om gurave namaḥ
Named for its radiance and brightness, Śukra represents Venus as the embodiment of rajas guna, the very source of creation. It animates desires, fuels passion and reproduction, and governs emotional connection, harmony, and companionship through love marriages, while blessing one with prosperity. It fosters love, affection and sexuality, the essential ingredients necessary to sustain a genuine partnership and marital bliss, without these, Venus loses its vital moisture, leaving the heart parched on the brink of death. When Venusian energy is compromised, the life-giving jala tattva (water element) completely evaporates, leaving the relationship deeply aflicted. Like a celibate under the stern gaze of Saturn, it becomes transfixed in a dry spell, as if stranded alone under a scorching desert sun, desperately dreaming of a luxury-design, surround-sound body jet shower system shooting high-pressure streams of jala from every conceivable angle to simultaneously drench, saturate and resurrect a decaying life force.
While Śukra is the solar system’s hottest planet, being the second planet from the Sun and the brightest in the night sky after the Moon, it is the ultimate giver of jala. Here lies the Venusian alchemical anomaly, whose sacred heat rains souls down to Earth, acting as the cosmic charioteer, transporting the soul from the Father to the Mother utilizing the Moon’s jala (water), as the vehicle to ground them to Earth. Therefore, Venus becomes the ultimate giver of jala, governing seventy-five percent of our physical creation with the remaining quarter ruled by Mercury (pṛthvī tattva). This essential life-force makes Venus a vital benefic, a śubha graha.
When Venus rises in the East behind the Sun, the planet becomes the morning star igniting strong rajas to the morning Sun. When ahead of the Sun, Venus transforms into the evening star, adding rajas to the evening Moon channeling affection, love, adoration, intimacy, and sexuality. When a shadow is cast, a beauty mark is etched on the body at birth, indicating a powerful influence in one’s life and granting jala as its protection.
Śukra rules Taurus (Vṛṣabha rāśi), the second house of the natural zodiac, which governs nourishment and the intake of the purest, cleanest, clearest water that Śukra provides to quench the soul and sustain life. This placement reflects Jyeṣṭhā māsa, the hottest month of the Grīṣma (summer) season when the extreme heat leaves one severely dehydrated, emphasizing Venus’s vital role in hydrating and quenching that intense heat with life-giving waters. Śukra rules Libra (Tula rāśi) its office, or mūlatrikoṇa. As the natural seventh house, this is where mating and union give birth to conception, and from which the soul arrives to Earth to live, work out its karmic footprint, pay its debts, and fulfill the Mṛtyuñjaya of Śukra. Finally, in Pisces (Mīna rāśi), Śukra is exalted in the 12th house of the natural zodiac. Here, healing arises within the sacred sanctuary, a natural place of retreat, solitude, meditation and liberation through losses or deliverance of mokṣa.
Besides Śukra playing the role of the healer in Pisces, the house of the hospital and recovery, Ketu as the co-Lord of Pisces and the mokṣa kāraka plays the role of the Liberator, granting freedom from saṃsāra to those who die there. The role of the Therapeutic Purifier of Suffering is given to Saturn, the god of disease, beckoning us to face the painful withdrawal from worldly desires in the place of confinement to burn the karmic debts through tapasya. Through Śukra, Śani, and Ketu, Tapasvi yoga activates discipline, asceticism, and a spiritual practice.
The concept of maraṇa kāraka sthāna (MKS), the death-inflicting or mṛtyu position of a planet, refers to a specific house placement from the Lagna where a planet becomes weak and feels like it is dying. While it can manifest as physical suffering or a time of deep sorrow, it rarely indicates an actual physical death. Instead, it signifies a psychological or symbolic ‘dying’ of the planet’s natural significations (naisargika kārakatva). When a planet occupies this specific house (bhāva), the areas of life it naturally governs tend to spoil, decay, or feel as though they are actively dying away.
The following śloka from the Jātaka Pārijāta (Chapter 17, śloka 35) defines the house where Śukra dies, mapping this death-like state of Śukra (Bhārgava) to the sixth house, an inimical sign (śatrurāśigaḥ), a place where its intelligence and potential to flourish suffer greatly.
बुधः सप्तमभावस्थो भार्गवः शत्रुराशिगः ॥ ३५ ॥
budhaḥ saptamabhāvastho bhārgavaḥ śatrurāśigaḥ || 35 ||
The next śloka of Jātaka Pārijāta, (Chapter 17, śloka 36), further details the specific conditions of this dying position. If Śukra joins a malefic planet (pāpa graha – pāpayute), is aspected by a malefic planet (pāpa-dṛṣṭi – pāpadṛṣṭe), sits in an enemy’s house (arighe), or is in a debilitated or weakened dignity (nīcasthe / durbale), then the result is sorrow and suffering (duḥkham).
पापदृष्टेऽरिनीचस्थे दुर्बले दुःखमाप्नुयात् ॥ ३६ ॥
pāpadṛṣṭe ‘rinīcasthe durbale duḥkham āpnuyāt || 36 ||
According to Jātaka Pārijāta (Chapter 17 Kālacakradaśādhyāya, śloka 33), maraṇa kāraka sthāna of Venus (Śukra) brings danger from fire (agnibhayam) when in this position. This śloka points to acute physical suffering or danger that, when analyzed in the navāṁśa (d9), conveys a deep-seated, soul-level decay of Śukra’s internal strength and karmic potential.
शनौ गुल्मेन बाधा स्याद् राहौ विषकृतां रुजम् ॥ ३३ ॥
śanau gulmena bādhā syād rāhau viṣakṛtāṃ rujam || 33 ||
Śukra is in 6th house
According to Sārāvalī by Kalyāṇa Varmā, (Chapter 30), when Śukra is placed in the sixth house, the native will greatly dislike his wife, will have many foes, be devoid of wealth, be easily startled, and be mean. It is clear that Śukra’s natural significations suffer greatly in the house of its enemies, resulting in destabilizing marital bond, aversion toward one’s spouse, and a deprivation of wealth.
Naisargika Bhāva Kāraka of the 6th house
Bṛhat Pārāśara Horā Śāstra, (Chapter 32, śloka 34), lists the twelve significators (kārakatvas), of each house (bhāvakārakāḥs). Pārāśara assigns the 6th house of enemies to Mars (bhaubha/bhauma).
गुरुश्चन्द्रसुतो जीवो मन्दश्च भावकारकाः ॥ ३४ ॥
guruś candrasuto jīvo mandaś ca bhāvakārakāḥ || 34 ||
Ṛṣi Pārāśara links Bhauma (भौम) to Mars, the bhūmi putra or child of Mother Earth, to the natural sixth house, the sign of Virgo, anchoring the planet’s material substance to the earth element (pṛthvī tattva). Virgo (Kanyā rāśi) is the field (kṣetra) from which the physical manifestation is refined and formed by the grace of the Earth Mother. She provides the material which, when hardened through the alchemical process of earthly matter, shapes and creates the body.

Naisargika Kārakatvas
Naisargika Kārakatvas are a planet’s natural significators. The word kāraka (कारक) stems from the word kāra (“hand”), sharing its origin with karma (“action”). Appropriately, as the “hand of God,” a kāraka acts as the doer that delivers the fruits of past actions.
When Śukra, the lord of love, marriage, and vital procreative fluid, is placed in the 6th house, a profound conflict of interest arises. The 6th house is the domain of Maṅgala (Mars), characterized by celibacy, routine, and sensory deprivation. Here, Śukra is denied the affection, luxury, and bonding that are its divine right, forced instead into a harsh environment of conflict, battles, litigation, disputes, and fighting internal weaknesses (ṣaḍripus).
In this house, Mars acts as the kāraka of celibacy, retaining vital energy to build an armor of courage, stamina, and willpower. As a spiritual warrior, his focus is on conquering enemies and daily obstacles, not romantic pursuits, which only diffuse Mangal’s laser focus, soften his sharp edge, and extinguish his inner fire.
Bhāva Kāraka – Mangal as the “Hand of God”
When Śukra enters Mangal’s domain, Mars acts as the “hand of God” to execute a karmic debt, forcing Śukra into a dry spell that shrivels this life giving moisture, leaving the planet wilted, withered, or weathered to perform essential loving duties.
- Śukra’s Shattered Diplomacy: Being forced to engage in conflict, Śukra’s diplomatic nature is weathered from enduring too many storms and battles in the house of enemies. This environment dehydrates her natural significations of beauty and love, draining away her nectar and her capacity to unite and prosper.
- Śukra’s Functional Death: Śukra wilts away in the house of celibacy, losing the ability to protect its own significations of love and companionship while being deprived of harmony and connection. Śukra withers into a dry spell, shriveled like a tough, self contained raison existing on the bare minimum of moisture, a stark contrast to the life giving, vital nourishment of a regenerating grape.
The ultimate expression of this energy depends heavily on Śukra’s strength and dignity:
- Exaltation: If exalted in MKS, Śukra carries the pure, protective energy of Viṣṇu.
- Svakṣetra or Mūlatrikoṇa: If sitting in its own sign, she retains her strength (tattva level) by the grace of Śiva, granting the spiritual resilience needed to endure conflict.
- Aspects & Conjunctions: The final outcome depends on whether Śukra is aflicted by pāpa graha dṛṣṭi (malefic aspects) or blessed by the protective gaze of Guru (Jupiter). According to tradition, any planet conjoining an MKS planet will suffer the great sorrow of Venus.
When Jupiter casts its graha dṛṣṭi on a planet in MKS, it delivers the Jīva dṛṣṭi, the highest blessing of Śiva. As the jīva graha, Jupiter envelops the suffering planet in a protective armor, lifting it from its slumber and restoring its vital energy. This fortunate aspect is the single greatest blessing a horoscope can receive to counter the afliction of a dying planet in MKS.
For Cancer and Leo Ascendants, (Lagnas), Śukra in MKS will automatically activate Mangal as a yogakāraka (Lord of both kendra and koṇa), ultimately producing a positive outcome for the native. Because a yogakāraka planet requires a trigger to unlock its full potential, the presence of Venus in MKS serves as that automatic catalyst. It awakens Maṅgal’s potent yogakāraka energy, compelling it to manifest, specifically when Śukra is in Sagittarius for a Cancer Lagna (where Mars rules the 5th and 10th houses), and when Śukra is in Capricorn for a Leo Lagna (where Mars rules the 4th and 9th houses).
Pūrva Puṇya – Karma of Past Life
According to the paramparā lineage, the MKS of a planet directly reflects our past-life karma. We can analyze this pūrva puṇya, in the rāśi chart (d1) by turning the 9th house into the Lagna. Any planet that holds zero digbala (directional strength) signifies a state of maraṇa (death) representing negative past-life karma that must be experienced in the present life. This results in the planet’s placement in MKS, creating an environment that becomes completely hostile to its natural significations, revealing the past-life transgressions whose consequences the native must suffer today.
Three Steps to Siddhi
One can discover where a person attains siddhis (mastery and accomplishment) when a planet is in maraṇa kāraka sthāna, by counting third from it in the Vāra chakra or weekday order. For Śukra in MKS, Rāhu is in the third from Venus, therefore, Rāhu becomes the siddhi graha. The native can find accomplishment through politics and research, provided that the siddhi planet, Rāhu, itself is strong enough to deliver these achievements.
Sun → Moon → Mars → Mercury → Jupiter → Venus → Saturn → Rāhu → Ketu
When a planet occupies its maraṇa kāraka sthāna (MKS), we must analyze both its natural significations (kārakatvas) and the houses it rules, as both environments become targets of disappointment and suffering. For Śukra in the 6th house, the specific manifestations to consider are as following:
- Significations: Her natural significations – relationships, marriage, bonding, love and prosperity – become direct sources of conflict, trapped in a house governed by enemies, struggles, lawsuits, and celibacy.
- House Lordships: Because an MKS planet inherently brings suffering to the houses it lords over, this placement disrupts the native’s Taurus and Libra houses, damaging the natural significations of family and resources of Taurus, and the mating and union of Libra.
- Protection of the MKS Bhāva: When the Lord of the MKS bhāva receives rāśi dṛṣṭi, protection of that house is indicated by the power of Śakti.
- Bhāva kāraka Mangal: When lacking strength and benevolence, Mangal acts as a divine reckoning, delivering inescapable karmic debts as the “hand of God.” Conversely, when strong and well placed, he acts as a benevolent protective force delivering courage, strength and
- Bṛhaspati’s Redemption: When Jupiter casts his graha dṛṣṭi on Śukra, he lifts the
- Punishment: Malefic aspects (pāpa graha dṛṣṭi) on Śukra will contribute to
- Yogakaraka: Cancer and Leo Lagnas will automatically activate Mangal, the bhāva
- Bhāva Protection (6th house): If the Lord of the 6th bhāva receives rāśi dṛṣṭi from its own Lord, the power of Śakti is activated.
There are a few options one can use to remedy a mourning planet broken by sorrow. For Śukra, the following mantras can be considered.
Devatā mantra to strengthen the 6th house kāraka bhāva of Śukra in MKS
For example, Mangal is the kāraka for the 6th house. By worshiping Mangal in his divine form as Subrahmanya, the Devatā will lead the native to Lord Śiva to heal and remedy that house. The aṣṭākṣarī mantra to offer Subrahmaṇya Deva is:
hrīṁ subrahmanyāya namaḥ
Śiva Jyotirlinga mantra to strengthen a frail Śukra in MKS
Worshiping Lord Śiva strengthens the dharma of a suffering planet. By taking the mūlatrikona of Śukra in Tūla and counting nine houses from it, we arrive at Mithuna as the house of dharma. This house associates with Nageśvara Jyotirlinga through whom the remedy is achieved. The mantra to offer Lord Śiva is:
om namaḥ śivāya nageśvarāya
Viṣṇu avatarā mantra to purify Śukra in MKS
Lord Viṣṇu’s remedy asks us to purify and cleanse the ailing planet by presenting the weapon of its corresponding Avatarā at the planet’s temple while praying with the aṣṭākṣarī mantra. Lord Viṣṇu manifested as the sixth Avatarā Paraśurāma, who is also known as Bhārgava, who also corresponds to Hṛṣikeśa, the form in which Lakṣmī worships Viṣṇu. As Lakṣmī is naturally indicated by Śukra, invoking Bhārgava, allows Śukra to purify and cleanse its grieving placement. For example, one can visit the ancient Parshuram Temple in Chiplun and offer a battle-axe (paraśu) along with the sacred mantra to Lord Bhārgava with:
jaya jaya śrī bhārgava

Paraśu image 1 – wikipedia
Devi mantra for the Lord of the MKS graha
Lastly, if the Lord of the MKS planet is well placed in a kendra or koṇa, one can offer a Devi mantra. Through the blessings of the Divine Mother and the power of the aṣṭākṣarī mantra, this remedy helps resurrect the suffering planet.

Mercury is in the house of Rāhu and Rāhu has PVY with Ketu bringing Rāhu to mūlatrikoṇa, Mercury’s home in the 3H of writing. Lisa Presley was a songwriter and lead vocalist who played an acoustic guitar privately.

- Ve-MKS – om namaḥ śivāya nageśvarāya

- Ra-MKS – om namaḥ śivāya mahākāleśvarāya
Venus is the chara pitṛkāraka (father) being placed in the 6th house from the Lagna becomes the maraṇa kāraka (MKS) indicating destruction of father’s position. During nārāyaṇa daśā of Capricorn/Aquarius, Saturn and Rāhu activated when viṁśottarī daśā Ādhāna of Ra-Sa-Ma started (August 13, 1977), her father died on August 16, 1977. There is also a charakāraka replacement between Ve-PiK and Sa-MK indicating that it was her mother who suffered a celibate marriage. Her parents consummated their marriage on their wedding night and conceived immediately, despite her mother’s young age and their ten-year age gap. Afterward, Elvis struggled with an emotional barrier that prevented him from being intimate with a woman who had given birth. This growing lack of intimacy ultimately led to their separation in 1972.
Later in life, Lisa Marie Presley struggled openly with opioid and prescription drug addiction, a vulnerability indicated astrologically by her pūrva puṇya Moon in the 12th house and Śukra receiving three pāpa dṛṣṭi (malefic aspects) from Saturn, Rāhu, and Ketu. She chronicled this journey in her memoir, From Here to the Great Unknown, hoping to dissolve the public shame surrounding addiction.
Presley passed away in January 2023 from a small bowel obstruction resulting from surgical complications, though her toxicology report noted therapeutic levels of opioids and buprenorphine. Her passing occurred during the nārāyaṇa daśā of Taurus/Libra, which activated Śukra in MKS, and the viṁśottarī daśā of Venus/ Mars, the bhāva kāraka.
Ultimately, the three pāpa dṛṣṭi from Saturn, Rāhu, and Ketu left her with no chance to escape her suffering, especially since Jupiter, the kāraka bhāva Lord, was unable to break the MKS. This was true even though Jupiter’s graha dṛṣṭi aspect normally provides the redeeming power of God to overcome sorrow. Despite being the yogakāraka and bhāva kāraka, Mars acted as the “hand of God” delivering a karmic debt, lacking the strength and benevolence to alleviate her pain.

Ve in MKS – siddhi comes from Rāhu (politics and research) (third from Venus MKS)
Hillary Clinton is an American politician who served as the 67th United States Secretary of State under President Barack Obama from 2009 to 2013, the First Lady of the United States from 1993 to 2001 as the wife of President Bill Clinton. She was a nominee in the 2016 presidential election. LL-Ve in the 6H conjoined Sun in Libra and aspected by Rāhu clearly shows her path towards politics.
Remedy Śiva mantra:
- Ve-MKS – om namaḥ śivāya nageśvarāya
6L-Ve in the 6H aspected by its kāraka Mars by graha dṛṣṭi, indicates that the 6th house will prosper. Consequently, Hillary Clinton, spent the first two decades as a corporate attorney and a fierce advocate for vulnerable populations, specializing in litigation (6th house of enemies), before later merging as a prominent public figure and a presidential candidate.
Because Śukra is the chara mātṛkāraka (mother), its placement in the 6th house from the Lagna indicates her mother’s childhood hardships and suffering through emotional neglect. This inspired Clinton to pursue law and advocate on behalf of vulnerable populations, particularly the welfare of children.
She suffered immense humiliation during the Clinton-Lewinsky extramarital affair scandal that broke out in January 1998 during her nārāyaṇa daśā of Libra, which activated Venus at the end of her viṁśottarī daśā Ve/Ra and Utpanna daśā Ju/Ve. As Lagna Lord Śukra indicates her reputation) and sits in its own sign which brings the grace of Śiva to alleviate sorrow, it is severely aflicted by three pāpa grahas (Sun, Mars, Rāhu) and hemmed in pāpa kartari between Sun and Ketu, confirming her deep marital suffering.

Other remedies to consider:
Viṣṇu mantra:
- Venus conjoined exalted Mercury (Viṣṇu Avatarā Bhārgava as Paraśurāma) jaya jaya śrī bhārgava
Devi Mantra:
- Lordship of Venus – 6L-Ra placed in 4th house,
- om hrīṁ śrīṁ klīṁ gauryai namaḥ
- om hrīṁ śrīṁ klīṁ mahāgaurī (Ra)
The Venus and Mercury conjunction in the sign Virgo where Mercury is exalted and Venus is debilitated gives Venus nīcabhaṅga. Mercury exalts Venus and makes Ve-MKS very auspicious. However, it is Mercury that ultimately drowns in his own sign, leading to destruction along with Saturn and Jupiter, the other conjoining planets.
As the putrakāraka (PK), Mercury will suffer the consequences. This manifested when her 11-year old daughter Blue Ivy made a surprise stage debut in Paris on May 26, 2023 (nārāyaṇa daśā of Aries/Cap activating viṁśottarī daśā Ādhāna of Sa/Ve) during during the Renaissance World Tour. She faced intense public scrutiny and criticism calling her dance performance “still” and “robotic.” Others criticized her placement ialongside professional dancers who had auditioned for years, labeling her a “nepo baby.”
Jupiter as the Lord of the 9H and bḥrātṛkāraka (BK), shows that her father would become the central demanding figure, as her manager and educator, who drilled her in discipline and perfectionism from early childhood. Acting as the driving force behind her success, this dynamic cost them their personal relationship which took an emotional toll by his infidelity when he fathered a child outside of the marriage, a scandal that broke out in 2010 and ended her parents’ 31-year marriage.
The merging between the charakārakas of Ju-PiK (18°54) and Su-MK (18°52’) by 2 minutes indicates her mother’s suffering. In her memoir Matriarch, Tina Knowles described the devastating end to her marriage, writing that when it shattered she felt like she “was going to die,” as the unfaithfulness had begun in their first year of marriage.
The news first broke out in October 2009, during nārāyaṇa daśā of Capricorn/Taurus activating Sa-PiK and Ve-MKS and the bhāva kāraka Mars as the “hand of God” in viṁśottarī daśā Me/Ma and Utpanna of Ju-BK/Ve, directly pointing to her father’s downfall, resulting in massive losses for him, including his profession as the manager of Destiny’s Child (formed in 1990 when Byoncé was just 11 years old) before she transitioned into a global color career in 2002. He faced public shaming and estrangement from his daughters.
Byoncé also suffered deep emotional devastation upon discovering her husband’s infidelity, which initially leaked to the public in May 2014 during nārāyaṇa daśā of Aquarius/Aquarius activating Saturn and Rāhu in Ju/Ra Utpanna. This activated Saturn and Jupiter, planets conjoined Ve-MKS as the dying grahas. A couple years later, she revealed her heartache through her album Lemonade, released in April 2016, during the nārāyaṇa daśā of Aquarius in viṁśottarī daśā Utpanna Sa/Sa and viṁśottarī daśā of Me/Sa, showing Mercury, Saturn and Jupiter drowning in sorrow of the betrayal. This clearly shows how her 7th house Libra brought immense suffering to her marriage through betrayal, mirroring the pain caused by her father’s infidelity, which ultimately destroyed her family indicated by the 2H Taurus.

Prince Andrei’s father’s infidelity in 1907 during the nārāyaṇa daśā of Scorpio activated Mars (rāśi dṛṣṭi on the 2nd house Libra), as the “hand of God” to deliver a karmic debt which caused an internal strain for the family and devastated his mother. Years later, the Russian Revolution abruptly destroyed the secure, tight-knit family of Prince Andrei’s youth. In December 2018, he was forced to flee Crimea into exile during nārāyaṇa daśā of Sagittarius (12H-Ju) / Aries in the Ke/Ve viṁśottarī daśā Ādhāna. Again, Mars, acting as the bhāva kāraka “hand of God” nudged Jupiter to extend its grace and blessings onto Venus, shielding his family from capture and harm.
Prince Andrei’s suffering reached another devastating climax during World War II when a German bomb strike on October 29, 1940, took the life of his beloved wife, Elisabetta, eleven years his junior and already suffering from cancer, indicated by the charakāraka Saturn as dārakāraka (DK). She was killed instantly, when the bomb hit close to their home, abruptly ending their twenty-two year marriage in the nārāyaṇa daśā of Taurus/Aries and viṁśottarī daśā of Mars, activating Venus, Moon in MKS and Mars, as “the hand of God,” to brutally deliver another karmic debt of sorrow.

Siddhi
Ve in MKS – siddhi comes from Rāhu (politics and research) (third from Venus MKS) Me in MKS – siddhi comes from Venus (style and taste) (third from Mercury MKS)
Both siddhi planets are strong. Will.I.am is a political activist and has a unique fashion style and taste. He began designing his own signature clothing line i.am in 2001.
Remedy Śiva mantra:
- Ve-MKS – om namaḥ śivāya nageśvarāya
- Me-MKS – om namaḥ śivāya somanāthāya
Before achieving fame, Will.I.am was in a steady, grounding nine year relationship with a woman who took great care of him before his fame. However, when his band, The Black Eyed Peas, took off for a tour in 1998, he cut off his relationship over the phone, choosing instead to “marry” his work. This decision was activated in the nārāyaṇa daśā of Pisces, activating Lords Jupiter and Ketu in the 7th house in viṁśottarī daśā of Śukra in Ve/Ju.
There is a charakāraka merging between Venus jñātikāraka (GK) and Sun dārakāraka (DK), pointing to Śukra’s MKS and its merging with dārakāraka position. Aspected by an exalted Mars, the bhāva kāraka, sitting in the 3rd house (effort), and acting as “the hand of God,” gave him the impulse and drive to sever his emotional bond and commit fully to his work. His multi-faceted mission in music, technology, business, education and philanthropy (driven by 10th Lord Sun) shielded him from romantic pursuits tand the legal battles that often stem from relationship scandals.
In fact, he stated: “I don’t have time for girlfriends, and that’s why I just keep busy. I keep going because that’s what I want to do… I don’t really like chilling out. I could easily schedule my calendar so I don’t have to work so much, but I keep it packed because I like working hard.” — will.i.am
Venus as the Lord of the 7th house (relationship) and 12th house (marriage) fled to the 6th house of combat, redirecting his energy into an aggressive and exalted pursuit of his career. He alchemized the dying energy of Śukra into a highly creative Venusian seva (service), sacrificing traditional marriage goals in favor of his mission to uplift communities.
Following the 9/11 attacks, he released the hit single “Where is the Love?” in May 2003 during the nārāyaṇa daśā of Pisces/Libra, activated Śukra in viṁśottarī daśā Ve/Me. By channeling Śukra into a global prayer for love and peace, he successfully used his platform to speak his truth against the war and the government’s motives.
During the Libra nārāyaṇa daśā, between 2011-2016, he launched many philanthropic initiatives, including partnering with FIRST Robotics, launching i.am College Track (Boyle Heights), The Prince’s Trust STEM Initiative (UK), hosting the First Los Angeles City Hall Hackathon, the Inaugural ‘Launch to College’ Milestone, and scaling the LAUSD Robotics League. Because the bhava kāraka Mars is exalted in the 3rd house, a place of immense and exceptional strength and benevolence, it transforms his efforts into a legacy of lifetime achievement.

The exaltation of Śukra signifies how the grace of the Viṣṇu Avatarā actively worked to alleviate sorrow from William Morris’ life. While Venus’ exalted status minimized this grief, the burden was ultimately absorbed by the Moon. Here, we observe Śukra operating beautifully as a healer in Pisces. This manifesting potential is reflected in his clinical practice, which he maintained from the 1980s, Moon is the 10th house Lord sitting with Venus. Roughly 80% of his patients comprised women of childbearing age suffering from medical conditions, a demographic clearly indicated by the Moon.
This suffering was also absorbed by his parents, as Moon (mother) also carries the chara pitṛkāraka (PiK), representing the father. His father, a Colonel in Military Intelligence, was largely absent, while his mother experienced a deprivation of marital bliss, eventually leading to divorce.
With Venus sitting in the 6th house, Morris was driven by a singular, one-pointed purpose, devoting his life to the execution of career (karma), driven by the 10th Lord Moon (public), rather than the distractions of transient romance. Consequently, while his personal life was complex, yielding four marriages and three children, his professional trajectory was marked by a steady, brilliant ascent. He remained fiercely loyal to his work, like a spiritual warrior, focused on conquering his daily work routines and career objectives in achieving extraordinary distinction as a leader in academic medicine, an educator, an author, and a dedicated practitioner of Daoist Shen pulse diagnostics and Jyotish lineage studies, alongside displaying exceptional musical talent.
This thematic resilience became entirely evident during the Aries nārāyaṇa daśā activated by Mars viṁśottarī daśā in Ma/Me, when in 2024, Mars, the bhāva kāraka, delivered the “hand of God,” ushering significant financial losses from business associations. Mars as 2nd Lord sitting in Taurus in Śukra’s domain in run-away-yoga from the 2nd house into the 8th house of debts and 12th Lord (losses) Mercury (money transactions) in MKS sitting in the 7th house of business partnerships, the impact felt like a sharp tethering into a karmic debt. As Śukra is under the pāpa dṛṣṭi of Rāhu (receiving dṛṣṭi from a weak Mars) and Ketu, the afliction was difficult to break. Yet, because of his deeply ingrained tendencies toward non-attachment, likely fortified by the exaltation of Śukra, sorrow was removed by the grace of Viṣṇu Avatarā, he did not internalize the mental pain that one would typically expect from such a challenging daśā.
