om gurave namaḥ
The knowledge of acchādana of graha has come from the great Maharṣi Kapila of ancient Kalinga. Acchādana is the auspicious gift of the six planets from Surya to Śukra.
Planet’s Acchādana
Acchādana is fulfilment of significations and their purpose. Place Sun in the 7H, write six planets in the weekday order in maṇḍūka gati (3H jump). Desire for Saturn and Rahu do not qualify as acchā (good, beneficial), while those of Ketu (mokṣa) are contradictory.
Śukra Retas
The word Śukra, in Sanskrit, means Retas. It is an extremely powerful energy which has the power to create a human being i.e. its rajas has the procreative power for propagation of species.
Just like Bṛhaspati is the guru graha for the day, Śukra is the guru graha for the night. This makes sense because the procreation associated activity is allowed at the night time and Śukra is the guru graha for the night. It is the most potent physical energy at Svādhisthānā chakra. At night time, when the energy is downward it is Adhou Retas and it is cooling the body.
Channelizing Śukra Retas
Retas is the energy within the body which can give you moksha as well, when channelized upwards and this energy is called Urdhva Retas.
Śukra has the power of mṛtyunjya. Bṛhaspati is not going to give you this mṛtyunjya because he will like you give you knowledge so that you can finish your karma and go away. But it is Śukra, who likes you to stay here for long and gives you long life with its power of mṛtyunjya. That’s how Śukra gets associated with asura and becomes their Guru.
We are running after sura because of knowledge, we are not running after asura because we do not care about long life. But we should respect both the sura and the asura because each has their own function. Sura gives knowledge, sura makes your life meaningful. Asura, on the other hand gives you longevity.
Since we know it the job of Chandra to protect our life, but job of Śukra is to protect blood line, lineage. So, without understanding Śukra in any chart, we cannot predict child birth.
Śukra Acchādana
5th house from Śukra is called Śukra acchādana. It becomes critical for analysis of child birth. The planets in 5th house from Śukra or the lord of that house can get the child (children) to come. The Acchādana of Śukra is actually its intelligence which, in turn, is activating the 5th house from it.
Is Śukra’s Acchādana same as Śukra’s drṣṭi?
This acchādana is not like a normal drṣṭi of Śukra. It is the inner drsti of Śukra, it is like heart’s desire of Śukra. It will be apt to refer to Śukra’s acchādana as God’s gift. Śukra acchādana is in 5th house from Śukra and it is for progeny.
Why 5th house from Śukra?
The question may come to your mind that why is it the 5th house from Śukra? It is because the 5th house is the house of love; it is the house of adoration. Whom do you love or adore more than anything else in this world? That is 5th house from Śukra and that is a child actually. Therefore, 5th house from Śukra will tell when the Almighty will bless you with the child.
Acchādana Blessings
The first blessing is santāna i.e. the first gift of Śukra is the child. It is Śukra who tells you if you can have a child or not. Out of the two gurus, Bṛhaspati and Śukra, it is Śukra first who acts as the guru by giving you child and only after that the role of Bṛhaspati comes wherein you impart knowledge to your child.
Rāśi (D1):
- Ve 5H is Śukra acchādana
- Ve 5H planets or Ve 5L gives the first child
- In order for the child to be born, Śukra will cause attraction in Ve 7H and due to that, the child will come from Ve 5H.
Therefore Ve 5H in Rāśi (D1) chart must be connected to the timing of the birth of the first child.
Navāṁśa (D9): For children to be born, Śukra causes attraction in Navāṁśa and Rāśi i.e. he is causing attraction in opposites, between the male and the female.
In the Navāṁśa, gṛaha in Ve 5H or Ve 5L will tell you ‘Who do you love’ – it is because this rasa is coming from the past life.
Saptāṁśa (D7): In D7, Ve 5H shows the power to procreate.
Case Studies
Chart 1: Princess Diana
For the first child, let us look at Śukra acchādana:
- Ve 5H has no planet, so we shall look at Ve 5L(s) in D1
- Ve 5Ls are Me and Ra. Me being retrograde and combust is quite weak for this purpose.
- Me is not receiving rāśi drṣṭi from any planet
- Ra is with Ma and having rāśi drṣṭi from Ju, Sa and Mo
- So, either Ra or Ma or Ju or Sa or Mo can bless this native with a child
- In Ju-Ju dasha, Prince William (first child) was born
Therefore, planets in Ve 5H or Ve5L or planets which are having rāśi drṣṭi on Ve 5L can give the first child.
Next child will be from Ve 6H (one step ahead) and so on
- No planet in Ve 6H, so we shall look at Ve 6L, which is Ve
- Ve is having rāśi drṣṭi from Ju, Sa and Mo
- So, either Ve or Ju or Sa or Mo can bless this native with the next child
- In Ju-Sa dasha, Prince Harry (2nd child) was born
Chart 2: M. S. Dhoni
Let us look at at Śukra acchādana:
Ve 5H has no planet, so we shall look at Ve 5L(s) - Ve 5Ls are Ma and Ke
- The good thing here is that Ma and Ke are not conjoined, so they can support pregnancy independently
- Ma is having rāśi drṣṭi from Ra, Ve
- Ke is having rāśi drṣṭi from Ma, Mo
- So, either Ma or Ke or Ra or Ve or Mo can bless this native with a child
- In Ra-Ke dasha, his daughter Ziva Dhoni was born
Therefore, planets in Ve 5H or Ve 5L or planets having rāśi drṣṭi on Ve 5L can give the first child.
Chart 3:
When you look at from Lagna first, 5L Su is with debilitated Saturn and also with 6L Mercury who is combust. This does not look very promising for the child birth.
However, if you look at Śukra acchādana:
- Ve 5H has Ketu and Ve 5L is Mo. If a planet is in the house, that planet generally does the job first.
- Ke is in Aśleśa nakṣatra, lorded by Mercury
- So, either Ke or Me or Mo (Ve 5L) can bless this native with a child
- In Ju-Me dasha, a son was born
Therefore, planets in Ve 5H or the nakṣatra lord(s) of Ve 5L can give the first child.
Chart 4: Maurizio Gucci
Let us look at at Śukra acchādana:
- Ve 5H has Ju and Ve 5L are Ma and Ke. If a planet is in the house, that planet generally does the job first. Moreover Ma & Ke conjunction is not very supportive of pregnancy.
- Ju is having rāśi drṣṭi from Ve and Ra;
- Ju is in Jyeṣṭha nakṣatra, lorded by Me
- So, either Ju or Ve or Ra or Me can bless this native with a child
- In Ju-Ve dasha, first daughter was born
Next child will be from Ve 6H (one step ahead) and so on.
- No planet in Ve 6H, so we shall look at Ve 6L, Ju
- Ju is having rāśi drṣṭi from Ve and Ra
- Ju is in Jyeṣṭha nakṣatra, lorded by Me
- So, either Ju or Ve or Ra or Me can bring the next child
- In Ju-Ra dasha, second child was born
To conclude, Ve 5H is Śukra acchādana and after studying above charts, we understand that planets in Ve 5H or Ve 5L or planets which are having rāśi drṣṭi on Ve 5L can give the child. However, as seen in Chart 3, even the nakṣatra lord of planet placed in Ve 5H can give the child.
