gives dhī. Rucaka mahāpuruṣa focuses on karma bhāva. There is no work that this person can’t do. For example, Hanumān. There is no impossible task for Śrī Hanumān. The ayana for that is 10H. Śaśa Mahāpuruṣa focuses on the 7th house, always indulges in desires. 7th house is the house of desires, starting from food and up to all kinds of desires.
So, today, we have discussed about the ayana of yogas. You have been reading about mahāpuruṣa yogas. But you did not know what it means. In reality, what does it do in life. You will witness that whatever that I have spoken about, will be correct. For example, it is written in books about Haṃsa Mahāpuruṣa Yoga that he likes sports in water. What is the use of that information. (points to a student). Gopāla has Mīna Lagna and has Guru in Lagna. How much do you play in water. You see the point? What you like is different from ayana. The point is that Guru likes water because Guru gets exalted in Karka. That’s a separate issue, but we have to find about what is the ayana of this.
Let’s talk about some bad yogas. When does a bad yoga happen? ( a student here, is trying to ask a question to Grudev, andGurudev allows the query).
Student: if Vṛścika is the Lagna and Sūrya is in 5th house. So, lord of 10th house is in the 5th house. Hence, it is in 8th from its own house. But yoga of kendra and trikoṇa has taken place because lord of kendra is in trikoṇa.
Gurudev replies: how is a yoga? Yoga is not complete. I am very strict with fundamentals. You took wrong example. I am giving you an example which is proper example of mutual 6H-8H called ṣaḍāṣṭaka. Suppose, Mīna has Śukra, while Guru is in Tulā. Now this is an example of ṣaḍāṣṭaka. It is also parivartana, and it is complete. When do we consider it a yoga? We will accept this as yoga only if we have clarity on the concept of Lakṣmī Nārāyaṇa yoga. Don’t stretch. Because if you stretch the rules, you will go wrong. For Karka Lagna, Guru is 9th lord sitting in 4th house, while Śukra is in 9th house, this is a Lakṣmī Nārāyaṇa yoga. But for Makara Lagna, if Guru is in 10th house Tulā, and Śukra is in 3rd house Mīna. We will not accept this as a Lakṣmī Nārāyaṇa yoga. (a student interrupts and asks: for example, for Meṣa Lagna, Guru is in 7th in Tulā while Śukra is in Mīna. Gurudev replies). Where is Lakṣmī Nārāyaṇa yoga in this? Which are the houses involved in the parivartana? Kendra and trikoṇa are not involved here. (another student interrupts: in Vṛścika Lagna, if Sūrya is in 5th house and Guru is in 10th house. Gurudev replies: very good question, very good example). Vṛścika is Lagna, Sūrya is in 5th while Guru is in 10th. How is this yoga? Because of this yoga, this person will finish one work, and start another work, and like this, this native will reach heights of success. This native will be very hard working and will work very swiftly and diligently. Why? Which houses are involved? 10th house and 5th house are involved. So, blessings of Devī Mā (Śakti Mā) has come. And where the blessings of Devī Mā have come, the rise is certain.
A student asks a question: what if this yoga happens in Tulā Lagna. Candra is in 5th house and Śani is in 10th house. So, if there are blessings of Devī Mā, what has to be done to activate it? Or is there no need to activate it?
Gurudev continues: A very good rāja yoga. If there is a parivartana, there is certainly the blessing of Devī Mā. Suppose a person born in America, so, would this person will now have rāja yoga because just he is not familiar with mantras? A rāja yoga will happen and happens because of Devī Mā. Devī Mā gives the rāja yoga, but why she does it, and how she does it, it is her wish.
Another student asks: Vṛścika Lagna, Guru is in 10th house. And Śukra is in 4th house.
Guruji replies: So, there is mutual aspect, hence, should we consider this a yoga?
Student replies: Śukra is 7th lord while Guru is 5th lord.
Guruji replies: yes, correct. This is blessing of Śiva.
Always look for kendra and trikoṇa. This is group 1, called Lakṣmī Nārāyaṇa yoga. Parāśara is very clear on this that kendra are to be treated as Viṣṇu sthāna, and trikoṇa are to be treated as Lakṣmī sthāna. And this is rāja yoga. He has clearly explained it. There is no confusion. Don’t deviate from this. And, I have also told you what my guru told you about the blessings behind these yogas. That, 10th house has blessings of Devī Mā, 7th house has Śiva, 4th house has Viṣṇu and 1st house Lakṣmī Nārāyaṇa yoga has Sūrya blessings.
Student asks: what is this linkage between Devī Mā and the 10th house.
Guruji replies: the Gāyatrī. Very good question that she has asked. All this comes from four Gāyatrī linked with four kendra. One day has four sandhī. One day four sandhī and sandhī means junction. Prathama (first) sandhī is sunrise / Sūrya udaya. It is called brahma-sandhī. But brahma worship is banned and Sūrya is worshipped instead of Brahma. Mid-day called madhyāhna. Where is Sūrya in madhyāhna? 10th house. And where is Lagna, when seen from Sūrya? 4th house. Because the truth is that Sūrya is not moving only the Lagna is moving. Let suppose, Sūrya is sitting in Meṣa at 10 degree. During Sūrya udaya, Lagna is in Meṣa 10 degrees. So, during Sūrya udaya, devatā is Sūrya himself. This is called brahma Gāyatrī, or savitur Gāyatrī. Tat savitur vareṇyam etc.
Now take 12mid-day. Now Sūrya is still in Meṣa. But the Lagna is in Karka. Karka Lagna is in 4th house from Sūrya. It is called abhijit muhūrta. Viṣṇu Gāyatrī is done at this time. Whoever takes name of Kṛṣṇa, or does Viṣṇu Gāyatrī before eating food before putting food inside mouth, his wealth will never decrease to zero, will always have enough wealth. Even if you don’t do any pūjā, but if you say Viṣṇu Gāyatrī before putting food in mouth, you will never have lack of food. So, 4th house is Viṣṇu Gāyatrī.
Now, Sūrya in 7th house, it is sunset. Sunset symbolises end of life. 7H is Śiva Gāyatrī. At this time, Mṛtyuñjaya mantra is done in anuṣṭup chandas. Because at the time of sunset, Lagna is in 7th from Sūrya. That’s why 7H is Śiva Gāyatrī. 7th lord roams around in the chart carrying the immense energy of Śiva Gāyatrī.
Now come to midnight. We have done the 1st house and the 1st Gāyatrī, which is the Sūrya or savitur Gāyatrī. Next was Viṣṇu Gāyatrī. Next was Śiva Gāyatrī. Now the fourth and the last is secret and is called Turīya Gāyatrī. This Gāyatrī is for madhya rātri (madhya means mid, rātri means night, so madhya rātri is mid-night). One who desires mokṣa, he/she worships Kālī Mā with this Gāyatrī in jagatī chandas. This is for Kālī Mā. This is very well known as the kālī Gāyatrī among the sādhus, among the seers, among all the sacred literature, this is called kālī Gāyatrī, the Turīya Gāyatrī. This is devī Gāyatrī. When the world sleeps in midnight, the worshippers of Turīya Gāyatrī doesn’t sleep and worships Kālī Mā with Turīya Gāyatrī. Lagna is in 10th house at this time. So, 10th house is devī Gāyatrī. At sunrise, the Lagna is in 1st house from Sūrya. So, it is savitur Gāyatrī. And at midday, the Lagna is in 4th from Sūrya. So, at this time, Lagna has Viṣṇu Gāyatrī. The 4th Rāśi from Sūrya in any chart is called Abhijit Rāśi. Abhijit Rāśi has akṣaya pātra. Akṣaya Pātra is the pātra (container), in which food never diminishes. Akṣaya pātra is the 4th from Sūrya. It is clearly mentioned in jātaka pārijāta. Look at the 4th Rāśi from Sūrya in your own chart. When you worship the Āditya related to that Rāśi, the food will never finish. You will always have food. We will go into all that later.
Student asks doubt: in vṛṣabha Lagna, Śani is the 9th lord as well as the 10th lord. It is lord of both kendra and trikoṇa. So, is it important for him to sit in either 9th or 10th house to form a yoga?
Guruji replies: no there is no such rule, it is not necessary to sit in either of the two house. Śani is the lord of both 9th as well as 10th house, so, Śani is complete yoga kāraka in himself. For example, in Karka Lagna, Maṅgala rules 10th as well as 5th house. Hence, Maṅgala rules kendra as well as a trikoṇa in the Karka Lagna. Maṅgala is complete yogakāraka in himself, hence, does not need any other graha to form a rājayoga. For example, in the chart of Śrī Rāma, Maṅgala is complete yogakāraka, lording over kendra as well as a trikoṇa. So, Hanumān jī went to Laṅkā and burnt the whole Laṅkā down. Śrī Rāma didn’t had to go there himself. First Hanumān went, and completed the task. So, Maṅgala was complete yogakāraka. Once I met a jyotiṣī, he said: if Maṅgala is in 7th, the person loses in war. I said, please explain chart of Śrī Rāma to me. I don’t from where these people study Jyotiṣa. When we will study the pachaka etc Sambandha, you will see, if Mangal is in 7th, Mangal wins over the enemies. Mangal’s 12th house, is destroyed, any graha sitting there is destroyed by Mangal, any Rashi there, Mangal will destroy that Rashi. This is pachaka etc Sambandha and we will study them later. Please don’t go into all this right now. Basic yoga is clear? This is rajyoga. From where does raja come? Raja comes from bhagavan’s blessings. It comes from Gayatris. That’s why I was talking about Gayatris. Today that person has not come who was debating over this topic with me yesterday. So, today I thought I will tell them about Gayatri. What is Gayatri. How much do we know about Gayatri! Gayatri is such a rarest of the rarest jewel, and such a beautiful jewel. Its shine is never diminished. It carries on from yuga to yuga.
Now imagine if this yoga is from between kendra and trikona, and instead of that is between some other houses. So, kendra and trikona are total six in number. Lagna is also counted in trikona, but is primarily a kendra. Lagna is secondary trikona. It is the same thing that why there is lotus in the hands of Surya. Surya is king then why there is lotus in his hands. The day you will understand the reason behind this, you will also get to know whether Lagna is kendra or a trikona. Lagna is Surya. He is savitur. He is the one who creates. Who created you? Did your father not create you, was it only your mother who created you? This is like the question that whether Lagna is a kendra or a trikona. It is both. Both your father and your mother created you. Lakshmi ma is known as jagat prasūtyai (who gave birth to this world). Do you know that Konarka is the place of Surya as well as Lakshmi? It is a kendra as well as a trikona. Lakshmi is worshipped at the time of sunrise. So, Lagna is a kendra as well as a trikona. But first, it is a kendra. First, it is Surya. Understand this.
In life, half is good and half is bad. If kendra and trikona are considered good then rest of the houses are considered bad. 2nd house, 3rd house, 6th house, 8th house, 11th house, and 12th house are bad houses. We considered 10th house as the most good house. so, among these bad houses, who is the worst? 8th is the worst? 8th gives your longevity, and gives you birth, then how is it the worst?
Students: it gives accidents.
Guruji: okay, let it give lots of accidents, but ensure that I will not die and will be saved. It’s okay. I don’t fear accidents. So, only 6th, 8th and 12th are bad? Is 3rd not bad?
Student: 8th is 12th from the 9th, that’s why it is bad.
Guruji: okay, this argument is correct that because it is 12th from 9th and is the reason of diminishing of dharma, is bad.
Student: 2nd is maraka.
Guruji: ok. Why is the 2nd maraka? Because it is the sustainer. It is Hari. When you won’t have food, you will die. You will remain alive, as long as Hari is giving you food. Although I accept that 8th house is bad, because all the debts are there in 8th house. All the bad karmas from past life come from 8th house, and it is our own dosha. But I can’t blame anybody else for my 8th house. if my 8th house is giving me bad results, then it is only me who is responsible for it. I can’t blame anybody else for it. So understand the concept: there is upachaya and there is trika. Trika! You understand the word trika? 3rd, 6th and 11th house are trika. Ka means to be born. Tri means three. Trika is the reason for your creation. Ka is brahma syllable. For example, Kali mata mantra is kreeng. Her Stotra is Karpuradi Stotra. Main mantras of Kali ma are in this Stotra. In that you find ka is brahma akshara and your body is formed from ka akshara. Why soul leaves God, and is born in this body? Sanskrit svara (vowels) from a to ah, are the reason for separation of soul from God. They are 12. Ka akshara creates the body. Why brahma ji created this body. Trika are 3rd, 6th and 11th. when we study rudramsha, we will see the effect of tri ka, because of which our enemies will be finished or die. Greatest enemy is shad ripu. Brahma dasha for any Rashi is seen from the 6th bhava from it. Like, from 6th house, for the Lagna; from 7th house for the 2nd. Likewise, 6th bhava is the reason for the creation of this world. Why are you born? Because there was impurity of guna in you. Until you purify it, and finish this trika completely, you will be born again and will not get moksha. And you will definitely be born again. You have to finish these three ka i.e. 3rd house, 6th house and 11th house. This is a very important teaching of Jyotish. The root of these three houses, is the 6th house. 6th house is the opposite of 12th house. 12th house is moksha. And 6th house opposes moksha. So, the worst house in a jataka is the 6th house. If beneficial grahas are in this house, then the person tries to get free from all of his bad guna. And if papa grahas are in this house, then the person indulges more deeply into his bad guna. If papa grahas are in the 6th house, then it’s very important for the lagnesha to be very strong. 6th bhava is the house which gives greatest of your sins. So, any graha in this bhava gives a bad quality. Be it any graha, it becomes the reason of enmity with others. Or in other words, this graha defeats you. For example: 7th lord in 6th makes wife or spouse the reason for enmity and defeat. If 9th lord is in 6th house, then father is the reason for your enmity and defeat. If 3rd lord is in 6th, brother will become the reason of enmity and defeat. Like this, any house-lord goes to this house, becomes the reason of defeat and failure.
Student: what if the lagnesha goes to this house?
Guruji replies: then that person will be an enemy of himself in some way. Or secondly, he could also have so much cleverness that he comes out of every kind of difficult situation. It will definitely give buddhi. For example, these trika bhava, 3rd house, 6th house and 11th house are the Brahma bhava. when lagnesha goes to either 3rd house, 6th house, or 11th house, the native is knowledgeable like Brahma. In America, I learned about SIDS: Self-Intelligence Destructive Syndrome. Like Bhasmasura, you can destroy yourself. Your own intelligence can become your enemy. It is like nobody else is able to understand you, what are you doing, how are you doing everything. You are believing that you are perfect, but nobody else believes that. As a result, you are alienated from your social circle. At this decision, your downfall starts. The biggest challenge for these people is how to stay within the social circle. When lagnesha goes to the 3rd or 11th house, or 6th house, I ask these people to worship Shivji. Because 7th house is in trines of the 3rd and 11th house. And, 7th house is the house of Shivji. Now you already have buddhi, and once Shivji blesses you, yoga will form. And if the lagnesha goes to 6th house, and if the native, even by mistake, does pranam to Vishnu, becomes so intelligent, that he goes to the temple of Vishnu and says Om Namah Shivaya. And a person like that will say: why are you saying the mantra of Shiva when you are standing before Vishnu. And this native replies: “you don’t know it, but, Shiva is everything. Even, Vishnu is a form of Shiva.” And I agree with him. Do you know why? He understands better than me, because he has lagnesha in 6th house. I know he will understand better than me. It’s funny, that these natives will find ways to NOT DO what’s good for them. Ideally, he should stand before Vishnu and do a mantra of Vishnu. Clear???? Okay! When he starts worshipping Vishnu, he will leave all this enmity.
Student: kendra from the 6th house, is the 10th house.
Guruji: yes, that will be required only at the time of defeating enemies. Unless he worships the mother in a Saumya rupa. Actually, the correct thing will be to worship the mother in a Saumya rupa (soft form) not in Kali rupa. When lagnesha goes to the 6th, the person should worship Durga instead of Kali. I have seen this many times that when someone has lagnesha in 6th house, and does pranam to Durga, his work will be automatically solved. That is why it is popularly said, that in a war, you should do pranam to Durga, you will always win. The graha who is in the 6th house, is controlled by the trikona of 10th house. Being controlled is different from being at peace. But I have tried very hard, but they will not do. It is like this example that I am going to give here.
That person came to see me last time, I know him very well. He has Vrishabha Lagna. Shani is in 9th house. In our last class, we studied how to judge papa and shubha graha in the 9th house. what did we do? Shani we kept in another category, Mangal we kept in another category. For Shani, it is mother Shakti. For Shani, there is an aspect to be understood, remember one thing, when you worship the mother, you cannot worship her without Shiva. Similarly, when you worship Shiva, you cannot worship him without the mother. This is very important for our material world. Why? Because they are our parents. Never worship one without the other. Ganesha always worships them together with each other. Never alone. Our dear friend had Shani in the 9th house. What is his bhava when it comes to dharma? In his opinion, Veda is a waste. Vedanta is different. You, see? When the dasha of this Shani will come, you will start saying bad things to dharma, and Veda. If you don’t do such bad things, why would you have a bad time? You must understand, it is that Shani in the 9th house. Shani in the 9th house, is aspecting 6th house. Because of this drishti of Shani on the 6th house, it is your own weakness. In the matter of dharma, such a person is zero. When the dasha comes, because of his own weakness, this person will have loss of fortune. And I recommended Shakti worship. Can you guess why? Because of 10th house. such a person will have difficulty in the matters of 10th house. This person is actually having difficulty in searching for Job. For Taurus Lagna, Shani is 9th lord in the 9th house. But he is not getting a job. So, what is the remedy? He must worship Shakti.
Student: Yes, it’s true. I met a jyotishi and he saw my chart and saw that Shani is my 9th lord. he recommended to me to worship Devi. I do worship Devi and because of that I have sufficient amount of work. Other than Devi, I trust no one. And I have full trust on Devi ma. The current mahadasha for me is Shani mahadasha, although it’s troubling me a bit, but it is not affecting my profession. I have full confidence on Shakti ma.
Guruji Sanjay Rath: Which house indicates confidence? The yoga of all of us has happened for the purpose of Jyotish. That’s why, don’t talk to me about anything that’s not related to Jyotish. In which house, do you check confidence?
Another student: 3rd house shows confidence.
Guruji Sanjay Rath: 3rd house shows parakrama. How can it indicate “confidence”?
Another student: 1st house shows confidence.
Guruji Sanjay Rath: 1st house shows fame. How can it indicate “confidence”?
Another student: 10th house.
Guruji Sanjay Rath: Yes, 10th house is “confidence”. 10th house is the house of confidence. What is confidence? You are confident that you are going to succeed in the work that you are about to do. That’s confidence.
The same student who was telling about his faith on Shakti ma: I have tested this time and again that, as long as I have faith on Ma there is no lack of power to succeed, I know I will succeed and that nobody can defeat me.
Guruji Sanjay Rath: See! There is! Right?? You all can see this live example in your class. That’s what I want to hear. If I am wrong, correct me now.
Same student replies: many people say that japa and worship is not effective and is a waste of time. But I say that is absolutely wrong to say that. If you have faith and believe in it, it does happen.
Guruji Sanjay Rath: Yes, it does fructify, provided, the direction is correct. The direction is very important.
Student asks: he has lagnesha in 6th house with Surya. It will be good for him.
Guruji Sanjay Rath: yes automatically. The more he worships Durga, the better it will be for him.
Student: If the lagnesha is in 6th house, the person should be worshipping Vishnu, but, will he like to worship Vishnu?
Guruji Sanjay Rath: he will not like to worship Vishnu. He will not like to worship Devi. It is 6th house. 6th house is basically Maraka to 5th house. The lagnesha is in 6th house. You are not Jadatma that’s why you are not Lagna. You are jivatma. You are lagnesha. Let us be clear on our principles. Graha is the person. And Rashi is “other” things. When some other planet comes on the Lagna, another person sits on your Lagna. If saptamesha is on your Lagna then your spouse sits on your head all the time. Whichever house lord comes on your Lagna, that person sits on your head.
Scribe’s notes: Saptamesha means 7th lord. here, “sits on your head” means that, that person is always occupying your attention.
Guruji Sanjay Rath: where the lagnesha sits, is called the paka Lagna. That is the place and is the “point-of-view” from which the person sees the world. That can sometimes be wrong also. Make that the Lagna, and check the strengths and weaknesses of that person. Check which bhava from Lagna become weak with respect to paka Lagna and which of the bhava from Lagna become strong with respect to the paka Lagna. Now, put lagnesha in 6th house, and then the 6th house becomes the paka Lagna. The person is expert in war, very brilliant in war. Nobody can make war-decisions like him. He should be a lawyer. Now, the bhava which become the kendra from paka, get very strong. If lagnesha is in 6th house, the 9th house from Lagna is in kendra to paka Lagna. This person will also follow good dharma. But the 12th house is also in kendra, and the 3rd house is also in a kendra to paka Lagna. Normally the 12th and the 3rd house don’t have harmony. Similarly, 9th and 6th house don’t have harmony. But in some cases, they can have harmony. Depending if the 9th house is friendly to the Lagna lord, it’s good. Which bhava went to 12th house, 6th house and 8th house respectively from the paka Lagna, check that also. for example, if the lagnesha is in 6th house, then the Lagna is 8th from paka. So, defamation can come. Now, the 11th house is also 6th from this paka Lagna. So, friends and source of income, can give problems. Maybe the person will be devoid of true friends. And which house is bad from paka? 4th house is 11th from 6th. So, this is also bad. By doing like this, you will get some idea. Now, also check the lord of these houses, from the lagnesha. The ones which are in kendra from Lagna, will form mutual-karaka relation with lagnesha. So,
- See where the lagnesha is and study the chart from the paka Lagna. you will find out strengths and weaknesses in the chart.
- The lord of these houses: are they in kendra or trikona from lagnesha? Because ultimate focus is the lagnesha. You are the focus of the chart. Lagnesha is you.
Now, we will come to another part of the yoga. Now, we will finish yogas today.
Suppose, if the lord of a good house does yoga with the lord of a bad house. an example: what if the 9th lord goes to 3rd house and the 3rd lord goes to 9th house. what will happen? 3rd house is the house, in which the person falls. It is Kama Bhava. It is the house of fall. This Sambandha is kind of weird. Why has the guru gone to 3rd house? And what is the 3rd lord doing in 9th house, now what has become your dharma? What do you consider your dharma? Do you understand? This is absolutely wrong. Normally, the father of such a native can be of loose character if 9th lord is in 3rd house and the 3rd lord is in 9th house. that native will suffer due to father or guru or the suffering will be relating to this. the person will have very bad experiences relating to this. But the person will rise above this, and become very spiritual. But when this Parivartana happens, 9th lord will become very weak, and 3rd lord will become very strong. Why? Because if the lord of a good house exchanges houses with a bad house, the lord of bad house will become strong and the lord of good house will fall. When the bad one becomes good, you should accept him. When the good one becomes bad, you should provide him love. This is the hidden meaning. You should get the principle first then it will be easy for you. Here the 9th lord becomes weak and the 3rd lord becomes strong. If needed, you should make him wear the gemstone of that 3rd lord. See! I am taking such a big risk here. Because it has gone into parivartana. If the 3rd lord becomes strong, it can give raj-yoga. It will give such a dharma, that the native will become a symbol of dharma. But the condition is, 9th lord must fall completely. If the 9th lord doesn’t fall, then the 3rd lord will not be able to rise. One is bad, and one is good. Until the bad one is finished, the good one can’t rise. In life, when you start seeing charts, you will see this type of yoga more than the other yoga like the yoga of 9th lord and 10th lord. Because if the person has yoga of 9th and 10th lord, why will he come to you. They don’t have time for all this. They will be in their karma all the time. Really I am telling you, if there is a parivartana of 3rd and 9th, weaken the 9th lord, and strengthen the 3rd lord. And if Shani is in 9th, advise him to worship Devi ma. He will always praise you, “wow that astrologer improved my whole life”. If Mangal is in 9th house, worship Shiva. If Rahu or Ketu are in 9th house, or have yoga with 9th house, worship guru. Remember these rules of mine, these rules will never fail you. If guru is in even signs, choose Dattatreya. Every purnima has a guru form. Guru is ultimately, OM, and has to reach OM anyhow. Guru Nanak is also a guru. He also taught the same thing about OM. Either go to Guru Nanak Dev, or Dakshinamurti, or Dattatreya; what’s the difference! That is guru. Guru means Om. Only OM has that power that can cut Rahu-Ketu anytime. Always remember this. There is no greater mantra than this, we are born again and again because of Rahu-Ketu. OM has that power to grant moksha.
Let’s take the kundli of Prime Minister P V Narasimha Rao. He has Kanya Lagna, 10th house has Mangal, Surya and Budha. Is Mangal to be strengthened or weakened? Is Surya to be strengthened or weakened? Is Budha to be strengthened or weakened? Will you recommend emerald to him? this example will clear the concept. He used to consult astrologers from Ganjam district especially, he also fought election from Ganjam. Now, 3rd lord, lagnesha, 10th lord are in yoga. Mangal is 3rd lord as well as the 8th lord, Mangal is the most papa, is the worst. Second in papa, is Surya, lord of 12th house. Then comes Budha, Bhadra mahapurusha yoga. We were all there, and we said to him, “as long as Mangal stays strong, nobody can remove you from power”. Surya should also be strong, and because of Surya, you will rise. Whenever Surya will come, you will rise. Whenever Budha will come, you will fall. We said 3 things about three grahas, one for each, in crystal clear words. You see, in Surya dasha, he became chief minister of Andhra Pradesh. It means Surya was good. In Mangal dasha, he became Prime Minister of India. And all enemies, all problems he had, were from his own friends (Budha) and colleagues (Budha). As long as they were weaker, he ruled. As soon as, they got strong, he lost power. His own people were after him. See! Budha. Should Budha be strengthened or weakened? If you are the jyotishi, and you make him wear emerald, he will go to jail because the 12th lord is involved. He will go to jail straight. 12th lord is involved, 8th lord is involved. And Mangal is also involved. Straight Jail! His colleagues and friends had only one focus: how to send him to jail. And he was saved, as long as he did not remove Red Coral (munga) from his hand. I still have that photo. He wore red coral on middle finger. World says to wear red coral on third finger. But he wore it on 2nd finger and became PM. He worshipped Narasimha deva and wore red coral on middle finger. He had gone to retire in his home. They made him the PM. In Simhachalam, Narasimha deva is in a very potent form.
My point is, when the papa graha and shubha graha are in yoga then papa graha becomes shubha and shubha graha becomes papa. You have to leave and sacrifice the shubha planet whereas accept and love the papa graha. Accept the papa graha if you want to benefit from the yoga. If you don’t want to live the rajyoga, then you can stay with that shubha graha. Am I clear on this issue?
For the Kanya Lagna, the so called “traditional jyotishis”, or other jyotishis in the market, they will never recommend red coral (munga, or Mangal gemstone) for Kanya Lagna. You see according to this rule, what I recommended was right or not? Because I am strictly following my lineage’s rules. The good results happened, right! Because many a times you are scared to wear that gemstone because you fear that, that planet is 8th lord or 3rd lord. Fortunately, the one who doesn’t know Jyotish, will benefit because he will trust it easily and believe that “yes, this person knows” and he will wear it. He got the result. Just like P V Narasimha Rao did and he became the Prime Minister of India. So, do not be blind about good or bad. What is good what is bad, you will come to know it from yoga. So, whenever there is a yoga, good becomes bad and bad becomes good. Even in yuti this has happened. So, it will guaranteed happen in Parivartana. Because, if it has happened in yuti, it will surely happen in Parivartana. Why will it not happen in Parivartana? Yes, it will. Let us take another example.
Student: I have exchange of 6th lord with 10th lord. Kumbha Lagna.
Guruji Sanjay Rath: Kumbha is the Lagna. Chandra is 6th lord and Mangal is 10th lord. Both have been debilitated. Debilitation of Mangal is very good and is a straight raj-yoga. But the debilitation of Chandra is not good. So, in Mangal dasha, you will have raj-yoga. But the Chandra should be strengthened. Wear pearl and do some mantra of Shakti ma.
Scribe’s notes: here, Chandra is 6th lord, which is very bad. Mangal is 3rd lord, which is bad, but Mangal is also the lord of 10th house, which is a very good house. so, comparatively, Chandra is higher papa. So, Chandra gemstone is recommended here, mantra for Shakti ma will strengthen Chandra. Pearl is gemstone of Chandra and will strengthen Chandra.
Another student: my wife’s chart.
Guruji Sanjay Rath: you should do your wife’s chart yourself. I never do my student’s horoscope unless they are in real trouble. Otherwise, they will not learn, they will show their chart and go away. Okay, I am giving you example, you tell: Meena Lagna and the 5th house has Surya and Shukra. Or take Gopal’s case beautiful example; Meena is Lagna, Surya is in 8th house, and Shukra is in 6th house. so, Surya and Shukra are in exchange/Parivartana. What is the situation? Till now, we did, one good house lord and one bad house lord. Now, this is 3rd example, both are bad house lords. principle for such cases is as follows:
When two bad lords are involved, and no good house lord is involved, they both must go, they both must die. Both of them must die. This type of kundli is called Switzerland kundli. One is 6th lord another is 8th lord. Both are excited and active. One side Hitler, another side is Churchill. You are scared in the middle of them. one side is Hitler, 8th lord, very powerful nation. Another one is Churchill, 6th lord. Switzerland says, I don’t want to get in between the two of you. “you fight, I will watch”. 6th lord goes in 8th and 8th lord goes in 6th, we call this, dainya parivartana, daridra parivartana. To be scared. The weaker it is the better it is. Because the weaker it is, the quicker the war will end.
Student query: is it a vipareeta rajyoga?
Guruji continues: yes, vipreet rajyoga happens like this, but only if both are weak and dead. When both sides die from fighting, I become SWITZERLAND. When you are fighting, where will you keep the money? In the bank, so, I become the bank. Hitler and Churchill would say to Switzerland, okay, till we both are fighting, you keep our money. Lol. That’s why Switzerland has these banks that have all the money. To understand vipreet raj-yoga, you have to understand the chart of Switzerland. Think of Switzerland. One side is Hitler, other side is Germany, you are on the side watching them kill each other, while you are counting their money. The more the war happened; the more gold Switzerland got. All the German gold, came to Switzerland. Remedy is simple, you have to weaken both. In this case, weaken both grahas. It is best if both are debilitated and dead. However, I don’t know how to weaken grahas. I only know how to exalt grahas.
Student query: what if the 6th lord has come to lagna but the lagnesha has not gone to 6th house. should the 6th lord be strengthened?
Guruji: listen to the query. If the 6th lord has gone to Lagna and the lagnesha has not gone to 6th house; should 6th lord be strengthened? Well! If they are not involved in the yoga, don’t strengthen the 6th lord. 6th lord is in lagna but the lagnesha is not having any of the four Sambandhas with the 6th lord, in such a case, you have to strengthen the lagnesha and not strengthen the 6th lord. Am I being understood? Check the Sambandha among the first three kinds, the fourth kind is not considered a Sambandha.
So, Sambandha is clear! So, what did you see in this case of Surya and Shukra? Is it good or is it bad?
Guruji continues: Surya is already debilitated and weak, which is very good. From Sun you see wealth. From Moon, you see longevity. From Lagna, you see intelligence. These three things are very vital in life. So, Surya in this particular case, got debilitated. As I said, the weaker it is, the better it is. So, financially he must be doing very well. But what about Shukra, is it weak, is it finished? No. Even if it is marana karaka. We cannot say it to be finished. No it is not. Leo is 6th house of Pisces and is not a clear 6th house for Pisces because Surya is a natural friend for the lagnesha Guru. So, we call it “Mitra Shadashtaka. It is not shatru shadashtaka. Before saying bad things about the 6th house, first check if it is mitra shadashtaka or shatru shadashtaka. Otherwise, you will say: “Oh! It is Taurus Lagna, Shukra is in 6th house, so, it is very bad”. If you say absurd things like this, what can I say? It is own house, it is mitra shadashtaka. Mitra shadashtaka always helps you to come out of your problems and your weaknesses. 6th house is your shadripu. So, mitra shadashtaka helps you to come out of your shadripu. Shatru shadashtaka will push you into even deeper problems. Do you understand the difference? In both cases, Lagna and 6th are shadashtaka, but one is positive and another is negative.
Scribe’s notes: here shadashtaka means shada + ashtaka. Shada means 6th. ashtaka means 8th. So, if the lord of 6th house is naturally friendly towards lagnesha, it is mitra-shadashtaka.
For example, if a Mina Lagna person does worship of Surya, his 6th house problems will vanish. It’s a little example, whatever problem he has in the 6th house, will vanish because, why! It is mitra shadashtaka. On the other hand, if Kumbha Lagna people start doing some kind of Chandra related puja, he could get into trouble. Because, this is not mitra shadashtaka. It is shatru shadashtaka. Am I being understood? Okay! (pointing to a student), you can tell your wife’s horoscope now.
Student query: 3rd house lord has gone in 5th house, while the 5th-lord has gone into 3rd house.
Guruji: he also has this. He has Mina Lagna, 3rd lord is in 5th, that is Venus. While, the 5th lord, Chandra is exalted in 3rd house. Tell me one thing, is it good or is it bad. Tell me and apply the principle, which one should be strengthened and which one should be weakened. 3rd lord should become very strong and it should be strengthened. The 5th lord should be weakened. To sacrifice is to weaken. When you are donating something, you are weakening it, simple. It weakens the planet, not strengthens it. Understand the basic principle, whatever that I keep to myself has a higher effect on me. Whatever I donate, which means to give away, (that has a lower effect on me). But it is in 5th house, and 5th house is mantra bhava. 5th house has Saturn, it means Saturn-related mantra has to be done. Mantra for Kali ma or similar Saturn-related mantra has to be done. When she will do that mantra, it will automatically be solved. This will normally create a yoga like, benefit from the government or some government related work. It can also create yoga for “writing”. The person will be known as a learned person. It will be good. In every form, it will be a very fruitful yoga, provided Shani is strong. If you donate Shani, you are making Shani weaker. Don’t give it, keep it. On the other hand, don’t wear the gemstone of the 5th lord, don’t strengthen it. Because of Parivartana, Shani is behaving as if it is 5th lord in 5th house; treat him like that. Okay! Am I clear now? See the example: what they did is to give donations relating to Shani. The more you donate for Shani, the weaker will Shani become. You have to take him, accept him. How to do that? Do Mantra, because it is the 5th house. If 9th house is involved, you have to go to temple. What should be done if there is exchange of 9th and 12th house? In this case, strengthen the 12th lord. How to do that?
Students: by going to temple.
Guruji: Yes, go to temple. But which temple? It is Shukra. So which devata does it indicate? Shukra indicates Lakshmi, So, when you go to Lakshmi temple, you will get the result. You will get everything that you desire. So, which mantra should you do?
Student: Kali Mantra. But did not tell me the mantra.
Guruji: I am Jyotish teacher, my job is to show you the direction. Go to Ramakrishna Mission.
Student: what about the yuti of 7th and 8th lord?
Guruji: Who will tell me about the yuti of 7th and 8th lord. what is its meaning?
Student: bad for marriage.
Guruji: Why is it bad for marriage?
Another Student: will increase longevity.
Guruji: I want to say one thing. These sort of loose questions are not worth it. What is the house containing the yuti of 7th lord and the 8th lord?
Student: in 4th house.
Guruji: check whether such a yuti is in a kendra or a dusthana? If such a yuti has happened in a kendra, then, strengthen the papa graha. Our formula will not change, as we did in the case of P V Narasimha Rao’s chart. In that chart also we did similar combination, i.e. the combination of 10th lord and 8th lord. I did that case, so that, all the cases that come in that pattern, become easy.
Student: So, any malefic house lord making a yoga with a benefic house lord, so, we have to strengthen the malefic house lord?
Guruji: Yes, provided they are sitting in a good house like, kendra. I prefer gemstones when planets are sitting in kendras, purusha houses, or Vishnu houses. For example, giving cow in donation, other option is to keep the cow in home, take care of it. Whenever you are giving something, you are making that graha weaker because that graha is not in your house anymore, it is gone. Let’s say you have 10 cows, then, won’t you agree that Moon is strong in your chart? You will take care of them, play with them. But on the other hand, if you give them away in donation, or sell them, isn’t Moon’s effect coming down in your chart? It has definitely come down. Simple thing, think very clearly. That’s why people used to say that you should keep cows at home and take care of them, so, Moon will remain strong and nice, and can also give longevity.
Student: So, if there is some planet in bad condition, and we wear its gemstone, and also donate item related to that planet. So? What will happen?
Guruji : So, either one of the both will work. But that is not an intelligent choice. I won’t say that it is not the right choice. But that is not an intelligent choice. You are strengthening it and also weakening it. So, there is a chance that either one will work. You have chosen a no risk choice.
Student: what if lagnesha is in a bad house, let’s say lagnesha is in 12th house, then what do we do?
Guruji: It depends upon whether the lagnesha is involved in a yoga or not. Let’s say lagnesha is involved in a yoga with 12th lord. Let’s take a case. Pisces Lagna, with Lagna lord in 12th house and Rahu is in 5th house. Should the person wear pukhraja (yellow sapphire) or not? Meena is the Lagna and lagnesh guru is gone into 12th house. This is a very difficult question. And Rahu is in 5th. 12th is Kumbha, there are two lords, Saturn and Rahu. Rahu is in 12th house.
Student: Sambandha is there.
Guruji : Yes, Sambandha is present between lagnesha and 12th lord. So, Parivartana has happened. Lagna lord is in 12th house and the 12th lord is aspecting Lagna. So, technically we have to strengthen Rahu as well as Lagna lord, technically we have to do this. Now, take case number two. Rahu in trines. I told you about 5th and 9th house. These two are trines. When I told you about 9th house, it is also applicable on 5th house. I told you two things about trines. Trikona, i.e. 5th and 9th house should always have sattva guna. Now Rahu has come into 5th house, and who is with Rahu, is Guru. So, we are stuck. Either we should strengthen Rahu and not Guru, Or, should we strengthen Guru. Or, should we strengthen Rahu because of Parivartana and leave Guru.
Student: Moon is there.
Guruji : Moon?? Forget Moon. Moon is not in the picture. Tell me either one of the two.
Student: We should strengthen Guru.
Guruji: Guru?? Why?? Remember when I talked about four types of Sambandha, and I told you that first three types are important and the fourth type of Sambandha is not important.
Student: But there is no Parivartana.
Guruji: Rahu is aspecting Lagna, Sambandha is there. The fourth type of Sambandha should not be used when you are strengthening or weakening the graha. It is the desire of Rahu to sit on the Lagna but it is not sitting on Lagna. it is just a desire. That’s why Parivartana yoga is not complete. The fourth Sambandha is a weak type of Sambandha, it all depends on ichchha shakti of Rahu. First thing you will see that because this yoga is not completed, Rahu dasha will be very bad. So, immediately make the person wear a pukhraja, so that Rahu is suppressed. Otherwise, Rahu will destroy complete life because Guru is lagnesha and Rahu is dispositor of lagnesha. Being a papa graha, Rahu has gone into 5th house. A papa graha should not be in 5th or 9th, otherwise, it disturbs you throughout life. If papa graha comes into 5th or 9th house, first and foremost thing to do for that person is to do remedy for these papa grahas in 5th or 9th. Because if bhagya is destroyed, everything is destroyed. And then second thing is lagnesha. Remedy the lagnesha. Now, lagnesha we have studied now, and today we are seeing the yogas. You see that? Ok? So, we have done this. What’s the time? Anybody have questions on yoga? We are being very clear on this issue, that this was a difficult case because of this particular complication. In horoscopes, you find complications like this. follow the steps I have told, systematically. First three sambandhas are important fourth is not to be taken for the sake of giving gemstones. Fourth type Sambandha is only partly completed. Of all the sambandhas, the longest Sambandha is that of vivaha, marriage. Marriage is related to which house? 7th house. What does happen if a person marries 10 times? Do you look at 7th house 10 times?
Student: 8th therefrom.
Guruji: 8th therefrom!! How many know about 8th therefrom? If you will look for 1st marriage in 7th house, then will you also look for 2nd marriage in 7th house? then which house you will look second marriage?
Student: 2nd house.
Guruji: Ok!! 2nd house. will you look for 2nd marriage in 2nd house or which other house?
Another student: 9th house
Guruji: why 9th house? why did you look for 2nd marriage in 9th house? If there is any other theory on this, please clear it now. If you have any theories about 2nd wife please tell me now, I would like to know. Our shastra says, that you see the number of wives from the 7th house from Lagna. If the Lagna has got four planets in the 7th house, the person would have four wives. So, Muslim people are allowed to have four planets in 7th house and Hindus are not?? So, you are stuck. What will you do now? What if you met somebody like Elizabeth Taylor, she has had eighth marriage and she would like to consider the ninth. What will you do in such a case? It means your understanding about vivaha, is not clear. In Jyotish, your understanding about marriage is not clear. Otherwise you would not have kept quiet, you would surely have said something. Like he gave me the correct answer. The first marriage is from the seventh house. the second one takes place after the first one breaks, or during the concurrence of the first marriage, for example, in Muslims. If you go to Brunei, they have four-four wives. But Brunei women are smart so they are the first wife and the rest of the wives are from outside like Africa or something. How will you differentiate between marrying second wife while having first wife, and marrying second wife after breaking the first marriage? How will you differentiate?
Student: first spouse is in the 7th house, and the next one is in 9th house.
Guruji: correct answer, I wanted to hear that. Next one? Let’s assume that it is not breaking, so next one is??
Student: 11th and then next one is in Lagna.
Guruji: Correct.
Student: 3rd house therefrom.
Guruji: correct! Every third house, Every third house, every third house. Correct answer. The first marriage is in the 7th house, second marriage is in the 9th house, and third marriage is in the 11th house. The fourth marriage is seen in Lagna. Lagna is something that you should not cross. But if a person is having more than one wife simultaneously, Raja Dasharatha, had four wives. Before cracking jokes on somebody, look at our own, the one who we call Bhagavan, his father had four wives.
Student: No. he had three.
Guruji: Okay, three! Fourth was his state.
Student: (says something about law regarding marriage, not clear in audio).
Guruji: yes, they are not following any law. So, it is clear. How to find out second and third wife, and in which of the varga should we see it? See this in navamsha. Your second wife is not your father, Please! Don’t see it in Rashi kundali. Don’t link it with 9th house of Rashi chart. 7th house from the Rashi chart will tell us, that from which perspective do you see the marriage. What is your perspective regarding marriage, is from 7th house of Rashi chart. What do you get from vivaha, is from the 7th house of Rashi chart. It will not talk about the nature of your spouse. To know about the nature of the spouse, you should check navamsha-7th house. Make navamsha kundli. 7th house of navamsha chart, is the first wife. 9th house of navamsha chart tells about the second wife if first wife is still there and first marriage is going on. 11th house is third wife with first wife and second wife going on. 1st house of navamsha, is the fourth wife with 1st, 2nd and 3rd together. Like this, you will count wives. But if in modern times, you won’t get such cases. The cases you will receive are when first marriage is broken and then after that, second marriage happens. Then you apply vimshottari, and with blind faith, tell the person. If there is Sambandha with 7th house of navamsha, marriage will happen. The lagnesha of navamsha can also give marriage, provided he is having good argala, good aspect on the seventh house. study the navamsha and don’t waste your time studying the Rashi chart. Rashi chart will talk about your attitudes about 7th house. how will you be in it. What do you understand about marriage, is seen from Rashi chart. Suppose if a native had Jupiter in the seventh house in Rashi chart and in 7th house in navamsha chart, which is correct? Rahu is correct. If you start description from Jupiter in 7th house of Rashi chart, then you are making blunder. Your prediction will be wrong.
Do not judge the chart (in matters of marriage and wife) on the basis of the Rashi Chart, the decision will be based on the navamsha chart. Rashi chart is your attitude. Navamsha chart is your wife. Both are separate things. if someone has got Rahu in the 7th house in the Rashi chart, and guru in the 7th house in the navamsha chart. Then this person has terrible attitude towards his wife but he is so lucky that he has got such a sweet wife. Right or wrong?
So, first marriage breaks from 8th house, and 7th from there is the second marriage. So, first marriage is seen from 7th house. Breakage of 1st marriage is timed from 8th house, and second marriage is seen from 2nd house. (In Navamsha). Breakage of second marriage is 3rd house. So, third marriage is 9th house. 3rd marriage breaks in 10th house. So, 4th marriage is in 4th house. 4th marriage breaks in 5th house. Then, 7th from 5th house, is the 5th marriage, i.e., in 11th house. 5th marriage breaks in 12th house. Then, 6th marriage happens in 6th house. 6th marriage breaks in 7th house. And 7th marriage happens in 1st house and breaks in 2nd house. 8th marriage is in 8th house, and breaks in 9th house. It goes on like this.
And here, what is vivaha. What do you define as vivaha? What is the definition of vivaha. Vivaha is defined as one man and one woman staying together in mind and during that time, they will not think of somebody else. That is the perfect vivaha as defined by Shri Krishna in the Mahabharata. That definition is applicable to Kaliyuga. Shri Rama’s definition of marriage is not applicable because nobody in Kaliyuga will agree to that. Kaliyuga agrees to Shri Krishna only. Shri Krishna solved Draupadi’s problems of five husbands. He said, this is typical case of Kaliyuga. In ghora-Kaliyuga, all women will have five-five ten-ten husbands. You can go and see it in America. In very few circumstances, you will see Sita. Very few people will be Sita. And Sita will be kidnapped. This is Kaliyuga, this will happen. So, Shri Krishna told to Draupadi that you have to be with one husband for one whole year and during that time you will not think of second husband. Not even in thought. Draupadi thought that this is very difficult. On one hand she got boon from Shiva that she got five Mahapurushas as five husbands; on the other hand Krishna Bhagavan put this rule. This is the definition of Papa and Punya, and this is the definition by which you and I will, all be judged. So, vivaha will be defined as two people being together in mind, for one year. Even Draupadi could not fulfill it, so how can we fulfill it in Kaliyuga. so, how will you find out? You will find out by asking people. Normally, you will not have this problem in India. In India, this is very straight and you will not come across any problem like that. Problem will come when you are in a foreign country like America, or Netherlands, it is very difficult to decide what is marriage and what is not a marriage. Because their definition in their religion, they don’t even have to take circumambulations of Agni. How can they keep track. How will you keep the count.
A student: but they have the ceremony.
Guruji: so, ceremony is very important for marriage, is it? How do people in Andaman get married?
(Students are trying but not able to answer.)
Guruji: so, ritual is very important for marriage, is it? You see, this is very important for you to understand. Do not get confused by the rituals, it is not made by God, it is made by man. All the rituals in the world are made by man. Be it circumambulations of Agni, or be it holy water-drinking, or be it eating of holy bread; they are all man-made. I am very clear on that. Krishna Bhagavan made one rule. We will catch the horoscope by that definition only. There are no other definitions of marriage. All other definitions of marriage, they are for public, for propaganda, for marketing. My elder brother says that the best business is religion. And it is the best, because investment is zero and constant return. This is his viewpoint. He lives in America, and faith is gone in those countries. Times are gone when people used to be pure. So, as Kaliyuga will advance, you will see that this rule of Krishna will apply. So how will you catch a chart? The 7th from Shukra in Rashi Chart will tell us that from where the wife will come. Who will bring the spouse to you. If she does not come to you then how will you marry her? This is for first wife. 7th house from Shukra, you have to meet her physically not only in the mind. So, the 7th from Shukra. Let’s say, let’s take any chart, any person who is married,
Student: Shukra is in 4th house, in Kumbha Rashi.
Guruji: 7th from Aquarius is Leo. So, Leo does not have any graha. Lord is Surya. Surya is in Meena Rashi.
Student: Surya is in exchange.
Guruji: ok ok. It means that the graha who was bringing the wife to you, has undergone Parivartana. It means, the person who was bringing the wife, has gone away and someone else is bringing the wife, is it? The Parivartana has some meaning, what is it? Due to Parivartana, we will take the other planet with which Surya has undergone Parivartana. That is, we will take Guru. Parivartana means that Surya was bringing the wife and Surya has handed over the job to Guru. So, Guru will bring the wife now. Guru is in Simha Rashi, i.e. a sthira Rashi. In navamsha, Guru is in Mesha Rashi. So, either one of the two will be strong. We are assuming that Guru is powerful in Rashi than in Navamsha. We are assuming that. So, what will you say? Sthira means low energy. Chara means high energy. Dvisvabhava means medium energy. So, when it is sthira Rashi, you have spouse from the place you are staying in. When it is Dvisvabhava then it is a little far. And when it is Chara Rashi, it is far far away. So, what is it in your case?
Student: she was from same colony.
Guruji: So she was from your neighborhood? So, you see how this works? That means we can confirm that before his wife, he did not have any relation of more than one year time span. Right? And you met when you were studying together because Guru was instrumental in it. That graha was making that happen and will happen because of the blessings of that graha. So, those people, who are not getting a wife, please don’t run after 7th lord. 7th lord will not bring your wife. Take the lord of 7th from Shukra. Check its yoga, situation etc. Like here, we had Parivartana between Surya and Guru, so, we picked Guru instead of Surya. And you will definitely find such similar combinations in wife’s chart. If husband will meet wife then wife will also meet husband. So, this is an important point in horoscope matching. But nobody checks it today. That graha will bring two people together. Tell your wife’s horoscope where is Shukra?
student: Shukra is in 9th house. Vrishabha is Lagna. Shukra is in Makara.
Guruji: In his wife’s kundli, Shukra is in Makara, so, 7th from there is Karka Rashi. And is there any graha there? Chandra is in Kumbha Rashi. So, your wife also has same combination. So, if we would have seen her chart we would have said the same thing that “your husband will be from your neighborhood”. So, same thing is matching in both charts. And if you don’t do this matching in horoscopes for marriages, then what kind of matching are you doing? First see this. Second, check which planets are bringing these two together, how are they with each other? What is the sambandha between these two planets. That Moon is of Kumbha and Guru is of Simha. If we take these two together, we see that Moon and Guru are in 7th mutually, so it is Gaja-Kesari yoga. So, it is uttama vivaha. Kids will come through this marriage and marriage will fructify. What kind of kundli matching are you doing. This is first rule of kundli matching. Is it working or not? You take blind horoscopes; it will always work because these are simple rules. So, Guru and Chandra have just met, his wife’s Chandra and his Brihaspati have met. How will this thing go to marriage? Will it be from 7th lord or from upapada? Upapada matching is next step. Third step is matching 7th house of Navamsha of spouse with the first house of Navamsha of the native. And you can also take his 7th house of Navamsha and make it the Lagna, then see if you can see the wife’s family from there. In his wife’s 7th house of Navamsha when taken as Lagna, does it show his family? If it does, then the horoscope matches. we are proceeding logically. You wanted to know how people marry. This is how they marry. So, what is your Navamsha’s 7th house? And which planets are in it?
student: 7th of Navamsha is Mesha and three planets are in it. Jupiter, Mercury and Venus.
Guruji: so, three grahas, Guru, Shukra and Budha are in the 7th house of Navamsha. Jaimini says that two planets sitting here are enough to lift a person to heights of success in life. And if there are three then it will be too high. And all these three are benefics. Fantastic. Now check these three planets in his wife’s chart.
student: Vrishabha Lagna.
Guruji: Shukra becomes Lagnesha.
student: Guru is in 5th house and Budha is in 9th house.
Guruji: see, both Guru and Budha are in trines to Rashi-Lagna. See, story complete. are you seeing this? The grahas which are in trine to Lagna, have a great say on the nature of a person. They will definitely have a great say on the nature of a person. So, the grahas in his 7th of Navamsha, will have a great influence on the trines to Rashi Lagna of his wife’s Rashi chart. Next is upapada matching. How long the marriage will last, from where the wife will come and all these intricate details, we will do from upapada. We will study upapada later and do this then. These are beginner’s classes. That’s why I am teaching the basics to strengthen your foundation. Strong foundation will always support a large building. If the foundation is weak, you cannot make a tall building. Now you have to go home and practice many more charts. Take 7th house from Venus, take the cases work it out and try to understand. Check where it is working in Rashi and where it is working in Navamsha. Sometimes, it is coming from Rashi and sometimes it is coming from Navamsha. See for him. For him, Rashi was working and also for his wife. But sometimes, it works from Navamsha also. Study it, when does it do so. These answers are important, I need them from you.
Graha Malika Yoga
There are 15-20 minutes left. Graha and Malika two words combine to make Graha Malika. It is simple. Malika means garland, all are tied by one thread. Like, you must have bought a flower garland. And how do you hold a garland, do you hold it from its middle or from its two ends. i.e., beginning and end? The thread has all flowers on it. Either you hold it from beginning or you hold it from its end. Once you hold complete mala either from its start or from its end, you will have it in your full control, and not one flower can leave the mala. Likewise, understand the Graha Malika yoga. When many grahas sit in a Malika, the grahas which are in middle of starting point and the end point of the mala, are controlled by the starting graha and the graha ending the graha Malika. They can’t do anything of their own. They are tied and bound in Malika. While hearing the word Graha Malika you would think that it’s a good yoga and you would be welcomed by flower garlands. While this is not so. Graha Malika does not make you so. It means you are tied down by this yoga. “Graha Malika yoga ties you down, it binds you and traps you”, it is like prison, the grahas in-between can’t move either way. The key is in the starting graha and the ending graha. The starting graha is called Vishnu and the ending graha is called Shiva. The ending graha is most important. Ultimately, the result is important no matter what you do, the result is what matters. This is Kaliyuga. In this yuga, people do not see, your intentions, but they only see the result. In Satya yuga, the starting graha is more important. Try to understand my point.
Satya yuga, first is important, the starting is what matters. Have you properly started, have you done the prayers, have you done the mantras before you start the work. In Kaliyuga, nobody cares. You can start any time. Ending should be good. Gita teaches the same thing. In Graha Malika, it’s very important to look at these two houses. First one does creation. Ending graha ends it. The graha sitting in Malika, the first dasha, whatever it is, doesn’t matter. The results are controlled by the graha ending the Malika. The ultimate controller is the last graha. It is said that Shiva is stronger than Brahma. Likewise, the last graha has the controlling power. In Graha Malika yoga, the last graha is most important. Check which planet is ending it, that’s very important. Check the house in which it is ending. Which is the karaka of that house, that karaka is weak or strong? The starting of Graha Malika, tells us the aim of starting anything. In every task, the starting will be from the starting graha and the end result will be from the ending graha. Let’s take an example:
Mina Lagna, Guru is sitting in Lagna. Ketu in second. Moon in third. Mars in fourth. Shani in 5th. Shukra in 6th. Budha in 7th. Rahu and Surya in 8th.
Guruji: So, tell me now, is it a good horoscope? When you see the chart for the first time, what will you say? You will probably say, “wow, hamsa mahapurusha yoga is there in Lagna”, Bhadra mahapurusha yoga, wow what a chart” you will keep praising the good yogas you see in the chart. and you will not catch the reality. Frankly, all the grahas are in garland, continuously one after the other. If you take Ketu also, the starting is from Lagna. and if you don’t take Ketu then the starting is from 3rd house. There are two methods to it, one method takes eight grahas without Ketu. And the other method, takes nine planets including Ketu. In both cases, by both methods, it is finishing in the eighth house with debilitated Surya in yuti with Rahu. What does this mean. The end result is in eighth house, what will you get from eighth house? Eighth house shows longevity. So, there is a danger to longevity, danger to health. Okay, tell me, if we make the chart of this person, and we want to check the dasha, can we apply Vimshottari on him? Why and why not? Malika yoga is a type of sarpa yoga. Just like Kala Sarpa. What is sarpa? It is a thread. In this thread, all grahas are bound in one thread. Rahu and Ketu are in starting and ending on the yoga. That is Kala Sarpa/Amrita. Malika is also a type of sarpa yoga. Sarpa means a single thread that bounds, ties down and controls all the planets in-between. But, Malika is also a type of sarpa yoga. Because sarpa means that all grahas are in one line. Does Vimshottari work on this? No, it doesn’t work. Okay, even if you do apply Vimshottari in this, and you see that Brihaspati dasha has come, what will you predict for his health?
student: we will say that health will be bad, because Rahu and Surya in 8th house are controlling the results.
Guruji: okay, what will you say about Chandra dasha? So, it is clear that this dasha system is not working. Do you agree or not? otherwise, you will say he will be healthy in Guru dasha because lagnesha is in Lagna. But actually, he had food poisoning problem, and after this food poisoning, he had a health issue, not even doctors were able to diagnose. That was a very serious thing.
student: 6th lord can cause it.
Guruji: No, from where did 6th lord come? Neither the 6th lord, nor the 8th lord has any drishti on the Lagnesha. How will you predict? He went to many many astrologers, but nobody could answer. And if he would have come to you, what would you have said? So, Graha Malika yoga is from the starting to ending graha. So, dasha will run accordingly. Dashas will start from the starting planet, and will end in ending graha. How will you jump if all are sitting in a line. You have to go according to the line, the thread, the sarpa. How will you do the timing? Will Kalachakra dasha work on it? Yes, Kalachakra dasha will work, provided you know it. It is a very good dasha. Kalachakra dasha is a type of dasha which is beyond all these. Every type of sarpa yoga, Kala Sarpa yoga, sarpa yoga, Graha Malika is also a type of sarpa yoga. we can do it. Otherwise, how will you do? How can you predict through Jupiter’s Vimshottari dasha? How can you predict bad health with Jupiter? His health problem has been going on for three to four years now. So whatever gochara story we want to give, it will not work. Tell me the correct dasha. Please tell me what else you can do? So, you see that Vimshottari dasha is not applicable in all cases. Do you get it? It will not tell you the dasha, because it is a very advanced form of dasha. (Kalachakra). Silly logics won’t work because I will give you a different kundli altogether and it will not work.
See, there is a Parivartana of 6th and 8th lord, Shukra is involved. When Shukra is involved, either food or water will give the disease. Remember five things:
Naivedyam = Chandra or Shukra.
Gandha = prithvi tattva = Budha, smell
Mangal and Surya = agni tattva = fire, allergy etc..
He has Shukra in 6th house. So, food or water will give diseases. Shukra is in Simha Rashi, and Surya represents egg. Did you or did you not see egg? Shukra is not in jala Rashi, otherwise it would have come through liquid. Simha Rashi normally shows non-vegetarian food. He must have eaten some egg etc, and got serious problem.
student: can we use Shula dasha?
Guruji: oh yes, Shula dasha can be fully applied. what’s your age?
student: 30 years
Guruji: so, 9 one zaa 9, 9 two zaa 18, 9 three zaa 27. So, after 27, it would have started.
student: Yes, it started in 26 to 27 age.
Guruji: okay. that’s confirmed. So that comes in 4th house. Which graha is sitting in 4th house. Mangal is there aspected by Rahu by graha drishti. Guru has Rashi drishti, and this is positive. So, Guru will try to save.
student: (speaking something, not clearly audible).
Guruji: In this case, you can’t predict from Brihaspati dasha (Vimshottari). A simple dasha is given in Agni Purana. I told Narasimha to program it into the software. It is a very simple dasha, you can do it on fingertips. He named it: “Buddhi gati dasha”. I agreed on the name. Because wherever the buddhi goes, the person follows the buddhi. So, that was named buddhi gati dasha. What you have to do, is to start from the fourth house. Buddhi gati dasha starts normally from fourth house, and check whether there is a planet sitting there. And there is a subtraction to be done. That software does it very easily. The subtraction is to be done from the house, to the graha for which we have to calculate. Each graha, we start from fourth house and that will go to Lagna. If you have a graha in fourth house, it will give you the first dasha of your life. And it will give a nine-year dasha. So, when were you born?
student: 1975.
Guruji: what is nine plus 75? 84. So, first dasha was of Mangal from 1975 to 1984. After that, there is Shani in 5th house. now we count from 5th house where Shani is sitting, to nine houses forward to that, i.e., second house. We are seeing two things:
- we are starting from fourth house, because fourth house is the lap of your mom. We start from there. Whatever graha is in 4th house, we start from there. Suppose, if there is no graha in fourth house, we start from 5th house. If there is still no graha in 5th house, we start from 6th house. We count from there, from the house that is giving the first dasha, and we count till Lagna. Only till Lagna. First dasha is always till the Lagna. Second dasha is up to the 2nd house, third dasha is till the 3rd house. And like this, every dasha goes. And we will not jump any planet. We have to find the next planet. These are grahas in line. Agni Purana is looking for graha in line, Graha Malika. A malika is there. So, your 1st dasha is of Mangal. From Mangal till Lagna, there are 10 houses. And then we subtract 1 from 10 we get nine. So, it will give nine whole years. Next is Shani and count second house from there. 10 houses minus one is nine. So, first nine years is Mangal dasha. The next nine years is Shani. The next nine years is Shukra, because it will come in same manner from 6th house to 3rd house, 10 houses. Then we subtract one from 10, to get nine. Okay, one more rule. If graha is exalted, add one year. And if graha is debilitated, minus one year.
student: here Moon is uccha, so do we add one year?
Guruji: no, no, no. Dasha is of Shukra, and Shukra is not exalted. So, Shukra gives dasha till 27. The disease will come in this dasha because Shukra is in 6th house. That means your disease has come before 27, (according to this). After that, Budha is next dasha, and Budha is badhakesha in badhaka. Mangal has drishti on dasha.
student: Marakesha is uccha.
Guruji: Leave it, whether it is good for Marakesha to be uccha or neecha, we will discuss it later. Shani and Mangal both have drishti. Is it shubha or papa? Okay, tell me: If Shani and Mangal have graha drishti on Budha, is that Budha a shubha graha or a papa-graha?
student: Papa.
Guruji: Budha is very high in papa. Always remember this, whenever Budha becomes papa-graha, and whenever Budha joins papa-graha/influenced by papa graha, Budha will turn out to be greatest papa-graha. He will be highest in papa among other papa-grahas. Because whatever you teach to a kid, the kid becomes and grows into that. Budha’s dasha has started now and it is also nine years. Budha is exalted, so it is of 10 years instead of nine; because we add one year.
student: In your chart also.
Guruji: there need to be four or more houses in a line.
student: this yoga in the eighth house, where Surya is debilitated.
Guruji: so, that’s why he will have to do dakshinamurti mantra, ultimately. he will have to do it.
student: so, we after that we come to Lagna.
Guruji: no, no, no. see it is like this. After Budha we came to either Rahu or Surya. And from there, we will count up to a house. Let’s say Rahu comes first because it is in lesser degree. So, up to which house we will count?
student: 5th house.
Guruji: we have been moving step by step over there. So, it comes to fifth house. But there is one more graha. When we will start from Surya, we count up to sixth house. Because that is independent movement of two independent grahas. Two independent movements are there, first is counting up to a house, second is the grahas are sitting in a line one after the other. There are two separate counts. One is starting from Lagna. And the other count is starting from the graha in the fourth house. Now next planet is Guru because 9th, 10th, 11th, and 12th houses are empty. And the next graha from Surya is Guru. And house count was up to 6th house in case of Surya. So, Guru is the seventh planet in order, and the 7th house is the house up to which the count will be made. So, we count from Guru up to 7th house. And subtract one, we get six, so, Guru dasha will be of six years. This is from Agni Purana.
But, to say that, the disease happened in Jupiter-Vimshottari, it is too much and is absurd. We must realize that Graha Malika is finishing on Rahu-Surya. We have to appease the graha in the last. And we have to appease that graha because he is a form of Shiva. When Surya is alone, what do you say, which form is that? It is Rameshvara. And when Rahu is alone, it is Nageshvara. And when Rahu as well as Surya are together, it is Dakshinamurti. There is no other way, other than Dakshinamurti, there is no other way. For that, I have asked him to do Ganesha for 40 days, and after 40 days, Dakshinamurti has to be started.
